Oh my goodness it’s gotta be the El Niño and I just heard it Will intensify through fall and winter causing a very wet cold winter! We are going to be 108 tomorrow and it’s so humid our real feel has been close to 119! Gah! The bugs are loving it!
thank you so much, it's really interesting! I have cats, what can I use as a flee repellant? here we have lots of flees, I comb them everyday and I heard about using diatomaceous earth but some say it's not safe and I cannot spread coconut oil on them... what could I use? thank you so much for your lovely and very informative videos :)
Food grade diatomaceous earth is safe, just make sure you use it in a well ventilated area. I dust my cats outside. :) I’ve been using it for over 15 years with no problems at all! Thank you so much for your kind words!!
While using the DE to get rid of fleas can it go on areas that are possibly hot spots/irritated areas or will this irritate the areas more. Did you say it would take a good month to rid of fleas? If so would it be normal to still see them scratching during this time? I am so close to putting on the chemical Stuff to give her relief but it also breaks my heart to know it can do more damage. Thanks for your help!
Yes absolutely it is actually very beneficial for sores hotspots and wounds! It’s best to coat the sores well to keep flies off! It does take up to 30 days to break the lifecycle of the flea, but it will kill the fleas on your dog in less than 24 hours. New fleas will be jumping on so dusting often is important! You’ll hVe less and less daily! It’s great stuff!
Hi, I'm sorry for another comment. I was wondering if you think the sun gives cats and dogs sun cancer? I have a fully white cat with pink ears and nose. I was wondering if you think I should put sunscreen on his ears and nose, or if you do anything to protect against uv for your cats? Or would you recommend anything or is it not a big deal?
Oh I love comments! Well it’s not just the sun itself but it’s the damage the sun does if there is repeated from burning. White animals usually have light skin tones and do burn easier! I own a white boxer and his ears have burnt quickly. I try to keep him out of the hottest part of the day sun. I don’t use sunscreen on my animals but you can make some that is natural.
I have a question about worms and cats. I had a cat that probably weighed five pounds, and she had lost some weight, but still seemed to be running around. I gave her DE for a week and then got really busy. She was still active at night, but my question is do you think whatever worm she had killed her? Can worms eventually kill cats? I'm only asking, because I'm not sure if I didn't worm her long enough as she died within a week of after I gave her DE for a week. I saw someone else comment about this, but I'm just curious if not giving her DE longer than a week is what killed her?
Hmmmm no I don’t think from the sound of your situation she died of worms. Yes a bad parasite infection could kill a cat but you would see a massive decline, lethargic and coming to the pint that cat can not eat or get up to walk. If your cat is outdoors is there any chance she ate some poison? It’s a big problem for cat owners, they can eat a mouse, rat or even a bird that has been poisoned Or even drink a little antifreeze. Usually if they are active and all of a sudden die it is poisoning. Food grade diatomaceous earth is so safe and works so well, I’d imagine you did her all the good for the week she took it. I’m very sorry for your loss! ❤️
I'm think the DE killed her. I'm sorry but if she died within the week of treatment then that was it. All cat and dogs get worms it's pretty much constant because of the fleas. Every month they need to be treated for fleas or now every 3 months with the new treatments. I'm sorry for your loss 😢. Now I know not to give any to my babies. Just like with any other product every human and animal have different systems and use with caution. And make the best decision for your own. I was just about to make a purchase but after reading this I know I won't now. Thank you for sharing.
Oh I do not think food grade diatomaceous earth killed her cat, it’s 100% non toxic and in almost all our grain products. Now if she gave her cat something different like industrial or ag grade DE that can harm you, food grade is made for consumption by animals and people. Do some research, it’s wonderful stuff! But as I said it must be pure food grade DE!
I’ve read a few testimonies of using DE for lungworms in cats. I did read that it can take 90 plus days with daily doses to get rid of them. My guess is they cycle through the intestines to the lungs so you’d have to catch them moving through the intestines. If you do DE I’d maybe add another herbal blend as well! I think there is a blend made as a natural antibiotic but it has wormwood among other ingredients that will deworm as well. It would be best to do both but don’t give the DE at the same time, at least two hours apart! Here is the link on Amazon. GoldenPaw Herbal Pet Supplement for Cat a.co/d/cbbwUUTi
@@EarthsAnswers Thank you so much! This has really helped me! I can't afford a vet and you are making me feel so much better about keeping my cats alive despite this. Thank you so much!
Well it is if used incorrectly, it’s great if used diluted. You’d never want to put tea tree oil directly on your dog or cat but mixed with a carrier oil in a proper dilution it is not only sage but full of benefits! Try googling yea tree benefits for dogs and you should find good info! If you search tea tree toxic to dogs google will show you those results only! Gah!
