A bit of feedback from me: you can do something similar to what Philosopher used to do, which is build a list of more recommended to least recommended characters per trait, per node, per dimension. I saw you show a bunch of global characters, but only made one clear recommendation with Spider-Weaver. Not everybody has built all of their characters to T15+, so they can't just go and pick any character. Most people come to these videos looking for a recommendation of 6-7 characters, so they can see what they have built and where they should invest. I hope you take this as positive criticism. Cheers.
I was able to clear DD5 city nodes a couple weeks ago with, Shang Chi, squirrel girl, she Hulk, Mr Negative, spider man 2099. Your advice was spot on!!
@Stinky I would still do She Hulk, Mr Negative, 2099 or Shang Chi. But now I would make Firestar & Gwen Pool my other 2 characters since they are newer, they will probably be better for longer
I'm in the middle of my first DD5 atm. Brawn, Hulk, Spider-Weaver, and Gambit were all very solid. Nemesis was pretty good. Got through global very easily. City was a slog with minimal power Shang-Chi and She-Hulk doing little. Mr Negative, Squirrel Girl, and Kingpin all did pretty good. Deathpool made this comp challenging but I did get through it very slowly.
honestly, i think the most underrated thing on this list is using apocalypse saga related characters. with the gold and teal gear from both runs of dd5, if you use all the apocalypse related characters possible, you only have 9 characters left to teal gear for baby apoc. with this in mind the only thing to chase is iso 4, so you can get apoc and dormammu really close to each other if you do this. not to mention, all the horseman related characters have to be (relatively) farmable for all the sagas, and most already are. horsemen teams are also easily top 5 teams with apocalypse being the best team right now, and will be the case for a while. there is no reason not to use these characters. they will and should be your highest level characters until you get apocalypse, so until dd5 there’s no reason to use anyone else you don’t need, and if you go for max apoc with all the costumes, you need them g17, which is only gonna take longer if you don’t prioritize horsemen related characters.
the best possible teams with all this in mind for dd5 are: city: she hulk, (the other 4 are personal preference, prioritizing shang chi, squirrel girl, and maybe spider-man 2099. best section to save mats in, since it’s the hardest section anyways) global: psylocke, dark beast, weaver, nemesis, gambit cosmic: deathpool, kestrel, eternals, heartless strange legendary: 4 horsemen, magneto
and i know this is not using gear efficiently, however most recent events have been giving a lot of teal mutant and bio gear. in my opinion playing a slightly longer game to get both apoc and dormammu before most of your arena pool, is the best way to approach all the dark dimensions now. up until dd6 at least. unless you plan on quitting after dd5 like boilon mentioned, playing the longer game for apoc, to get dorm early isn’t a good idea contrary to the videos recommendations. prioritizing dd5 over apoc will only slow you down for max apoc, and possibly a dd6 that i think could come out in the near future.
i know this is a long read, but if you’re interested in prioritizing your mats in this game, i think this is some of the best advice considering how little there is for dd5 on youtube at the moment
King Pin minions in DD5 G16 do more damage per hit than Shang Chi and it's 3 attacks in a row. I heard from someone running him with Mr Negative make city nodes cake walk. Archangel dies in DD5, even at level 90, quickly and it's better to take Shuri with Omega Red, Red Hulk, Rogue and MLF. You can practically auto legendary with that team.
I agree. I used same lineup. I did all legendary nodes in one run and had to revive archangel for the last 2. He's so squishy there. Everyone else did great. So, might not really need sub out archangel with unless you happen to have another legendary ready. Especially since you need him geared for apocalypse.
I don't necessarily think it's about "which characters are best to one-shot nodes", it's more "which characters are long-term worth your gear outlay to do this two and done game mode?" If you want Apocalypse you have to have Archangel at lvl 85 T16. If you have to choose between gearing him, Omega Red and Shuri (I know they're separate gear types but you get my drift) then value wise it's Archangel.
Omega Red still solid pick for dd5. I use horseman and him, all i have to do is revive archangel here and there and legendary is done in one day. Just don't have spare resources for shuri.
I will say, Mr. Negative is great in node 1 and 3 of city, but I had to sub him out on node 2 of city. The deathpool just keep feeding off of his summons. If you bring him, you would probably need to bring a 6th for node 2.
Great advice as I use this now but there is one issue with global and dd3 and that is node 8. My team was killed off. Weaver, rescue, IM-IW, Gambit and NC.
I'm on the city levels. Right now squirrel girl isn't built up very much. Right now I'm thinking she-hulk, SM2099, spider-noire cloak and dagger. What do y'all think?
I did dd5 city nodes just a week ago. I used 2099- mr negative - kingpin- Shang chi- squirrel girl, and basically took me 2 days for the 3 nodes. Btw i have only shang on 7-7 stars , the others are 5-5 arround 130-150 k power
at the end of the day use who you can get to g16. if you are starting out then yes this is a great resource but for me who is already in dd5 vs being in say dd3.....i just dont have the uniques. took up spiderweaver only to stop cause i only have 6 pieces for her unique and now im on the finale global node using doom, sharon, sam, emma and kate. kate and doom were already g16 and the others were the easiest and got me through dd4. but second run? farming for teal gear then using the full secret avengers team and spider weaver. i do have gamora at g16 so my goal is do infinity watch but with her being skill cant do moondragon so doing gamorra, phyla, captain marvel and eternals. three of them are already g16 and i just need to get phyla and captain marvel to 85 and they will be as well. gold and training materials are whats keeping me back with bio, tech and mystic characters cause i got plenty of gear for them since i've just been upgrading mutants.
Man I wish I had seen this before I saw your previous video recommending Web Warriors for City :p If I have them up DD4 ready, would it be recommended to pivot to Underworld for DD5?
Hey Boilon, in terms of City, would it make sense to use Miss Marvel to synergize with Squirrel Girl instead of 2099? I understand building 2099 will be a good thing due to the fact that you will be using him and Weaver in a lot of places, but I would think that Miss Marvel's synergy in the team would be a bit more beneficial. Let me know if you agree or not.
Not worth it. Miss Marvel will just die doing very little damage, not taking a whole lot of damage and doesn't really do much end game except with a team of characters that fall off once you have unlocked MLF.
@@marzix427 This is false, Ms Marvel and Squirrel Girl do great, I recently one shot the city nodes including them two, which I couldn't do back in the day. 2099 is still worth taking to 16 as well. Bio gear is also plentiful after 2 completions and doing Pocket Dimensions.
Hi, love your video! And do you have any guidance for new player? I'm kinda confused what the best hero for early game, because i can't really progressing in the campaign, and when i see the ladder board, the hero they used is hard to get.
Only if you have them built up. I still wouldn’t build them from scratch , it’s a bit of a bait trap in my opinion still as it’s specifically a crucible rework not their other game modes.
City sucks regardless what you take. 2099 is squishy and kingpin is ok. I’m 10/15 on the portraits and still takes a couple of days to clear city I use a mix of Shang, web warriors, 2099, and squirrel girl. I have one shot global with Doom, weaver, Sam, Sharon and Maria though.
For the city part I have(from left to right) Cloak, Shang-Chi, Squirrel Girl, Ghost Spider and Scarlet Spider. ISOs for each are Skirmisher, Raider, Striker, Raider and Raider. I almost have Shang to 80. Do you think the ISOs are good or do you recommend changes?
Web Warriors for sure. Use Mister Negative and Kingpin. Or you could wait for the patch coming up and see if there's anyone that could fill in at all. I don't think web warriors have good value, in fact Cloak doesn't either. I would use the recommendations I made in the video. Most of your choices are outdated.

I used him in my runs, he did okay when he could open with his ult, but there were so many cleanses in those nodes, his debuffs got cleansed all the time it seemed. I would not have taken him if I had not already G16 him back when I was using symbiotes still in Doom 1.0
