this, this was a lot of help going on the Lancer forums you'll see a lot of dont do this and dont do that and " go buy a ralliart or evo if you wanna do that " very unhelpful bunch over there I got a 2011 GTS and you sir helped me a ton figuring out what I can and cant do without completely ruining my car, thank you and keep up the good work
Thanks man! I really appreciate it and I'm glad the video was able to help you! My best advice is ask yourself what your goal is, make a list of everything you need to get there, and then see if the price difference between that, and a ralliart or Evo is justifiable or not.
A supercharger has much less availability and is much less practical for the lancer platform when ralliarts exist for direct turbo part availability. As for NOS, if you check my channel, youll see that I actually did install a NOS kit onto this very car in the video. Nos is okay but the issue is that its an expensive consumable. so If you drive your car often enough and like to have fun, you can easily spend another $100 per week on nitrous. Not to mention that its much more dangerous for your engine than a turbo due to the instant power delivery and the fact that ideally you would have some timing pulled from your tune (which most dont).
ive got an 08 gts i bought last year after my tc got crucified. when i bought it it had an injen intake running into the wheel well, and ive since put a tsudo headerback on it. while its a cvt its been alot of fun, but i was wondering what else you might suggest for say, not just a bit of power, but actually building it for rally
Honestly, and I only say this because I have owned or driven all the variants of lancers: unfortunately there are some things you can do but they will not be worth it. The main reason for this is because the front wheel drive lancers are firstly front wheel drive, but also an open differential. So your actual grip that you will be able to lay down off-road will not be that great. If you’re looking to get more into rally, I would consider looking into something with awd as a base such as anything in the Subaru lineup, a ralliart or if you’ve really got the dough an evo
@@Huntsteven6 fair enough. i knew the fwd system was a big issue for rally, but id heard rumors of a possibility of putting an awd system into the gts? i understand it may not be worth doing just because of monetary or actual mechanical issues. figured id ask. maybe in a few years i can get my hands on something thats more capable.
@@Huntsteven6 my buddy has been through a few and theyre really fun, i am unfortunately behind the learning curve for manuals. hes been trying to teach me the basics on his 2nd gen dodge. shes more forgiving apparently
@@Huntsteven6 automatic as the Roads and traffic in Toronto aren't the best for manual in my opinion and i just prefer the comfort of automatic for a first car
@@Huntsteven6 i found for for 3.5k Lancer GTS 2010 wit 240,000km according to carfax the car was always serviced at Mitsubishi Scarborough but the max i would spend on a first car is 10k max as i used to look at the infiniti but now i am leaning towards the lancers
So ...I have a lancer gts 2.4 standard I been looking at nitrous. Can I leave it on for periods of time say 5 min at a time while playing against other cars? Or is it just like on and off in like 5 sec at a time? And NICE car man!
Hey man nice video 👍🏽, I have a lancer GT FWD with the 2.0 l mivec engine, I wanna do some performance mods to it. I was wondering where did you get your boost so that I can add something similar to my car just around 40-50 shots like yours
I have a Mitsubishi Lancer DE model, 2009, automatic. I believe it's CVT so I know I can't do much with it judging by the limitations, but I'd like to do the best I can to make it run better, add some HP on the way. I believe the DE runs with 150HP all stock, and I doubt I'll get it to 200HP, but I'd like a bit more. Any recommendations?
question, how the hell did you figure out whether your model is a DE or an EX because i cant figure out for the life of me which model i have, its a 2009 mitsubishi lancer 1.5 L FWD (base) 5 speed save the manuals with 109 horsepower (just bought it recently)
@@Kaiberus Base Model Lancers here tend to be know as DE. Which I believe means Definitive Edition. I’ve heard there’s SE which is Special Edition, then there’s GT or GTS. It all depends on the country as well cause in some places it’s known as EX or I’ve heard IO.
Americans, youknow the 1.8, 2l, 2.5, me an irish dude with my 1.5l thinking, how to make it faster hahaha. Dont think we got those models. For more fun, was it worth it? LIke cost wise? Dont have too much to spend, getting exhaust done finally after 3 years hahaha, but might get a short ram intake too. Sparks and stuff sound like simple enough mods to do but again dont want to spend a fortune on an 08 lancer. In ireland insurance is a pain the older a car gets. Im lucky im only paying 600euro with my insurance company, but another qouted 4k, and road tax is 390 a year. Rippoff ireland and all that hahaha.
Probably a bit late on this video hopefully you see it. I bought a lancer se. Im from europe and im struggling to find car parts. Do you know any websites that ship to EU. I just want to mod my car :(
Honestly, I don’t know how big eBay is over there but usually local sellers will post on eBay and sometimes you can find some pretty nifty things that you wouldn’t be able to have shipped to you
Hey man, loving your channel! Just a question as to where you got you wing from? I'm having a hard time finding a cheap (or fake) EVO wing in Canada cuz shipping sucks.
i have looked everywhere for a intake manifold for my 2008 lancer and cannot find one, i just keep finding gaskets and oem. does anyone know a website?
From what I know, they don’t make aftermarket intake manifolds for Lancers, you can always get an evo x manifold but the gains you will experience will not be that much
how did you tune your car i have a 2014 lancer gts 2.0 and cannot find anywhere online on how to tune it and i have a cold intake with catless with a h pipe into a single tip with a muffle and resonator delete and a 630cc fuel injectors
Hello Friend; I have a Mitsubishi Lancer 4B11 with manual transmission, I have made some modifications, for example; I have changed the exhaust manifold for that of the 4b12 engine present in the Lancer GTS, I have changed the exhaust line, I have opened the air intakes of the cylinder head and that of the exhausts as well. However I want to reprogram the computer to take advantage of those modifications; have you been successful modifying your ECO? (Sorry for my bad English) Postscript: How many more hp has nitrous oxide given you?
I have a gts 08 cvt tran, had muffler eliminated and glasspack installed,i replace few sensors and valves, previous owner didnt give proper maintance, anyways i want to know if changing exhaust system will work on it because sum times gets rpm high n i have to shift fast
Yes,but its when i use the manual like 1 shifting to 2 i feel like get it too fast in between, runs way better in manual than automatic actually.but have that rpm problem
These GTS lancers can be quick but I spanked one pretty bad in my Grand Prix GTP Comp G. He gave me the hit and I embarrassed him. He had all the mods you talked about.
@@Huntsteven6 True but mine weighs about 800lbs more. His initial torque was actually pretty impressive. First 100 feet I was only ahead slightly ahead until I got to around 4500rpm and then I really pulled away.
Correction: I found out later it was a clapped out EVO X gsr. I guess it sounded better for him to say it was a modded GTS and then getting gapped. It makes more sense now how he stayed with me for that 100ft. My comp g is modded as well. Evos are probably one of the most unreliable cars ever made (except maybe for the FD RX-7). I've never seen a healthy one on the road.
@@Huntsteven6 Except an Evo needs more care and a driver wiser beyond his years to prolong its longevity. Those Evos are wonderful but already stressing it's engine from factory. Whereas my engine is chilling on a 8.0:1 compression just wanting more power.
It’s not an evo x hood, although it is flattering that you say that hahaha... I design, make and sell my own replica evo x vents that stuck onto regular lancer hoods
@@Huntsteven6 so how exactly does that work u have a stock hood not an evo and u 3D printed them and stuck them on?? Can u plz explain a little more I’m very interested
Christian Chappell-Rottenberger I would recommend checking forums to see what people have done, and check power ratings of your transmission, if you have gears, you may be good, but if you have a cvt, I would not recommend due to temp issues
I have been modifying cars and am a mechanical engineer, I would say yes.. go watch my other videos.. what did you want me to talk about in this video? Timing? Modifying egr systems? Polishing valves? Ring gaps?
Yet, my ford mustang is more expensive and better than your car and straight of the manufacturing line, "Ford Mustang FastBack 1960s"... and I have one of the very few OFFICIALLY made right-hand-drive Mustangs.. Only a few hundred-thousand were ever made! Plus it costs in the 6 digit figure.... Though for my daily car when not taking my car to classic car shows, I use my brand new, "Ford Kuga PHEV 2.5 ST-Line X", 2021 reg.
@@Huntsteven6 I'm older than you... And I guess your dad never loved you and your mother, that's why your only response is a mothers remark, I feel sorry for you, I guess your dad walked out on you :( god bless you. So you never could hug him.
Rock Star 😂😂😂 you’re older than me 😂😂😂 that just brought it full circle, no more explanation needed, ps: my family is strong and healthy, no need to project what you didn’t have onto me 🙂
