I got this bumper on my ‘11 taco. My only issue with it is that the pod lights brackets are angled down and barely shine through the holes. I fixed the issue by bending the brackets straight so they’re even with the hole so they’re visible in the front

Very true, I bought the front and rear bumper and some slight modification to both had to happen somewhere but still I don't think you can beat it for the price, as long as your patient and know how to work on some things haha

Just received this bumper yesterday for my 2010 Taco. Appreciate this video as it's the only one I have come across with this same bumper. Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like if installing a winch WITH the bumper at the same time, winch mounting portion would go on followed by the winch and then the rest of the bumper itself?

Yes, play around with mounting the winch before putting the bumper on, I'm sure each winch is different, I'll be doing the same thing this weekend since mine came in and I need to widen the holes on the left side bracket anyway. Enjoy the bumper!

Yes, the mounting bracket is separate and that's what you mount the winch on then put the bumper portion back on. I have documented myself doing this and will most likely post it in a future update.

I looking at buying a hooke front bumper for my 2018. What is your opinion of the quality since its been on your truck now for a while? Still like it? It looks like all the pieces are finished well from the video. Can you confirm? Thanks... love the Taco

So far so good. I've used my winch a ton since installing it and the bumper has taken the weight well. The only place where I'll need to clean/ reapply paint is where the c hooks go in for recovery since they rub on the inside. Only way to make them not rub would to custom fit some rubber in the hole then put the hook in. Metal is good, design is good. Paint is meh but it's only bedliner and you can reapply that easy without it looking too different.

How did you get the painted trim to stay under the headlights without that factory bracket?

They have two points to hold in, the fender and the grille. Stays in just fine! Hope this helps

It's a personal preference for sure, I like it, showing these big knobby tires is cool plus its better for clearance if you ever needed to get some grip on a big rock without hitting your bumper if you went differently.

Have you put a winch in yet? I just realized there is no hand entry enabling switching a winch lever or putting in the remote controller 🤷🏼

I'm not too sure but you can always try and send back stating there was a shipping issue or something. They're pretty easy to work with on returns if you keep the box around.

@ the end u mentioned a dual rear swining bumper from hooke............. sooooo is this again 4 the rear or the front of the rig here in the video............ & if it's 4 the front of the rig..... what's the main / big differances between what u have now & the dual swining 1.................... & what's all that cost for that complete bumper ........ we all heard u say this 1 was like 800 buck's ( u . s . ) asking cus i'm curios here mostly................. & will it also have 2 differant tracking # ' s tooooooooo lol lol

The video is for the front.... we install the front throughout the whole video. I think the front was 400 or something off amazon. The swing out bumper was around 800 and that's a different video on this channel. You will receive 2 tracking numbers for each bumpers if you get both.

Good deal, I’ve heard stories of similar built bumpers getting ripped off the frame with not even that much pull on them

@@wyattsnyder7970 yeah it’s pulled quite a few things, it had a lot to do on top of a Colorado mountain with 1ft+ deep snow. Started melting in the middle of the day and had to pull myself and 2 other Tacoma’s multiple times 😅 we were prepared but not expecting the snow to melt and ruin the day lol. (Iowa folk got wrecked). So yeah this barricade winch and Hooke bumper is doing great!

I have seen where people have put a 2nd gen Tacoma bumper on a 4th gen 4Runner. Since you have a GX470, which has the same frame as a 4Runner, do you think this bumper might fit the Gx470 with similar modification?
