we use the belt sander/dynafile setup like those to smooth out welded handrail joints. i wonder how that skinny belt would do compared to the 1" one the dynafile has on it. if you use a flap disc or grinder disc on the handrail, you "stopsign" the tube and you'll feel it in your hand even after painting the joint.

With the rust removal, it looks like two or more passes with different wire brushes. Use the one that did well getting into the pits (fire?), but poorer one the general removal, then do a pass with the one that did a great job but did not get into the pits (thick?).

Many factories I do work in have banned all wire brushes because of too many people picking broken wires out of body parts. Somewhere on the internet is at least one close-up photo of a wire sticking out of someone's eyeball and that is the one thing which finally got me to be super diligent with eye protection rather than a bit lazy at times. @@SpencerHHO Eh, he doesn't do much (or sometimes any) research into what he says, so his advice is HIGHLY subjective/opinion based. For example he flat out said he wouldn't recommend anyone use dual sensor smoke alarms because he didn't know if they'd wait for both sensors to trip before activating the alarm. All he had to do was make a simple and quick phone call to FirstAlert or Kidde and ask them, and he'd have learned that no they don't stupidly wait for both sensors to trip before activating the alarm. Or, you know, do a 5 second google search.

I afraid that with all the keyboard warriors and basement dwellers out here in Everyone's Tube land all the "your doing it wrong" "I would never do it like that" "I am a professional and that will never last" and every other BS comment you could think of would fill up the comment section. I see videos from professionals that are masters in their chosen field. They post something they are doing and holy crap, half of the comments are from some wingnut that still lives in his mommas basement but feels the need to tell him or her what they are doing wrong. They normally stay away from his testing channel because it involves working with a tool. Most of them couldn't find the power switch or even operate it so they stay away.

I definitely enjoy this kind of "other" content that you polled us for! As a younger viewer I actually really enjoyed seeing the attachments and their applications in real life work scenarios. My personal favorite from this video must be the belt sander attachment. The pipe one I had no idea such a thing even existed, but the belt sander itself is nice for the people who don't want to buy a large tool that they'd use 2-3 times a year and prefer a cheaper and more compact version of it instead. It somehow gets a good job done too, nice find! Also that final test really opened my eyes as to *just how much* the paint coating can help against rust. Educational and fun at the same time, I really like these gadget reviews. If you could test some random vacuum cleaner attachments (either regular vac or shop vac) I think it would make a pretty interesting video as well. I don't know if there's various attachments but considering my new vacuum cleaner came with about 4-5 attachments, I believe that there should be random misc. attachments out on the market as well? Anyways, whether you decide to continue making these or not - We enjoy this content too and like I said, I personally loved seeing the things get put to real work tests so I can understand what the tool is used for way better. Have a nice day/evening Todd, and thank you for the dedication to this channel!

The outside grinder is also great for regrinding cams,or changing a camshaft lobes profile for higher lift(by removing however many thousandths from the non lobe side),to changing duration(by removing top of the lobe slightly for longer,or both sides, making profile steeper, and the bottom non lobe side and adjusting valves appropriately) as long as one doesn't sand or grind beyond the hardening..

Congrats on 3Mil subs! You deserve it! That being said, the two belt sander attachments seem like clear winners. When you unpacked the first, I would never have thought of turning an angle grinder into a dynafile, but that's a terrific add on if it works on your grinder. It probably shines best deburring or shaping metal over wood. Dynafiles are terrific tools for more precise work and spot work on materials like metal and lexan in my experience. That belt sander was perfect for the tube though as well. Tubes are always a pain to get sanded just right and someone thought that one out.

As someone who strip rust and paint almost every day at work this video was very helpful. I usually use a coarse cup wheel but will start to use the flat wheel style. We like to have some abrasion left for paint adhesion.

What excellent timing! I just picked up a variable speed angle grinder and have been looking into unconventional attachments. I've been enjoying my diamond grinder for flattening concrete. Even If you have very good Health Insurance I would not buy any of the angle grinder attachments even the belt sander was a POS .. An angle grinder is only used for light to medium duty work not to be used as a Chainsaw or a HD paint stripper

Unconventional attachments on angle grinders are a great way to lose your fingers. I know guys that use angle grinders daily so plenty of experience with a fairly dangerous tool and none of them use those attachments.

Thank you for the awesome video, like the rest of that channel! I's always amaze me the analytical approach for every test design (by taking into account as much as variables possible) to be as relevant as possible. I would love to see regular (electrical, not battery powered) orbital sander comparison, especially in the 150 mm league. Lots of choices out there , but it is really hard to decide and when it comes to long hours of use it's even harder. Some are too weak to get the job done, some are noisy, some are hard to control due to the vibrations, and some are shaking so hard that it can damage the palms/hands of the user.

Tip from a regular angle grinder chainsaw attachment user. 😂 Get a speed controllable angle grinder. On lower speeds chainsaw attachment feels very safe and stable. I usually use this attachment to cut big branches and trees into smaller pieces for chopping. Works surprisingly well. Don't ever use those in faster speeds. There's a screw to keep the chain tension and that also losen up after some time making it fly off.

I have had a drill chuck on an old Black and Decker two speed sander/polisher for about 25 years. coupled to a flexible 5" sanding pad, it is great. the Wolfcraft biscuit jointer attachment for an angle grinder is another great tool that i have had for over 25 years. biscuits are faster, stronger and better than any other method of joining wood.

I milled out the center of a 5" carbide tip circular saw blade to use on a cordless grinder, it works awesome. Cuts 5/16 aluminum like it's butter. Didn't believe it would work until I tried it. Also got a 5" disc with chainsaw chain attatched, does wonders on wood carving. Both of them are darwin award keys.
