I use 80 to 100lb braid but I’m mostly fishing small to large rivers with a lot of cover where mono just won’t hold up as far as color goes I generally don’t usually care to much I let my daughters pick out what they like which so far has been high visibility yellow, blue camouflage and plane blue the rod and reals not so for giving they ordered me hot pink and bright purple

So far the madkat mono has been good. Use their structure high vis. But truth be told there probably isn’t but a couple manufacturers and everything is rebranded.

Was looking at lines at a local store and at walmart the other day. Something I noticed was lines seem to be the same price regardless of whether is for 5-10lb or 30lb. Is there a reason why I would'nt just buy the 30lb line to catch anything from 5-30lb? Or hopefully even something heavier

Typically want to match your line with what size rod your using. Catfish don’t really mind but normally you want to keep everything in range for what you expect to catch.

@@MegaCoffee90 Thanks for the response. Since then I got 20lb braided line and have fish with it once on a new baitcaster reel. I like how little memory braided line has. It also cast very smooth compared to monofilament, but I used mono as leader as advised.

Ande hi-vis isn't necessarily the easiest line to find. I personally think 30 lb ANY line is sufficient for most of us. My biggest gripe is I want something fairly soft, supple, with minimal "memory", which I've not yet found. Even the Ande in 30 lb is a bit "stiff" in my book, but better than Trilene Big Game.

30 lb mono is more than sufficient for big cats you just have to utilize your drag properly. Dieter catches some monster Blue Cats man, he just uses his drag properly.
