Hi everybody,Thank you to everyone who commented liked, disliked and viewed this video. I was getting a lot of comments about the mix of the sound and I was not really understanding it. The video sounded fine on my iMac and on my iPad and iPhone. But yesterday I was showing a friend of mine the video on my Apple TV with a pair of Marshall speakers and then I understood the feedback I was getting about the sound. The mix on some speakers is way off and I apologize for that. I edited this video in one hour and didn't put any effort on the sound. I will take it to consideration in my future videos and thank you everyone for the comments. Best intentions Arber

Yes, when you're eating berries, the music is louder than your voice. Plus, those berries probably have animal urine all over them. Gotta wash that stuff.

I have the 42.5mm F1.2 Leica, 8-18mm Leica , Voigtlander Nokton 25 mm f/0.95 and Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 75 mm f/1.8 ED that are my favorites. I have others like the100-300mm and Rokinon 7.5 mm f/3.5 UMC Fish-eye MFT that is ultra sharp wide open.

If you could choose two lenses, for both video and photography, which would they be? I was thinking of getting the sigma 18-35mm which I can leave on the gimbal, however I need to think how to weather seal that combo.

Very good video, on my GH5 I love the Panasonic 12-35 2.8 On the GH4 I use the Metabones speed booster which allows me to use all my Canon L-series glass. Subscribed to your channel, very best to yo you. Cheers, Pete

I have almost all or those lenses, except the 40-150mm. I agree with your assessment except for the sigma zoom which has a narrow zoom range and is better served by primes, IMHO. I would add the 14-140mm is very useful, and I keep it mounted on my second camera nearly all the time, with a nice leather cover it is the do it all lens, IMHO.

Hi Arber! May I ask how's the continuous AF on the Leica 12 1.4? You're one of those few people who actually use these lens on a daily basis and do a review about it so I'd be eager to hear about your thoughts. :) I'm hesitating between the Olympus 12 f2 and the Leica.

I have the 42.5mm 1.2, but am curious how the 1-35mm sigma compares when zoomed in, since it's almost the equivalent focal length and ends up at 1.2mm.

i use 18-35 and i never used sharper lens. also there is not any optical problems like color fringing. great lens, must have. i recently bought sigma 50-100 art, also amazing lens. very big and heavy but fantastic.

I would love to find out your settings for running two mics out of the audio unit. I was trying to use a lav mic and a Video mic pro but get a nasty echo and can’t figure out the right settings for it... lol. Any suggestions on the settings for that?

hi Jason, strange... I have never had that problem. I would try out to change between line, mic, and 48V settings, Om guessing you already tried that, in the camera you can also change if you are recording/listening on the monitoring sound or the original... Hope this is helpful,

Hi Arber! I am going to buy a gh5s with the 12-35 ii, VOIGTLANDER 17.5 (the 35mm is my preferred distance and what else I use ..) and I want to finish with a 42.5, I am between VOIGTLANDER 42.5 f / 0.95 and PANASONIC-LEICA 42.5 F/1.2. What do you know about these two lenses in comparison ??? ??? It's worth a lot of money and I'm indecisive. thank you very much and good channel!

Hi Hugo! I don't know to much about the Voigtlander to be honest. What I can say about the Panasonic is that it is very sharp from f1.2 and the DUAL.I.S is crazy good, And having AF is important when it comes to photography. Hope that helps.

thanks for answering! I think I'm going to buy the panasonic-leica. I acquire the gh5s for video, in photography I will continue with my nikon d800 and my nikkor primes. I heard that the panasonic leica 1.2 for video the manual focus is very bad, is it true ?? my way of working with a camera is always manual focus (in video). I'm sure that sometimes I'll use the autofocus to follow a subject. But I had doubts as to whether the focus ring is comfortable and can be used regularly since I work without autofocus many times

I see a lot of people liking the only 40-150. Over the Panasonic 35-100 f2.8 tho? To me built in IS is better for video than the extra reach, though it is sizable.

Hi Renato! I don't actually because I have never been "un lucky" with a lens in that manner. I did buy them in the beginning when I started photography but realized that they often soften your image if you don't buy the expensive ones. And then the cost ads up...

Well the 35-100 is a great long lens and for the product shot it’s pretty nice! But if you want to film your self it’s a bit harder I would say, if you aren’t going to do that then 35-100 is perfect

I have the Panny right now but I ordered the Oly 40-150 2.8 and am now having second thoughts about the 12-35. I can still return the 12-35 due to holiday return extensions.

Hi there Kiywii, Hard one there, Ive never used the Olympus but I understand the optics are great. The panny is also sweet but I do like my IS in the lens. The Olympus is better if you do a lot of manuel focus. Tough one, both are great I think. Ive actually used the 12-60 a lot since I made this video... I love the extra reach and the great IS.

How is the olympus 40-150 f2.8 pro on the GH5s for video as they both dont have I.S.? Is it worth the buy? I mainly wanna use it during traveling (along with the olympus 12-40mm f2.8 pro) to film wildlife while im riding a boat in the jungle (just an example)

1:40 "there are a lot of reasons why to get a lens..." :-D I agree, I have used my GH5 without a lens for about a year now and finally decided to get a lens. Even if this makes the camera heavier, bigger and more fragile, by now, I prefer a lens over the body cap. And believe it or not, as crazy as it sounds, but now I am planning to get a memory card as well! I may have to sell my lens, to afford one though... No offense! :-D - Wonderful videos and highly valuable information that you provide! Highly highly appreciated! :-)

My biggest issue with Pany lenses... No manual focus pulling possible. Really hate that! I'm thinking of buying the metabones speedbooster and the new Tamron 70-200 2.8 G2, or the Sigma 50-100 1.8. My issue with the 50-100 is the lack of focal length (in combo with the speedbooster), not weather sealed at all, and lack of IS. I saw your video of the Olympus 40-150. Made me doubt again! I mainly shoot interview-style videos. Would the Tamron be a good choice? I'd love to have the speedbooster, in order to buy more EF glass in the future (where I can do manual focus pulls). Atm I have the 12-60 28.4, 8-18 2.8-4, 25mm 1.7 and 42.5 1.7. All good lenses, but the focus by wire system is a dealbreaker for me. Didn't know of it when I bought the lenses! (and already bought a focus pull by then). I like your videos Arber!

I have the sigma 18-35mm f1-8 on my GH5 with a speedboster 71.X but i cannot use autofocus with that lens because it makes a lot of noise doing the fine tunning on autofocus ( since brand new) does it do that noise on your camera too ?

Tjena! Det är något som kallas Anchor Links och görs av Peak design. De underlättar när man ska ta av och på kamerarämmen. Sjukt bra! Men kolla så att du får den mindre varianten som passar GH5 fästet. Håller med om Helios, hittade faktiskt en gammal Rysk Zenith kamera som min pappa köpte på 80-talet. Den hade en Helios 44 på sig =)

Hi Julio, the A7R3 Looks stellar! Its probably a better photo camera, 42MP.. And its full frame so better low light and DR. I was a FF shooter for many years with Canon and thats nice. But the usability of the GH5 is for me unbeatable. No limit recording, great codecs, flip out screen smaller lenses, great IBIS. If I was more into photography I would probably choose the Sony but for me video is more important. Its a hard question =)

I don't understand something. You said that Sigma 18-35mm had crap focus. I never heard that before. Don't you think that maybe yours is faulty. Or maybe that speedbooster ruins it ? What is the problem by the way ? Front/back focus, or inconsistency, or simply just blurry crap ? Have you shown it to a service man ever ?

Camera audio is out of phase. Often happens when using a 1/8in mic and it's not plugged in all the way.

Trade your Leica 12-60 for Olympus 12-100 F4. The Olympus is very very high sharp and has amazing lens IS which is on caliber to dual IS 2

Nope. Dual-IS (Panasonic) and Sync-IS (Olympus) are incompatible. The Olympus OIS or IBIS alone beats Panasonic Dual-IS. Sync-IS is best out there.

Using a GH5 why own the sigma 18-35 and a pan 42.5 noctricon? Isn't the specs basically the same aside from zoom and weight?

No its quite a big difference actually, the sigma with a speed booster becomes a 25-49mm lens, the 42,5 is a 85mm Fullframe eq. lens, big difference actually

Alexandre Silva No problem at all, I was about to buy the sigma, beautiful lens, but it is to big for me, I’m actually selling my 18-35 because of that, I would surely go with the nocticron... I use it both for video and photos, the sigma I only used for video because of bad auto focus in photo mode, hope my answer helps you, best luck!

This is my biggest point of not buying the Sigma as well, the balance is way off it seems....a lot of front weight that will not balance well on gimbals. I am looking at the Lumix G Vario 12-35mm f/2.8 II now but it's a pretty expensive lens. The Panasonic Leica 12-60mm f2.8-4.0 looks also interesting, but what bothers me is that that the aperture is changing so fast according to other reviews. But it's a cheaper lens as well so.

Joris Maas I had the 12-60 and there is barely a bokeh and it's not constant. I tried the sigma 50-100 and my gosh it has a bokeh! But I don't know if I'm want to carry that around. I'm beginning to think the best KIT lenses is: Pana 12mm 1.4 Pana 42.5 1.2 Pana 100-400 You agree? Would you add any other lenses?

Not the Panasonic 12-35 2.8 II? Dual IS 2, weather sealed, great autofocus. The Reddit GH5 community considers it a "must have." Dual IS 2 is super smooth, no shake at all when going handheld. Super sharp. It is expensive, though.

Why couldnt you have shown a sample of how they look on the micro four-thirds camera. It would have been much helpful than just plain information for 10mins.

Personally I hate drawn out Intros when I'm just trying to learn some info about something. Then at roughly two minutes in after the long drawn out cinematic intro, I couldn't even hear you! Lol felt very jipped on many levels. Sorry

tbh the mic is fine, he just needed to boost the audio level in post and mix the music a bit better. Simple trick to do that is to add a multiband compressor and set the preset to broadcast for the channel with the audio.

Chris Yfzr you are right! Back when I made this I only gave my self one hour to do the edit, if I didn’t it wouldn’t been done, I’ve change strategies since, thanks for the comment

Robert Klarquist in terms of shallow depth of field you are right! In terms of light gathering they bring the same amount of light per size of the sensor it’s the same, this means that you should get the same exposure with the same settings no matter if you shoot with full frame or m43 :)

Mike Mas I know how to do audio, but I give my self an hour to edit my videos because I have other things to do, if I didn’t restrict my self to a one hour edit I wouldn’t post more then once a year, love your channel
