Yep this is going in the favorites list. Excellent story idea it reminds me of how old school movies and cartoons would only have music playing to tell the story rather than dialogue.
Music ... is a very powerful thing. It can make people Happy, Sad, Angry, even Patriotic. Thank you Mr. NetNarrator for the narration of this beautiful story. And thank you Author for this masterpiece.
This moved me. I don't know if it's because I'm a good maladaptive daydreamer but this moved me. Mere words made me vividly imagine the tunes themselves.
Oh wow, that was beautiful. It honestly left me in tears. Bravo to both you and the author. 👏👏👏 As a longtime fan of classical music and opera, I was hearing a medley of songs that fit the descriptions found in the story. I can picture the performer hearing that "Can you play a life?" and immediately, their mind races through the catalog of pieces they know as they think to themselves: "... Why, yes. I do believe I can accommodate you in that regard." While every one would give a different take on it, most professional Musicians would be able to pull it off. After all, music comes from the figurative heart - the core of who we are. A truly passionate Musician would LOVE a challenge like that. To sing a life into existence. Whether they create a medley, like what I imagined, or make something new, they would certainly love to at least try to pull it off. Most good songs are snippets of life, so it would be a long-form piece, possibly resembling a concert, but it can be done. For a great example of how, as much talent and effort it would take, it not only CAN be done, but HAS been done, I point to The Wall, by Pink Floyd. Entirely different from what a Violist chosen to represent Earth would perform, it still holds a life. A good Musician, author, or other artist can indeed create life through music.
Unheard music; descriptive storytelling; amazing how it can move a person so easily. This is hit especially hard for me today, as I heard today that a friend had passed. Beautifully done.
You don't need lyrics for music, the raw power of the emotion is captured in the sound of the music itself.... damned I'm gona play some bethoven for my self now
I absolutely Love this story. No many who tells the tale I will always like this HFY story. Cause it shows the power of art and the affect it can have on others.
Hey, I know you're just reading out stories other people wrote, but you have achieved something similar within me with many stories here. I almost didn't finish A Year at the Zoo because I was afraid of what would happen. Keep up the good work.
I'll bet there's a few songs that spring to mind for the one that was described in the second half of that story. For me, one that stood out was Sealed Vessel from the Hollow Knight Original Soundtrack. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ze0Rk-m0w2A.html What did you hear during the song of a life?
