Great video. Thank you. I'm using the new Samsung Notes 4. It must have been released just after this video. I like the fact that it syncs almost instantly across devices. I use it for making quick notes on the go. For my serious notes for projects One Note with its great file structure is unbeatable IMHO. Of course both will handle text to speech from the dictation icon on the virtual keyboard.
Hi! I have a galaxy tab s6 lite (in fact I saw your video about it to help decide to buy it) and I can assure you that in the Samsung notes painting you can choose the brush size. You just have to touch again the brush you are already using and the menu pops below the brush. Just a friendly kick note to correct the information... not intended to shame you. Love the vids btw :)
The biggest downside of the Wacom Bamboo Paper is that the page size seems to be device specific. When I opened some older notebooks on a bigger tablet, the sides of the pages were cut off, and I couldn't resize the page or restore the original size.
Hey Teoh, would you consider redoing this list for 2023? While a lot of the apps in this video are still relevant today, it would be interesting to see how they stack up against newer apps.
It seems that none of these handwriting apps can actually reflow the text when converting a handwritten note? I'm skeptical about using them to actually take handwritten notes - a whole line of handwritten text will be converted to a narrow column. Is any of these apps actually useful to take longform notes?
Hey, Thank you your video. Which app the best note taking app for students? Actually I use my lessons' notes (PDF) and I want to write on pdf. Which is the best for pdf note taking?
I like using samsung note. However, I have a problem when I save it in pdf file, because some parts are cut. Do you have any suggestion for this kind of problem? Thank you
Great video! I must say you should upload 60fps videos for such a devices, because the feel of writing can't be perceived in 30 fps when the device itself is 60/120fps.
can some suggest an app which would allow us to add space at any portion of the page(1 or 2 or more lines at once ) to make additions to already made notes with stlyus
You mean like enlarge a fixed size page? Not that I know. Many apps just have pages that flow on forever. Or you can try Concepts with its infinite canvas
I mostly use Squid And I found it quite suited for my use for taking notes, where I often do drawings within my notes. My favorite feature of Squid is the "infinite" page size. It missed some features, but all in all it's my favorite app for taking notes ; very simple and intuitive to use. Things tha I d'like to be incorporated in Squid : -better file organization and management, duplicate a note - rotate a selection -shortcuts to favorite pencils or tools -magnetic grid -sound recording within a note, -a night mode -more geometric forms (N-gon, arrow....)
Does anyone know how Microsoft one note changes hand written notes into digital text? I've been struggling with this for hours now and there just doesn't seem to be an option! I finally managed to transfer a test note to my PC and the Microsoft one note in there still can't convert it!
Hi, Do you know of any app which can save your notes completely either on Cloud or on external SD card? I am not looking for an app to make a copy on Internal storage. I am using Samsung notes from last 2.5 years and I found I have occupied 1.3GB internal storage because I keep media, gifs, screenshots, audio etc in my notes. I am afraid after 10 years, I have to download my 7GB notes on new syncing device.
@@teohontech7141 Hey Thanks a lot for taking time and replying me. :-) I have hand written notes using spen. Microsoft OneNote keep copies both at local storage and on cloud. I am concered about my mylocal storage getting filled on andriod tablet. I want somethign which doesnt keep copy on internal storage. Exporting to other drive is possbile but Intead of exporting, I want app to store it on external device
Incredible is the best but my problem is that when I write all the tool at the left dissapear when I touch my phone screen idk how to say it but it happens, can someone explain?
Hello, I've bought the app today and have a question: I've downloaded Japanese language but it seems the app doesn't recognise my writing instead they only recognise English writing which is the default. Could you please have an advice how to write other language than English in the app?
Can samsung note convert my handwriting into chinese letter? Say if i write in chinese letter...is it able to recognise it or read the chinese letter that i wrote?
Hi can you please test and do a review on Jnotes? It's also a notetaking app for Android and compare it like to Samsung Note. Thank you for your great videos!
If you have to do rough work and not save your notes, or if you have to do annotations to your pdf and save it, then sketch on pdf application is the best
Yi Chie, may I ask when using OneNote - does your page moves when you lift the stylus off the screen after finishing a word and move to write another. That movement causes the palm to mvoe slighty and on my tablet, the page will twitch and often zoom in... it doesn't happen when the stylus is on the screen or close enough to have the cursor appear... do you have this problem? How to overcome it? Thanks!
I don't recommend Samsung Notes. As for now, it has to many issues. E.g. it doesn't synch well across devices, for me several sets of notes have dissappeared once synching with a computer. It seems it overwrites the version of the tablet, even if the tablet one contains more data. I have lost many notes that way and was left frustrated and disappointed.
It's much better now. Still issues like app asking to keep which version of note i would like to keep, which shouldn't even be asked, obviously last taken one and if you chose wrong newly written part of your note is boom gone in air. But syncs note not opened in one day or so normally to a new device. IF YOU KEEP SYNC OPEN ALL THE TIMES. Use this app with caution!
I’m using iPad Pro. Actually I can use either. Doesn’t matter what I use as long as I can get the job done. My current favourite drawing app Concepts runs on iOS and Android
Hello.. extremely useful review. Thank you so much. Please try to add review for pdf reading android apps which will be good for reading, highlighting or making note in the pdf file itself.
Hi! I've been looking for information but haven't found answers. It happens that in my tab s3 I can read PDF files from my external storage but I cannot write to them (s pen, to highlight text) it asks me to make a copy and the truth is that the internal memory would fill up very quickly. is there a way to be able to do this with the files on the microSD without having to copy them to internal storage? or some app ?. I was trying XODO but it doesn't quite convince me: C pls help
@@teohyc aaaaaah, but i was thinking the function as in "write on pdf" app, when u write in the pdf file it automatically saves whiout "create a new file" i mean the original pdf file stay in the same route with the changes that i made. Sorry for my english
I like noteshelf alittle bit, but andriod does not come with all the features like you see on youtube videos. Like for my text tool i don't have the header tool, or the rename tool, or the resize tool.
Samsung Notes is the best option. OneNote for Android is trash. It doesn't even have handwriting-to-type. Samsung Notes also will do handwriting-to-text in real time. You didn't say that in the video.
The sad thing is the Samsung tablet I got for Christmas doesn't come with a pen so I don't get pressure sensitivity or palm rejection. But I still love it and I can use my own stylus, but it can't go inside the tablet.
Nice video! But I think it is time to do a newer one! There were so many new apps and updates that I am sure your list will increase and we will love it! Edit: Oh, if possible, can you have a session there saying wich ones are good outside the Samsung echosystem (like Xiaomi Pad 5).. pretty please!
And you are stuck forever with samsung to use that app. It would be great to be able to export the notes you take with samsung notes to other app or other devices different from samsung.
@@charadreemurr9081 doesn't work with newest android and Devs seem to have stopped supporting it haven't had an update in 2 years. Shame I want to try it but it just crashes on me
I think, New Samsung Notes is very good now. It have Feature like AI speed writing just like Ipad. so you can write faster. and have folder and much more good new feature. and its free and you can install it on windows to.
