Question of the Day ⚡ Do you think this $50 upgrade is worth it?? Let me know! 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 *** Check out the Deity V.Lav Pre-Polarized Lavalier Lapel Microphone HERE ➡️ amzn.to/3d3muLD
@@ThinkMediaTV In the video, was the mic attached to the camera when you were walking around in the house like the real estate agent? If one has the powerdewise mic should I still upgrade ? How do you feel they compare? Thanks.
Having the right gear does help, but don't forget that at the end of the day it's your personality and how much value you bring!!!! Kelly Stamps has the worst audio and she still crushes it on RU-vid.
I see being successful on RU-vid as not needing to be amazing at everything but being good enough in one or two areas. Personality can override audio quality. Being pretty can override personality. Drone footage can override a boring story. The more things you can stack in your favour, the better chance you have.
If that’s the case you are likely missing something when it comes to your audio settings. You might have the gain too high or might not be recording in a space that lends itself to the type of microphone you are using. For condenser, it’s best to record in a quiet, small boxy possibly soundproofed room. For a cardioid, you can get away with a bit more background noise as long as your input gain is low and you have the mic close to your mouth. But, a lot of times less is more with any microphone. Remember, it’s always easy to turn audio up and make it louder. It’s a lot harder to turn audio down or remove distortion from a sound recorded at too high of a gain. Audio in most cases is determined by input settings and post processing. A microphone at 100$ can sound just as clear to the average ear as a 1400$ Neumann, possibly even better if the engineer using the Neumann doesn’t know what they are doing. Cheers
in the real estate demo how did you get the audio from the mic into the phone from that far away? or did you record the audio on a second device and sync it in post?
Omar you didn't show how you were walking into the house but the camera is so far away, it almost looks like a wireless setup. 2:10 How were you able to talk through the Lapel while someone is recording you from 3 to 4 feet away? You even turned around a few times. Did you use one phone to record your voice from the Lapel and then used another phone to record the video and then synced it up in post? I know the cord is long, but I didn't see the cord coming from the lapel on your shirt to the phone video.
My channel started off barely getting any views for the first few months and then I changed the way I interacted with my audience and then I suddenly started getting thousands of views! Keep working hard and make sure to stay consistent, you WILL get there, it's just a matter of how much effort you put into your videos. Good luck everyone!
Is Boya By - M1 will work?? like I have it and I also use it but not inputting straight up into my phone but by using an App and it really works with that App. Here's the link if you want to check out👇 One is the Unboxing ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-u7Le6TlZSfE.html and Second is that working with the App ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YXVzI85nvKI.html
I just starred my channel it is very small. I am cooking the foods that we like, the way we like it. I am just using my phone, because it is all I have right now. I can't afford to buy anything except the few grocery items I need to cook. Good luck to everyone on this same journey. ❤ and god bless.
I do not like the sound of your boom mic. It spikes an annoying frequency in your voice and makes you sound nasaly. You sounded better with the $50 mic. Thanks
I bought this mic and have tried it with my computer as well as EOS Rebel Ti5 camera. Even when I have it positioned exactly like it is in this video (and how others use it), it still sounds really muffled and had someone else test it as well to make sure it's not my voice. Sound quality is significantly poorer than what every demo video with it makes it sound like. Am I missing something?
i had this question. i’m trying to do public videos and i want to use the mic on a separate iphone then the iphone i am recording on. i have no answers if this is possible yet
@@casonblosser yeahhhhh i have to line up the audio that was recorded on my mic with the video itself and i have to mute the video. this is the only way im able to do it
I have tried several lav mics at various price points with varying levels of success. For inexpensive corded, I was very pleased with the PowerDeWise Dual Interview Set. It comes with 2 lav mics, two extension cables a splitter, an adapter for smartphones all in a nifty case for under C$50. When I was ready to step up my game, I went with the Comica BoomX-D2 2.4G Wireless Microphone System. It comes with 2 Transmitters and 1 Receiver, 2 Lav Mics, and cords to connect to various cameras and smartphones. Each transmitter has a built-in mic or the Lav mic can plug into it. They transmit well over 50 feet with no issues. Each mic has an independent gain control and mute and the receiver has a headphone jack for monitoring. This set up kicks butt for under C$350.
I'm really hoping to get one of these mics for my covers on my lil channel. Hopefully with time I'll grow enough to convince my parents to invest in me lol
Man this is such a great video. Multiple comparisons in multiple scenarios, in real time as he's explaining it... my brain didn't have to work and stress about scenarios mentioned without examples 🙌
when your doing walking/talking shots do you just record it to your phone and film with a camera? or do you just have the cord going to the floor? or is there something else to use with it?
Dont buy this mic they are liars .. i bought it and its really sooooooooooo normal mic like iphone headphone mic .. i paid for it . Really i was trusting this channel but not any more
Yes sir, great review. The Deity improves the audio impresssively in your tests! Great value for just $50. How did we not see the 5 meters of cable when you were doing the "real estate agent" type test??
THANK YOU for this! I starting diving into my RU-vid channel in May and I'm finally starting to learn about lighting and sound. I usually like to not spend much time on tech and just want everything to work well, but I realize these things are super important for quality. So this is super helpful on the sound front!
I'm sure it's an awesome mic, and I spent the money on it, but turns out it's not compatible with my phone! Aarrgghh!! 😫 I'll throw it in a cupboard until my next phone upgrade (eventually).
Yesssss!!! My videos need this! Thank you so much for the tip! Question, how far away are you able to go? I have a baking channel that I started and am wondering how I can use this. I need this! Haha
Same here I just started a little cooking channel, cooking the foods we like and the way we like it. I am just using my phone to flim no mike can't afford anything yet. Good luck to both of us.
@@NansGlobalKitchen Yes I am alternating between my phone and camera (my sister and I share the camera) as well! Thank you so much and good luck to you too!! 🤗
@@NansGlobalKitchen I just subscribed to your channel!! You are such a cute grandma and your description for your channel just warms my heart!!!! :) Thank you for being awesome! God bless! :)
It's a little muddy in sound quality, but a much more personal, to the viewer, microphone, helping the viewer hear the creator as if they are right in front of the camera. A very in depth review, would definitely consider buying.
Fun fact is that this microphone works with my Android better without batteries. This micro-chip inserted in cable somehow interfere with phone software. When batteries are in, recorded voice is very quiet, and noise is more likely to appear. Without batteries output level (gain) of recordings is way better. Important: I'm sure that batteries are inserted correctly. Recorded tests audios are both from Deity microphone, none is from phone microphone
I just recorded on the Rode video micro and the audio is just terrible 😣 I’m ready to upgrade already! Thanks so much for the review ❤️ deity seems like a great brand!!
I have a cheap Lavalier mic (approx $12) and it works perfectly with my iPhone using the lightning adapter, but now that I’ve upgraded to m50, I use the adapter for the camera and nothing. No audio is registering and I’m at a loss, no clue if there’s a setting or something I’m missing . Any ideas?
Hi, did you buy the MM1? If so, how is it- how is the noise level. I got it too but there's so much noise when plugged into my DSLR- more than I get from my lavalier mic- so haven't been able to use it as I thought I would've.
This is a sign that you're right where you need to be. Stretch the corners of your mouth upwards. May all your worries wash away and all your RU-vid dreams come true! 💗 Dr. Liz
I am very surprised how good this Mic sounds. I assume you've connected it with a wireless transmitter (another $200)? I am using an external mic ($150) as well but it's not a lav so it sits in front of me on my desk (about 30 centimeters from my mouth) but I still get noticable echo from the room - not as bad as with integrated Mic on my cam - but still pretty bad. This test has convinced me, that for YT-purposes, a cheap Lav is better suited than the semi-professional Mic I am currently using :-/
Tried the cheap lav mics but have mostly been disappointed. Love my Rode WirelessGo and VideoMicros...expensive but worth it for quality and longevity IMO.
HELP!!! This was my favorite mic. I LOVEd the long cord. ( i am not a wireless person) But it has been discontinued! Can you please make a new video and recommend a similar product that is NOT wireless??? I need a long cord! Thank you!
I am wondering if you have a recommendation that is USB-C only! I can't see the Deity being any more useful to me than my Boya M1 because these mikes won't work on a Pixel 4 because of the USB-C interface. I have a Boya M1 which I love and it uses a 3.5 adapter, I have tried 4 different 3.5 to USB-C adapters but none of them works with the Pixel 4 and a bit of research showed me that it had something to do with the Audio vs Digital interface on the Pixel and so I wonder if there is a USB-C recommendation.
I have this small mic but it picks up tooooo much surrounding noises when I’m shooting my voice overs 🤦🏾♀️ but I can be heard nicely tho 👍🏾 For my nails lovers💅🏾 you can check my channel 😘🥰🌸
@ThinkMediaTV if you can help at all. I bought this mic and plugged it into my Sony ZV-E10. The volume was SO quiet! I had to bump the camera's input level to the max, and then it was STILL at -20dB or lower, VERY VERY quiet, and so much signal noise from having the gain maxed it was terrible. Do you have any ideas?
thanks for video. Would love to hear the Boya vs. Diety side by side. A lot of students and teachers are on a budget but make content so these kinds of videos are very helpful. Have a great day!
As an artist that teaches online, I'm looking for a wireless lavalier microphone, because I turn my back on the camera as I paint and my microphone I have doesn't pick me up as well. When I'm facing the camera it is excellent, but when I paint and am not facing the camera it isn't. The length of the cord is not long enough which is why I switched from a lavlier mic to one I attach to my phone. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance.
What do people think of this mic vs the Boya BY-M1 for use with android phones? I bought the Boya because it's very highly recommended but the audio is kind of crap compared to the on board mic on my Samsung Galaxy J7 and I'm wondering if I should return it for a better mic. The audio with my default app blows out the levels and is total garbage audio and it doesn't sound much better with Open Camera so I feel like I'm sitting on a useless product right now.
If you use a wireless lav microphone & want something better than a inbuilt mic or the cheap lav that comes with it usually? Look at the W Lab from Deity, review from my buddy below! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-upbHk9VuwKA.html
I so lack in this area. I watch all your content but missed this one. And in searching I found this. Of course it’s you guys. Now I’m wondering if I need to be wireless but then even more expensive. If I walk around a bit and not showing my feet does anyone think I can hide the cord? I use my iPhone to do video
Hi, Is someone following/filming you to get the close ups when you walked from outdoors? I did not see the mic cord hanging even though it was clipped to your shirt.
Idk why but unlike your Deity mine makes so much static noise. I can't record anything on my phone with it cause it sound terrible I'm in a closed closet with Blankets on the walls for insulation I have no idea why it records so much static.
Hi after recording using the deity mic plugged into the h1n the download to my laptop how do i removed the hising or buzzing (what eved it's called) from the background before adding the audio to my video? Great video, thanks for the help. I just subscribed because a quick scro Of some of your vids i notice you have a lot of helpful vids
I bought this mic and must be doing something wrong. I plugged it into my iphone with an adaptor but it doesn’t capture any sound. I am just using my regular camera video app but no sound gets recorded so I must not be doing something correctly
But is there any way to make my existing mic sound better? I can control the background noise but how do I reduce the echo? A video on that and replies would be appreciated.
Hi guys!! I'm looking to replace the lav mic that came with my Saramonic UwMic9 wireless system. Can I replace it with this deity lav? Thank you in advance 🎬
This is on sale for $39 on Amazon but is out of stock. There is one called the professional, is this one basically the same? And does it work with Android? Does this have a box that you wear or do you have to connect it to your phone? Need wireless for cooking videos.
