I love this thing! I got it earlier this year, and it's been a godsend. It reacts so well to boosting, and I'm using it for all the tones on the EP I'm working on right now. Absolutely stellar modeller for the money! Nice vid as always mate.
My dude, I just learned about the Ceres a few days ago through your channel and was really about to pull the trigger but was hesitant about it because that price. But you saved me with the joyo, it should suffice more than enough for my needs.
Hey dude! Yeah, the preamp house is a nice tool to have. The Ceres is the most amplike preamp pedal that I believe exists, but of course its more than a lot of folks want to spend haha. I'd recommend checking the used market too for a ceres though haha Either way, I hope you enjoy!
1st time viewer. Like your channel PVG. Positive energy 8;20 a little Pantera intro snuck in there haha. You in D.C.? JOYO,NUX, Mooer, have stepped up their game big time and that's really great for beginners and all players on a budget (like myself) although I have spent myself into economic ruin on the Creme de la Creme of gear. I do love the KSR, it's obviously a great pre-amp/dist. pedal and if you consider that it has 3 channels or 3 amps in a box, and am a sick man like myself you can justify the purchase. Now back to the JOYO Preamp House, it is a very nice option for anyone into the fine Martial Art of Mind Karate(Guitar) or Metal. I subscribed and Thank You for a very nice Demo and look forward to more. Peace-
@Pariah vs. Gear you should check out the Thermion Gasoline preamp. Just got the Ceres and that and the Gasoline is a VERY close 2nd. Its about half the price ceres too. Killer pedal for the price!!!
@@PariahVSGear yeah it was me!! I told you too check this one out and the mooer 150 lol I got the 150 it's okay but the great thing is if you're on a budget you can load 3rd party IRs
that's really a lot of bang for your bug! I have some older clone pedals from them (the ocd and crunch box copies). Since I mostly play metal I didn't want to spend that much money on rock overdrives... they sound really good! For this price the Preamp House is also a good backup solution for live. two channels of the joyo + your board definitely let's you finish your gig if your amp fails.
I have quite a few pieces of Joyo equipment. Joyo also made buying analogue drive clones super cheap, easy, and quality with the Baatsin. 8 analogue preamp clones in one pedal. Lots of bang for your buck. I play metal as well. I really only use a T808 with the gain at 0, but I like messing with the other drives here and there. I have a Joyo UZI that is pretty sweet, but I never use it. The Joyo gate of Khan is an amazing gate for metal too. Rn I'm running Baatsin and Preamp house into a Joyo Zombie 2. The metal tones are so good and my current rig cost less than 400 bucks. I can plug into an interface, IRs, board, or cab. I'm really digging it
I love my Synergy setup, but it's kinda bulky (and expensive) to bring into my work for jamming at lunch. Looks like this and a little PA speaker would fit the bill.
Dude, that was a VERY cool video. Question, I have a VHT power amp, a Pre-amp/Para EQ/Compressor rack unit, I broke my ADA Mp1 preamp, to replace it its like 350 bucks. Can I run one of those pedals your playing into my Pre-amp to the VHT power amp or do I need to buy an actual rack preamp again or can I plug in the pedal until I'm able to replace my ADA Mp1?
@@PariahVSGear yeah I should have been more specific about the Ada preamp that's broken, I would remove that and my question was if I could replace that with the pedal so you've answered my question thank you.
Dayuum that Mesa Boogie boosted sounded legit af.....hey pariah do you have any recommendations for an afforadable POWER amp? I have been eyeballin the 44 magnum by ehx is like to get one and maybe this preamp to replace my Orange jim root terror....
@@AaronMorgan666 hey man I loved the Jim Root Terror the only realistic reason I wanted to replace it ....was because I found that I mostly ran it clean and used my Friedman BEOD because that tone from the pedal was just exactly what I wanted. I would have kept the Jim Root had hard times of 2020 didn’t hit. I ended up getting the Orange Terror Stamp and it’s honestly just as good for how I use it. Honestly the stamp is better for me because I find it way easier to travel with (on my pedal board) than lugging around the lunch box and everything else. The Jim Root sort of lacked low end (unless you crank the power section but then it gets muddy and hard to solve without a really nice boost like a Fortin 33) also the stamp actually has more of probably due to a solid state power section being alil easier to get low end at lower volumes.
I wonder if adding an additional EQ pedal into the joyo would help you get close to the sound of the ceres. I mean, if you could, that would be one hell of a deal as far as I am concerned.
I'll have to check it out, not sure. This pedal definitely seems to be more geared to going into a power amp or direct, but it probably does pretty well up front too.
wouldn't a preamp not have a presence but an amp sim have one? Add the Two Notes cab-m or something that has power amp with presence and see what you get.
@@PariahVSGear - Awesome. What would you suggest for someone looking for a kick-ass preamp? I don't want something that everyone generally does. I checked quite a lot of preamp pedals like Mooer Preamp live, Joyo, Amptweaker, etc. I liked Joyo Preamp honestly but between Ceres and this, my mind Straight away goes to Ceres. The tones were insane on Ola's demo and other videos as well on RU-vid.
Yeah, I definitely think the Ceres is one of the best. Also check out the amptweaker tightmetal pro 2 and fatmetal pro 2, or the victory Kraken. Those are what I consider the best ones. Other cool options are the ISP Theta and the Moore Preamp Live. I really enjoy those as well.
@@ajayburra6958 I really like my ISP Theta Preamp pedal. It has two distortion settings you can set differently and toggle between them. Lots I'd gain.... It has a second channel before the distortion channel that you can use to clean boost the distortion, or just as a clean preamp on its own. Both the clean and distortion channels have sweepable mids, plus it has a built-in ISP Decimator! Most importantly, it sounds great! A great deal of quality functionality in one box for the price.
The video my wallet needed to see lol. Hey man. It would be cool to see a friedman vs ksr set up too. It's been on my mind alot lately. I'm just trying to figure out if the extra 100 bucks is worth it.
Hey dude! The BE OD deluxe? I sold it a while back haha. As a preamp pedal the Ceres out does it, no question. If going into a clean channel though, yeah it sounds comparable to the ceres.
