I absolutely love when people use vehicles 1/3 the size of the boat that they're towing. Just awesome. Just goes to show that you don't have to be smart to be rich, so whats your excuse?
You mean the Opposite, how Americans by and large have vehicles that are needlessly larger then whatever they will ever tow (that is a far greater majority then the other way around. in other countries it is certainly the opposite but in the US... F250 towing a jonboat is the norm.) I mean in this very video there is a sunken SEMI drowned from a tiny ass boat! and the only inappropriate vehicle is the one lexus landcruiser?)
As a Bahamian, I can confirm this happens literally all day everyday. Rich people have no idea what they're doing, they buy a boat for their kid and the kid proceeds to destroy the boat, car, trailer and/or the ramp. And no, it never gets old and it Sparks so much joy in my life watching.
The guy launching the fishing boat at night by himself is a genius for figuring out how to set up his tie down rope to catch the cleat on the dock. I thought it might have been another bone head about to smash into the dock due to not knowing how to back a trailer. Not this guy his head bone is real thin due to all the brains up there. I’ve seen all kinds of solo launching but this was the icing on the cake.👍🏻😉🤔👌

My brother in NC had a marina. We were on the dock talking when a boat come puttering back in. The owner said his boat wouldn't get up on plane and asked my brother to take a look. My brother wisphered to me.."take a look at the strap" on the back of the boat. We both couldn't believe what was happening. The guy had taken the trailer off the hitch and the trailer was under the boat. Just when we thought we had seen it all!
@@ACommenterOnRU-vid of course water conducts electricity but not enough to completely short the battery even if it's salt water, plenty of juice available to run a small electric motor. Once that and the whole circuit gets soaked though it probably would stop.
@@Roger__Wilco yea i learned this last week after i posted my reply. At my uncle's trailer his Dryer stopped working. We got a appliance repair guy out to look at it and he said the dryer was fine, it was the electrical outlet. I tested it and it read 240V ... But it would not run the motor. He put his load tester at the outlet and he could not get it to run his tester. He said, yea you may have 240V there but there is no current flow. So we got an electrician out and he said yes the "line" was bad. Even though the outlet showed 240V, the line had a mild short on it which was not hard enough to kill the voltage but enough to prevent the current flow. That wire ran under the trailer and thru a conduit that was FULL OF WATER ... So over the years the cable absorbed the water and all 4 conductors were "wet" and shorting out but not enough because the water's resistance was not strong enough to kill the voltage but was enough resistance to keep the current from flowing. Now he said you may be able to flow some current thru there but not a lot and a dryer needs a LOT of current and the short from the water was enough to stop that much current flow. So once he ran a new line from the breaker panel to that outlet, the dryer started to work again. At that point i realized when he said, the water had some resistance but not enough to stop the circuit from working. He did say if water DID conduct a lot of electricity, the breaker would have eventually popped once the water shorted out the hot side and Neutral. So now that makes sense on how everything in the van was still working because the water was not enough to short out the battery to zero ...
Guarantee you that person is buying a new transmission for that vehicle within a year, if they don't get pulled in the water first. Just because it fits on your tow hitch doesn't mean you're good to tow it!
gx470 has a tow rating of 6300lbs and a high torque v8 woth full time 60/40 4wd. It's more capable a towing vehicle than half the trucks at any ramp. The only mistake here is the driver should have used low gear.
@@helloterran 6300 lb. is nothing. The trailer weighs half that. That was a solid 15,000 -16,000 lb boat maybe more with about 1200 - 1500lb tongue weight. More than likely three - 7K axles under it and a surge hydraulic surge brake. Its a death trap and a law suit for whoever he hits and kills with that POS. You clearly know nothing about towing. Id pull that with my dually all day long but never in that junker.
0:32 That's why you always have the Killswitch cord on at all times. For those who don't know boats there's a cord you're supposed to wear on you arm that attaches to a kill switch on the engine so when your ejected or if you jump out it stops the engine, and it's easily put back in by hand so I have no idea why people don't wear them.

This is a great channel, grew up fishing and crabbing on our 1sr boat in the 1960s Glaspar Tri Hull with an outboard Evinrude until we got a 1973 Grady White 21'ft Chesapeake Cuddy Cabin with a inboard outboard Chevy Straight 6 with Mercruiser out drive...we had that boat until 2017. Worst things we ever had happened was getting a flat tire on our first boat trailer (single axle) at night because there was sharp glass on the ramp. Also remember when we got severely cut off on the interstate and we had to stop fast and our Grady White even with safety chain attached to trailer ripped out the eye hook and went flying thankfully into the grassy shoulder area, fiberglass work needed for the bow. Just in all those years boating and trailering boats in Maryland and Louisiana had yet to see vehicles go into the water, even with rear wheel drive 1966 Buick Lesabre and a 1973 Chrysler New Yorker, now days I drive the family 2005 Tahoe 4x4 with trailer towing package since we had a 22 foot RV Trailer too, Electric Brakes on RV Trailers and Hydraulic Surge Brakes on boat trailers
Yeah. I mean sometimes things happen. You get on a super slick, super steep ramp with a heavy boat and/or back the trailer off the ends of the ramp and there’s not much you can do. That trailer will lift your back end up and practically drag you in. But most of the time it’s idiots doing what they do best. And on a side note, do yourself and everyone around you a favor and wear a damn kill switch. Ffs people
Parking brake doesnt do much when the boat lifts the wheels enough they lose traction on algae, in ya go. You'll notice most of the ones pulled out had back wheels locked.
Some people get a boat that is way to heavy for the vehicle they drive. Max out the towing numbers on their truck then add in a 20 to 30%grade ramp that's wet and two wheel drive. Boat wins / truck looses
That clip at the end is a good example as to why people buy the big boats, but don’t want to or forget to buy a bigger vehicle to pull it. SUV’s and truck’s are perfect for hauling jet ski’s, but heavy duty trucks and semi trucks are essential for hauling the bigger loads, especially a 3 axel boat trailer. Rule of thumb, when you buy a big boat, save yourself the trouble and buy the large truck to haul it. Of course, non of this matters, if the individual makes stupid decisions

Never have had experience with boats so I have to ask what the hell are these people doing wrong? I just can’t see how you manage for your entire truck to go into the water like that. Is the ground slippery or does their boat weigh more than their car?? Like what happened??
Some unintentionally back it up too far, & / or bc of slippery algae, it slides into the water- others simply forget to use their parking brake. I've seen 1, the guy thought he put his truck in park, but hadn't at all. Others should be using 4wd, but weren't, or didn't have it. Others have boats too big for their vehicles, to be able to do that, along with serval other mistakes they make, with the end result being their car/ truck, taking a bath, but those seem to be the most common mistakes😉
