Thank you Josh - I had just received my Crane 3S today (21 June 2020), and after updating the firmware, watched your video and adjusted the motor strength, and the settings - works like a dream. I must be the only one 'out there' that uses the traditional camcorder for this gimbal - Canon XF 205, but it works fine for me, which is the most important thing! I have four Zhiyun Gimbals! So glad I watched this again. Now that I finally have my 3s balanced, updated and calibrated I noticed the response times on the movements appeared to me to be a little laggy.

I have crane plus. Video started getting jittery. I want to know if changing smoothness higher or lower would help. They are set at 100 across the board. It’s set for strong motor. Using d750 and a sigma 12-24 mm lens

I find that when I mount batteries on top as you did, my gimbal wobbles a lot.

Thanks for mentioning that the custom motor strength settings were missing because I noticed that too and was really expecting that feature to be standard on all Zhiyun gimbals post-Weebill S. That is a really strong feature and I was able to make my weebill S perform like a heavy gimble being SUPER smooth. Also a very weird that I experienced with mine before I had to send it back was that it would not respond to follow rate adjustments no matter how far I tuned it. Great video though.

Awesome tutorial, exactly what I was looking for. Do you have a tutorial about how to use LUTs with the transmiter over the phone? in case you dont, what should I do to have the Luts , because I copied a folder of luts with different file extensions but they dont appeared on the app.

I bought an S3 last week. I'm stuck with some things get it going. I'm finding it difficult to know what to do with the locks, and succeed the firmware update can't seem to get the gimbal going properly.

Hi Josh, Thanks for all the videos. A bit unrelated question but hope ou can help me out: I am using Crane 3 LAB and trying to connect my Canon 5dmk2 (or Canon 5dsR) to my phone via ZY Play app. I can control camera settings in the app, but I can not view the image (HDMI cable connected) on the phone app. Any settings on camera I need to change? Appreciate your help.

I have just got th Zhiyun Crane 3 S for my FX9, but I have problem with the video transmitter from Zhiyun. It is updated but it only works when i have the camera in 50p mode. The transmitter is using HDMI. I think this is very strange, why is it not woking in 25P mode? And is there a solution? If you are using the same camera Fx9 please share tips

Hi, can I ask for some help please? I’ve got a reasonably sizeable rig. Zcam, rails, monitor, v mount. matte box, eff and meike 35mm. I also set my settings on the app to the same as yours. When I got the crane 3s it had that classic fault of wobbling. I fixed that dialling the motor strength up to medium/high. However when testing it I still see micro jitters in the vertical plane. My footsteps are highly visible. With a rig like this your arms will micro shake of course. But those jitters and my footsteps seem translates straight to camera. It’s as if it’s handheld. Any tips or settings to fix this? I’m disappointed so far. Actually playing around with it I think the wobble is still there but small. I’ve played with motor strength but not joy. This is driving me nuts.

I was getting vibration with the bmpcc6 and the crane 2s and ive found that sliding the camera body right till the camera touched the plate and the vibration went away. i have motors set to high but the vibration is not there are any setting.

My Crane 3 has been overheating in 2-3 minutes with just an A7III and 50mm 1.2 - just the follow focus, nothing on the camera, as minimal as it gets. I rebalanced it several hundred times and then started getting massive vibration issues. Can't figure out if this setup is too heavy or too light for this stupid gimbal. what do you think is happening?

Theres a recent review with an URSA Mini and it still has notable shake. Surely that camera is heavy enough to 'activate' those strong Motors?

Then it’s not properly balanced or calibrated on the gimbal.

Usually with a gimbal that isn't balanced you get a forward 'wobble' based on footsteps but this is a general 'shake'. I'm not getting good results. Tried a heavy lens (sigma sports 70-200) and it still has bad shake.

I see you’re using the app but not sure if the remote works with other transmitters and receivers. I bought the Zhiyun Transmount system because they said you need it to work the remote. Not sure though.

I believe the transmitters allow for viewing picture and control while the app is only control.

Hi, got a question. Got my Crane 3s today. But I am experiencing a bit of a motor noise. Its not that loud - but its still there. I want to know if its normal? Or do I need to adjust the motor settings? Tried the strength but not the motor calibration yet.
