i have that hearing protector. i use it for woodworking and when i shoot. you are correct, you feel like you’re in a vacuum when you put it on. so yes, it does what it was meant to do. reduce noise a lot. when that leight thingy comes up with a 34 or higher nrr, i might consider them depending on the price. it will be tough to beat a $20 34db nrr rating.

Good review, I just use earplugs now but I'm looking for the over the ear muffs, 20 bucks is a good investment to save your hearing.

I always wear earplugs with my HL Impact Sport. I'm definitely going to look into these.

Never aim your hand clap in the direction of anything unless you intend to destroy it.

Could I use these to try and block out my family members/background noises inside even though they are meant for shooting? I was thinking about wearing them with my AirPods Pro to try an level up my noise cancelling.

The filler inside is the important stuff electronics in the pelt or and Howard Leigh's leave no room for filler. Earmuffs with more filler and thicker walls are superior but don't look "tacticool" also how's the noise reduction when wearing eye pros as the stems tend to break the seal and allow sound to seep in.

Can you hear the clapping sound on those Purple Impact ? Are they better for noise canceling to hear nothing ? I'm searching one for quiet and peacefull sleeping

I'll be getting these for my sleep because I'm a light sleeper & have had to listen to the townie people revving up their engines, doing street racing & burnouts every single night during Spring & Summer. These people literally do this every night & it's so loud. Idk how anybody else sleeps or doesn't complain about it. I'll also be using ear plugs with the ear muffs because I value my 7 hours of sleep every night.

The "straight on mute" is perfect for me. Now, I am wondering if its "Straight on mute" for a person with normal hearing, or a little hearing loss due to shooting alot

You know that decibels are not a linear scale? 34 dB vs 23 dB is not a difference of 150%

I have the howatd lights and they dont work for me.. i have a smaller head they arent tight enough.. and i wear shooting glasses and these do not seal correctly with glasses.. so im going to order these and try these out

HD 280 pros are only 2 db's lower rating ... you should check them out

I really like your channel, I've only subscribed to like 7 channels and yours is one. I've always appreciated your reviews but I feel like this one is misleading. like you got paid for this advetisement. I found these exact ear muffs a few months ago and bought them from Amazon. while they are great they aren't the noise canceling ear muffs you make them out to be. I can hear conversations with them and could most definitely hear myself clap. as a matter of fact my range bag was right next to me as I watched this so I pulled them out. the phone case I have on my phone is dust proof and has muffled the speaker on my phone tremendously and I could still hear you in the vid with my volume at 50%. don't get me wrong, these are great and I gave them 5 stars and would recommend them but you made them out to be the best straight up noise CANCELING earmuffs which they are not. They do tone things down quite a bit but come on, let's be honest here. They muffle noise but you can still hear with them on.

Noise reduction ratings are cherry picked dude. Basically the fatter the ear pro are the more protection you'll have.

Nothing wrong with purple. Definitely worse options of Howard Leights. Pink and teal come to mind.

if you are going to wear non electronic earmuffs better just wear those silicone earplugs

Comparing these to cheap electronic active ear protection isn't a fair comparison at all. Of course the electronic ones are going to be more expensive. It wasn't mentioned that you can hear people talking perfectly clear with the electronic ones, you can't with these standard one. So far from the videos I've watched on this channel it seems he is just shilling for people who send him free stuff.

34 db of protection ! Therefore, 34-7 = 27 divided by 2 = 14 dB of protection !

the pro for sho is def NOT 34db!! I have bought them. If you want to "shut the world out" like he says forget about those. I work in a noisy environment. these don t block anything, whether it s the ringing phones, the doors slamming, the chairs and tables being pulled, someone in heels going down the stairs, someone laughing or having a conversation or even the motor bikes going down the street two floors below. i CAN HEAR EVERYTHING!!! I am very disappointed. And yes I am wearing them correctly. I dont know it this person was paid for advertsment or recieved better quality once or if the manifacturers are just cheaping out on the material now, but it clearly not 34db. more like around 20 db.
