Huge props to Old Man Mountain for putting users ahead of their own self-interest . I find it really annoying having company's logos all over my bags/panniers/etc.
@ericpmoss

Definitely! I also love how those bags tick the boxes -- waterproof, no pointless pockets, no assumptions about rack size. I saw a pair at Eurobike last year, and wish I had offered cash on closing day just to have them all this time.

Russ is becoming a bit of a silver fox! A man after my own heart! The first thing I thought when I heard about the Restrap hike-a-bike harness was that it would be great for the Arizona Trail, so great to hear that they thought the same thing. The OMM Basket being bolt on rather than the usual zip-tie-on has me stoked. And I feel like Caedero are making the best bikepacking bags out there right now. Super cool stuff! Finally, that Wolf Tooth Dropper remote blew my mind!

My first helmet was a Bell Ovation. It was a softshell helmet with a really thin plastic layer glued to the outside. The plastic was thin, like a plastic soda bottle. I suppose it might have helped with sliding resistance in a crash, but I bought it because it was on clearance for $25 in the Nashbar catalog and I thought the plastic would make it more durable when carrying and storing it while not riding. Glad to hear Kool-Stop is still around, I bought their brake pads for all our bikes with rim brakes and they are fantastic.

That Hike-a-Bike Harness is an ace idea. I know a few trails where it would come in dead handy. In fact, just having it there on the top tube "just-in-case" looks like a decent idea to me. I get sick of shouldering a bike very fast. Cheers

Not sure that last rack (Spider rack?) will work on ‘any bike’. The seat stays on the demo bike aren’t very steep. A bike with more vertical seat stays is going to mean that platform leans massively backwards. Couldn’t see any way to rotate the platform, but I might be wrong.

If Chris King cared about sustainability and recycling, they wouldn't have dropped support for their older hubs. Anything older than current Boost MTB hubs has no parts availability. I had to replace a wheelset due to lack of parts for my ISO135 hubs, couldn't convert them even to 142 rear, etc. Eat sand, CK.
@anthonykoleszar1779
@anthonykoleszar1779 Год назад
Yes, and the spokesman stating how “sustainable “ Chris King is….” Recycling their cutting oil in the machine shop”…that’s been happening everywhere, forever, it’s in their best interest $$$ wise, duh.
@timshelhamer7374
@timshelhamer7374 Год назад
Yeah I’m also looking for more CK support for the non boost hubs they seemingly abandoned despite their lip service to forever support. I will need axle conversion options for large diameter QR to thru axle and 15mm to 12mm, and probably from non boost to boost spacing some day. The aftermarket adapters out there look a bit sketchy
