I saw a guy at the haulover ramp pull a 35ft Baja speedboat out with a Range Rover. No problem. Of course haulover is not a very steep ramp especially at high tide.

@@ogimia 😂 dude, before you literally copy and paste from google please make sure you check your sources. Octane number is NOT a percentage of octane in gasoline, that is 100% incorrect. Do you even know what octane is 🤡? The octane number of gasoline is a measure of its resistance to knock. The octane number is determined by comparing the characteristics of a gasoline to isooctane (2,2,4-trimethylpentane) and heptane. Isooctane is assigned an octane number of 100, while heptane is given a rating of 0. Fuels such as avgas, LPG, methanol can have octane numbers much higher than 100, because technically those molecules have a higher knock resistance than isooctane. Some of those fuels can even have 0% isooctane molecules. Has nothing to do with percentage 🤡 🤡 🤡 😂

The Gxis actually an EXTREMELY good vehicle. We own one for 10 years. It has a FULLY locking diff and 4wd transfer case, something that all automakers have forgotten about nowadays

I used to watch this every summer in northern Michigan. Most of the people got it right the fist time because they've done it before. It was the new boaters that didn't know what they were doing that was the most interesting to watch. Thanks.

I tow my 15 foot Boston Whaler with an ES330, which is easy, but that was impressive. He knows just the right amount of power to the wheels to grip. The scary bit is when the trailer takes the vehicle to the water. Guy on the beach was just crazy. He was almost out, but went back for another dip.

You get the hang of it. Actually, watching these videos, you learn what not to do. Just take your time. Go slow with the boat, in and out of neutral, specifically back onto the trailer. If you go slow, you get into trouble also slow.

@@stevenreyngold7121 I'm not familiar with the HiLux reputation but so I'll take your word for it but I can remember back when I was a kid with 2 cents to my name doing similar things with Chevy's, Ford's or whatever piece of crap was available. We "usually" made it work (we had no other choice) but when it didn't it it sometimes wasn't pretty. Now that I'm in a better position financially I'd prefer to err on the side of caution and do it the right way and make it work every time.

I have a Gx460 and love it but she drags my 65 Chris Craft Custom ski 17. Apx 4000 lbs boat, trailer and, gear. Moving my 262 Crowne I call a buddy and borrow his 3500 4x4 Cummins Duelly. My dad has an old 2003 Dodge Dakota 4x4 with the 4.7 V8 as a beach truck. His main tow rig is a 2015 F-250 powerstroke, he has a 33 ft. Cape Horn with triple 250 mercury Verados. One time his diesel was in the shop and he yanked that thing out with the Dakota on a gravel ramp…that little trucks a beast

Lexus guy knows what he’s doing. He jackknifed on purpose and uses the resistance from that to help top the vehicle. Very impressive you can see be does the same thing every time if he went straight back it would be over but by jack knifing snd going down at a angle is very clever and works as you can see

@@sbrunner1234 I don’t think boat trailers typically have electric brakes. All of the boat trailers we’ve had have had surge brakes including a tri-axle trailer for a 15,000 boat.

If he’s been towing with the Lexus on the highway, his luck will run out eventually. At some point he’ll need to stop quickly & the trailer surge brakes won’t be up to the task.

IF that ramp ever gets really slippery the Lexus driver isn't going to have enough control to either put the boat in the water properly or to take it out of the water properly.

That’s an interesting techniques he uses in the Lexus. He’s intentionally turning the wheels in the wrong direction making it turn sideways. Seems to work 🤷‍♂️

Now why would he go and waste the money on a diesel or any other vehicle to pull his boat? He seems to be doing just fine! Infact he is doing better than I'd say half of the people who launch their watercrafts with the right equipment!! This guy deserves a round of beers and a good applause for showing everybody that with a little bit of brains and a lot of skill anything is possible

Big boats are a dime a dozen. The real cost is a slip rental making trailering a cost effective way to get out on the water. This guy has it down at the ramp. Just hope he doesn't get on the highway!
