I rushed to get this video out by Black Friday ... and then found out Thanksgiving and Black Friday are next week. 😅 In any case, happy holiday season! Lots of discount info in the video description. By the way, to those who requested stickers from me and haven’t received them after 6 weeks, please let me know on IG (@dkwan). Thanks!
@Mark Brown - You can use discount code DK50 for an additional $50 off on top of their current promo price. Actually it depends on your order total - if your total is over $600, use DK60. If over $700, use DK70. $70 off is the maximum.
If Boosted dropped the price and made an new remote with a display (like Wowgo), I'd opt for the Boosted. Better service, faster shipping, quality and brand name.
Mmm I hear Boosted has great customer service but man... they're taking forever to respond to my claim. They've only responded once and I may not get a response to my follow up question for another 6-7 days
I started with the WowGo 3 because of your videos and it's been a crazy and interesting year to get into E-skating. I haven't looked back since. This video is appreciated because I'm able to share it with people that keep asking me about my boards and wana know how to get into E-skating. I love the amazing work you do, please don't loose passion for this community after COPPA takes affect. Be happy, be safe, and carve on bro 🤙🤙
There is this guy Daniel Kwan on youtube that is sponsored by backfire and recommends them everytime even tho we know that their batteries or esc brake after 1year and their customer service is non existent. Experienced it myself.
John Miller my batteries didn't give me 3 months of use, before failing. The esc failed, but they fixed it. The controller always freezes, & stops working. But otherwise, a nice riding board, unfortunately it's collecting dust the last year.
I vouch for the meepo v3. I LOVE IT being able to turn it on by just dropping it on the ground is amazing. I fell really in control I have never had a very serious fall on it or any death wabbels. For its price I don’t doubt it’s the BEST board out there
Hal Jurgensen yeah I agree but to be fair that speed can be lethal. Several times have I accidentally pushed the cruise control button which have caused me a decent about of scratches. But I’d still recommend it
I'd go with the Stealth for the fit/finish and customer service. Even out of warranty Boosted takes care of their boards. I loved my wowgo but its in a different class compared to the polished boosted's. But for the money they are great and its awesome to have competition throughout the price range.
Between wowgo 3x and boosted stealth I would have to find the board with the better battery and range. Honestly range and battery degradation are more important to me than their other differences.
I would say Boosted since they are a U.S Company, makes logistics easier and not having to talk to someone across the world. My commute would be about 2 miles, so not really worried about range, but I do worry about durability, I know that they all require maintenance, but I want to make sure the board works, I look more at the wowgo 3x, but I have read some reviews and seen some videos of their boards not working after they only put like maybe 50 miles on them. I also live near the mountains, so water and snow in thr winter are conditions I would like to see the board go through. Anyways, great channel! You were the one who inspired me to start investing into buying one, I have a car, but sometimes it just doesnt seem practical to take when my wife and I have to share a car. It can make commuting difficult, and the bus system here is great...but its on their schedule.
The Boosted Board simply because of the quality! Quality gives you confidence in the product and I own a Boosted V2 (original) and the Exway pro with both drives and the original meepo V2
I like Unlimited because it's a freestanding kit that you can mount to anything. Let's you mount it to boards that are built to go fast like the landyachts evo. Plus it's fast (25+mph) and goes 10+ miles easily
Dan I’ve had a hub motor board Wowgo 3 and never again.... they are so harsh over bumps it breaks your heart. I have an Evolve GTR that’s awesome but it weighs about 600kg so next is a Wowgo 3X 😃
This video was a huge help. Just moved to Philadelphia and been trying to find a good electric skateboard. Didn't even know any of these brands existed tbh and at these crazy good price points until I saw your video. Thanks dude 👍
I spent extra money (prob 800 more) for the boosted stealth as opposed to exway or wowgo because of reliability and trust. Eskating in nyc daily is dangerous enough and you only have one life to live that I didn't want any concern over a disconnection or a sudden brake lockup. Also I wanted customer service for any issues that might arise.
Been riding a wowgo 2s that I deck swapped and put meepo 100mm hub motors on for over 2 years and had absolutely no issues. I put over 1000miles on the battery and ESC and it never skipped a beat, I can still get 13 miles out of one charge. The reliability is not an issue, beyond that hubs require basically no maintenance and are theoretically less likely to fail because everything is enclosed.
My blitzart board is actually really good.. I measured 17-18mph and goes for 12-13miles. I think i paid around $200 or less and I’ve been using it for over a year now.
I like your video, however many people look for the low price (sub500) boards, and most of them suck. I have blitzart, and skatebolt. Both have serious problems and had to RMA as well as they lack in the experience. However I do like skatebolts deck. Then I got my first 900$ boosted mini x and it just works , the batteries are there, just no bs on them. It's so easy. Also I weigh 85kg and I still get the 12 miles they advertise. Don't just discard it. Yeah it's not the most lightweight, but if you are a taller person , picking it up and going to metro is the easiest thing and it doesn't hit the ground or you. Just a couple notes. Thanks!
I spent a lot of time researching before picking up my newest board and it's incredible, the Bustin Boards' Dualomo X. It's got huge range, plenty of hill climbing torque and a scary top speed and it's $900 which I feel is a bargain for the quality and performance.
I’m getting the ownboard w2 as It has amazing range, and a great top speed for the price, and has belt drives. And If you get the bigger battery for the better range the price is still $620. That is so good for the value especially considering they updated the remote so It has a led display now. That’s what really made me get it.
This video was spot on for what I have been dealing with the past few days trying to find out the best boards out there. First you are absolutely right about the google search, been there done that... all those boards they mentioned were a total waste of time. After seen your video now I have even changed my mind once again on what board to get! Initially I was leading towards the Meepo NLS Pro, then found out the Backfire G3 and I was more pleased about that one because of price and local sale here in EU, but now after watching your video I'm now more interested in the WowGo 3x! Last time I was looking into electric boards was like 2 - 3 years ago... they all sucked and only Boosted Board was the good one but I always thought they were way over priced... but now I'm really impressive on what all these brands are building! I am so excite to finally get a board at a decent price! Thanks a lot for making this video!
I highly recommend the aeboard ae2. It's got a max speed of 29mph slower depending on your weight. And a range between 13 miles to 18 miles. With a flexy deck and 90mm wheels. All this for only $329 :)
@@tr4nsist0r92 I haven't needed anything from them; they respond hella quick every time via FB. A few things happened and they never let me down. The wait does suck though.
Nice man thats a good no problem report to hear from someone about to buy the wowgo3. How do you feel about the bump criticism. People say its hard over bumps but ive been a skateboarder for 20 years. How is it for reals?
I've the boosted and just recently got the exway X1 pro riot. The boosted can't compare to the exway. The exway is just better built, faster, better app and also has the option to go hub drive as week as belt drive. The turn on from remote is a great feature. Boosted has great customer service but the lack or range and the cost is just not worth it anymore.
The Inboard M1 had the ability to turn the board on and off with just the remote. It also had built-in headlights & taillights. It's a shame they couldn't iterate and come up with another board, because man, it was actually pretty good.
Am I making the right decision? Bought the brand new Boosted Mini X for $625 OTD My priorities are below: - Portability - small form factor - convenience - practicality - budget under $1000 Bought me a e scooter from Walmart for $148 and it does the job from point a to b but definitely not practical nor convenience to take between trips ie between banks, grocery stores, bus station, and stuff.
Daniel Kwan thank you!! I honestly have been looking at your review of the Boosted Mini X specifically on such disadvantages about it. I haven’t seen one and I imagine you love the Boosted Mini X except for the price?
Good video. It amazed me as well how when one googles top electric skateboards and random companies populate. Who came up with those list 🤷♂️🤷♂️ Your MIS is solid. Just got my Exway X1 Pro Riot about a week ago and I am in love. It is one of my favorite boards right now. Wowgo and Exway are offering a lot of value. 🤙🤙
This video is full of useful information, that one with the super flex deck was pretty sick. I have the boosted mini x, great board, but it doesn’t have the speed and range I really want. 20mph is not fast enough in chicago.
Wowgo would need to improve their shipping and support, tomorrow marks exactly one month since i ordered and i'm still waiting.. else i don't know, the range is better but as someone said just for the casey neistat vibes...
Between poor and less poor is Meepo Mini 2 . At $400 , its $200 less than Meepo Mini 2 ER, which is apparently super fast. Im trying to figure out the best value.
I just got a used inboard m1 for $150, and for the price I can’t beat it. It’s gotten me into this eboard shit though I really appreciate a video like this 🥺
Exway vs Backfire. Which one would be recommended? Backfire G3 and Exway riot. I live in Seoul,Korea and some of the streets are not as flat and smooth as other countries. Aspalt roads are not as smooth.
Thank you for another great video. The question on Wowgo 3X or a Stealth is interesting. Some things still speak for Boosted; Hobbywing is great and smooth but the control/remote of Boosted is still superior. The jerk filter is great for safety, fell off my Ownboard W1 when charged by a dog and jerked the throttle. On my Mini S it feels like my thumb, braking and board are the same unit. The enclosures are better on the 3X but still much better looking on Boosted. Finally the support, availability and shipping times are better since Boosted has a centre in Europe. But, certainly not sure I would buy a Stealth over the 3X. One other thing, when you talk about the torque of a Boosted you have to state with one, not just your friends gen 2. Gen 1 or 2, Dual plus, Plus or stealth? Also at which speeds you want and measure torque, My Backfire G2T is dead from the first bit in Torbo mode but fairly ok at a bit of speed.. Thanks
So let's say that the price goes down for Boosted...does that mean the service quality goes down with it? I mean, there's not a rule stating that the service can or can't parallel this scenario, but we're talking about the baseline board itself - not the company. I would go with Wowgo, personally because of my experiences with their services. Their services are pretty alright, and the prices are a bonus too. I would mainly choose Wowgo because of their boards and quality thereof. Boosted has a quality exterior, but the range is just not it chief.
Another great video. Those lists exist for Amazon affiliates. So they have none of the interest of the buyer but just want to make money. Perhaps id add the verreal rs 30q and miles rampage, the verreal has an insane value and insane specs for money, its almost better than evolve in every way. The miles rampage is an evolve gtr bamboo but for less and with a hobbywing esc.
All the boards that you just mentioned are all products of China. Now days when people saw boosted , they automatically think it is the apple of eboards, but I personally think that exway can definitely exceed or maybe take over boosted’s market position( they are so EXPENSIVE) Exway (1) belt drive (2) not flexy but very stable (3) app included, adjust acceleration and breaking . I have tried one of my friend’s inboard (hub ) , the breaking is very weak compare to the exway ( X1 pro - hub ) , I have been riding my Exway x1 pro for 4 month now to school every day, don’t need to change my belts ( currently 120 miles , they last ) , acceleration and breaking are just fantastic, btw you can finance your Exway board , you don’t have to pay off your board once. Want stable ride and quality ( built to last ) , get X1 pro riot !
I like the description of your product but you should include the price because this is the most important consideration for people to decide on the item.
love your honesty mate, your reviews are by far the best in the esk8 scene... well yours and Lee Wright. Jay boston is OK he just needs to learn about SPEED!!!
I have the meepo awd pro and it is stupid fast. (35 mph) Paid 850$ for it and it came with shred lights. Only complaint was it took about 2 months to receive.
For me it's a tie between Meepo and Exway, but Ex doesn't have flex decks. I have concerns about wet ground, I wouldn't be riding it in this case for fun, it'd be to get to school. I chose Meepo and Exway because you don't have to turn the board on manually. I guess I could get some rubber or all terrain wheels for Exway. Something nice about Exway is also how thin it appears. It might actually fit these skate racks here at ASU. I have no idea about any of this, completely new. Any thoughts?
Vestar mini or ownboard m1. I would shrink the wheels on the vestar for more acceleration (you don't wanna go that fast on a shortboard), but I heard their flywheel pulleys dont fit other wheels.
Yea, so objective - your videos save a lot of time needed to do research. Thanks for doing this, it is a great help for everybody new and even the ones already in the electric boarding.
Ok I really need some help here! I am skateboarding since I was 10 years old (now 25), longboarding since I was 18 years old. I mostly like to ride downhill, my highest clocked speed was 72 km/h going downhill in a City in Germany. I really enjoy high speeds and a little bit more "stiffer" boards. My main focus with this thing would be to commute from Home to generic everyday locations (supermarket, parents home, gym, etc.) This video is definitely by far the best compiled "Best of E-Longboards", but while it is the best, it also toughens the decision for me. Ah, I need to add that I prefer some longer distances ofc, but that isn't such a big deal, if other points are overshadowing it :D Thanks for the help ^^ (btw: I am 1,90m and weight around 85 kg)
@@DanielKwan Thanks for the reply! I actually researched until now and I think i might have only 3 competitors left: WOWGO 2s/3/3x , really can't decide which one to favor with the price aspect and their actual datasheet, I used by TalonSei google doc table. Weight isn't a problem tbh, I actually look for a stable/smooth/quick ride with some good range and quality! But I want to stay around 350-500€ !
@@DanielKwan I compared them all and Wowgo has actually a sale going on: WOWGO 2s with replacement tire motor and spare wheels for 390$ compared to the 3 which is on sale for 399$ and lastly the 3x is at no sale at 749$ . I mean they improved like the general build (trucks, wheel, remote) but still on the data sheet they don't really have the innovation to the 2s, if you get my comparison. Like iPhone 6 kinda feels like an iPhone 8. Thanks for the reply again! You rock dude. Actually I am on the verge on buying one now. Waiting for you input :D
My main issue with the 2S would be the trucks. They were fine when the board came out 2-3 years ago because all budget boards had bad trucks back then. Today if you’re gonna consider the 2S, I think you should look at the Backfire G2 Black as well. Cost about the same, more wheel/sleeve options, Caliber clone trucks, great warranty and aftersale support.
I'm still using this as a guide, i like wowgo, exway but they don't ship to Hawaii, my second choice is Meepo, shipping fee is a little higher and it takes 25-35 days. Really sucks to be in this state to be honest.
Hi Daniel, thanks for the great video! I love the board tips a lot but your camera/lighting setup is also dope! Can you do a video on that or tell us your setup?
i subbed just because this was a legit video. thank you. soon as i heard reddit i jus knew i got it ! thanks again! i’ll come back to support((: young channel you
Great! I am looking for a small and light board like Bolt Motion. Of course it would be better if those boards had enough power to climb the hills. Can you recommend boards? I wish you make a video on this subject. Your video is really great. Thanks.
Hello Daniel, hope you are well. One thing you could help with seeing as you have lot of experience with the Chinese companies is to talk about customer support and quality. How are the delivery times of these companies right now? Heard on forums people having quality issues with the Ownboard Bamboo AT and also extremely long delivery times even before the virus and very bad communication. I think these things are important also not just how well the boards perform. Is Backfire better at support or is that just a rumor? Thank you
If I have the money and I’m 100% ok with it am I making a bad/ignorant choice to buy the Boosted Mini X? I like the range and top speed and portability
At least Boosted upgraded their bluetooth radio after they got consulted by hackers at 2015. You can go through dead zones without losing connection and can't get hack. The other brands haven't addressed this issue and could cause problems for riders that may lose connection at high speeds.
Hey man, been doing a little research on e skateboards. I currently only ride a onewheel, because of this some of my routes I found/ride can be a little rough. If budget is not a problem what board would you buy, would probably want a board with the option of going onroad and off road if need be. Have looked at your reviews and was leaning towards either the vestar black hawk, evolve gtr or ownboard. But if you have a better suggestion it would be appreciated. Doing some diy is also not an issue. Thanks from Australia.
Thanks, appreciate the video, feel a bit overwhelmed with options. I'm a beginner weigh 60kg & looking for something that will suit vanlife for getting around. If you could suggest something that would suit I'd be very grateful 👌
