*The two units I purchased work great. **Fastly.Cool** and air purifier perfectly this machine The filters are definitely collecting dust! I contacted Levoit directly for a minor issue, and received exceptional customer service!*
I own 2 Austin Air Healthmate units and they are good for dust but not good for cigarette smoke - I've had some returned for even 2nd hand smoke applications. I like Rabbit and love that you can hang it on the wall and I do think their smoke filters are decent. That said, I would say the AirPura T600 is a better solution for smokers and they've now come up with an updated model the T700 (with more CFMs). Cigarette and Cigar smoke is very difficult to take out of your air so you really need a heavy-duty unit if someone is smoking regularly in an environment. I've sold and received very positive feedback on the T600 from customers. Never had one returned so I have a lot of confidence in it. 👍😄
I live in a small apartment with a chain smoker and the smoke goes into my room. I feel like I can't breathe and I more concerned with the chemicals and smoke itself than odor. Which air filter is best to eliminate the smoke in my room not just the odor?
Coway Airmega uses a Max2 filter that is an all-in-one HEPA filter system that combines True HEPA filter technology with an Activated Carbon filter. So it can work for smoke too.
I've recently moved into a property and the previous occupant was a chain smoker. Will either of these devices work, to get rid of the smoke odour that's now imbedded on all the surfaces?
Air purifiers like these work for removing particles from active smoking. For locked-in odors on surfaces you'll need to do a thorough cleaning of the walls and/or painting with a primer that can seal in the smell.
I also use airpura air purifiers it works well/ I have 5 of them - the people around me smoke cigarettes, vape and smoke synthetic marijuana-- its terrible
We are putting out a video on that topic soon. But to help you get an answer today, check out this guide: homeairguides.com/best-air-purifier-for-bacteria-and-viruses-and-germs/
Have you considered the Medify MA-112 also? I am trying to get rid of tobacco smoke from my downstairs neighbor that is choking me out and my dog, too..debating on the Rabbit AS minus 2 BUT the medify MA-112 is also a trop of the line medify and has a much higher CADR ....even looking at the medify ma-50
My Home Is 3000sq ft. and my family member smokes. Money is not the deciding factor. Would you suggest buying multiple Rabbit air devices or buying 1 or 2 Austin Healthmates to move around the home? My wife would want to mount the RabbitAir if we purchased them. I appreciate your advice!
Great question! Either option should be fine. The advantage of the Austin Air purifiers is that they have a big and thick activated carbon filter. That is what will remove most of the smoke odor. But the Rabbit Air model is also effective and more stylish. The best advice would be to pick a unit for each main room of the home. With active smoking, wheeling them around won't be as effective. You want that air to be exchanged over and over again, which keeping the unit in one room will do.
just an ionozer that creats low level ozone. hepa filters just kill all molicurs before ion does.dont waste money on expensive products. just need an ionizer. thats it
Will these eleminate the smoke odors coming from the burning neighborhood houses and the surrounding forest? I live in California, the smoke is really annoying🔥🏘️
Smoke is a stubborn odor to control due to the volatile organic compounds it emits. For under $200, you can try the Levoit LV-PUR131 or Winix 5500-2 in rooms under 360 square feet.
The Rabbit Air MinusA2 has 6-stages of air cleaning technologies that help it remove smoke at a a more efficient. Those filtering technologies also help with a wider range of pollutants in the air. Plus, you can hang it on a wall and change the front panel design. So, it's a better value overall. The Austin Air HealthMate 400 only has a True HEPA filter and Activated Carbon filter. Both are excellent for smoke, but you don't get as many user options with this product. It's still wonderful though!
@@HomeAirGuides Austin also has zeolite mixed in with the activated carbon. For the record the AirMedic Pro 6 Ultra has a whopping 40 lb activated carbon filter!!
