*I had one of these before and it lasted many years and I used it a lot. It blends **MyBest.Kitchen** chops ,grates. Does most anything you would want to use it for. A lot of bang for your buck. A litlle loud however it so fast it is not bothersome.*

In a few hours this becomes pretty thick mix. Great for chips or burritos. It's a soup now because the ingredients is fairly mixed, but in just two hours in the fridge, you'll have to scoop it out with a spoon. For people thinking it's a soup, well, it taste damn good in a veggie burrito. For me, I would have put the cilantro in with the garlic to mix in the flavors along with salt and pepper. But, since I was adding mine for burritos only .... I addin corn and olives to the mix at the end. You really don't want the corn or olives to blend much. Also, you might want to experiment with roma tomatoes for taste. Thanks for the video! :)

Excellent video, well done, not too long, but thorough. Good instructions. Thank you.

It's actually not that liquidy... but much more like a restaurant salsa. This consistency is how we prefer it at home, but you can use your food processor to achieve a chunkier version if you want to. Enjoy! God Bless! ~Erika

This was my first Vitamix recipe. I didn't blend as long as you did. But the instructions and ingredients were spot one! Delicious! Thank you.

On the contrary... I've made this salsa more than I can count and on several occasions I've not used a barrier and learned the hard way! ;) If you attempt it, please just don't touch your eyes or face! Enjoy & God Bless! ~Erika

very, very tasty recipe! I just run the vitamix minimally and reserve enough tomato, onion, cilantro at the end for minimal chopping - which is what you stated ;-)

This particular recipe makes a lot of salsa (approx 64 ounces), so 3 cloves doesn't seem like too much - but then again, I'm Italian... and you know how us Italians like our garlic! =) But that's the best thing about this recipe, is you can adjust the heat & spice how ever you like! God Bless! ~Erika

I just made your recipe in my (almost) new vitamix (I love it!) This salsa is d-e-l-I-c-I-o-u-s!! Thank you for sharing it! I'm keeping one jar for myself, and gifting the other one to my mother. I really appreciate your thoroughness, and I think you are a super awesome person/mom! Can you do more vitamix recipes pleeeze?! God Bless you too! :)

Howdy - thanks for the video! Question: what size mason jars are those?

The beauty of this recipe is in its simplicity. Often times I see a recipe that is so involved that I avoid it or just don't get around to gathering all the ingredients. For me, healthy eating needs to be easy and quick or I grab something less healthy. Your recipe also affords making quantity for future use. Excellent! Q. How to you store this if you want to keep it for a while? How long will this remain fresh if you simply refrigerate it in the ball jars? Thank you!

Unless you're up to a canning process (which I'm guessing you're not) the only other option is to pour them into air tight freezer containers and store them in your freezer. You'll definitely want to keep an eye on them as ice crystals will form but it should hopefully extend the life of the salsa for up to two months.

Thanks for the great video. It's nice to learn which ingredients to pulse and in what order. That definitely looks like top notch restaurant style salsa. You can also pour that into air tight freezer containers and freeze for up to two months. : )

Thanks for the video! Here's a tip I stumbled on when low on tomatoes. This makes great non pink salsa you can eat right away. Use about 4 plum tomatoes, your typical ingredients and then about 1/2 cup of frozen mix of red, green peppers and onions. You will not even know the peppers are there!

Hi, did you answer Richard's question. I have the same question too. how long can you store it or how long does it stay good in the refrigerator! thanks.
@aLittleInsanity
@aLittleInsanity 10 лет назад
Good Question! Ours lasts about 2-3 weeks if we separate it into smaller mason jars and don't open them. Otherwise, I'd say 2 weeks is about the average. Hope that helps! =) God Bless! ~Erika

How about if you want to make it a little thicker would you just hold back on the speed a bit.

why remove the seeds from the jalapeno pepper ?

Wet chop the onion to avoid creating a paste. Other than that, I like Salsa to be on the runnier side. It seems many commenters think a salsa should have the consistency of pico de gallo. That's one way to do it, but this isn't that way.

like the choice of ingredients...personal recommendation is to quarter veggies rather than place them in hold. able to fit more at once, and other parts of the salsa wouldn't be like a smoothie.

I've got to agree on the gloves comment - especially if you wear contact lenses and you're seeding the jalapeños. I've learned that lesson the hard way more than once. I may try this some time, but 3 cloves of garlic seems like a lot to me. (FWIW, I do make my own salsa at least once a week and I'm not against experimenting, but the results of using more than one clove has always been difficult to tolerate for 24 hours after consuming the salsa...)

At 1 min 52 seconds, wasn't the sticker still on the tomato when she added it?! LOL!

LOL! It does look that way at 1:52. But if you slow the speed to .25, you'll see it's the bottom root. It does look like a sticker.

Try this really hot recipe - 2 or 3 serrano peppers, 2 or 3 jalapeno peppers, 2 or 3 Habanero peppers and 2 or 3 Red peppers - 1 medium-large white onion - 1 handful of cilantro - 5 or 6 Roma tomatoes - 1 lime - 1 head of garlic
