Very innovative. Good story! As much as I enjoyed that story, I think the best part was when I realized, afterword, that not once did I hear the phrase, "resilient". Thank you!!
@@Nevir202 It is used oddly a LOT in HFY stories when talking about humanity. How people describe humanity be it biologically or the human spirit...that one word is always used when there are a lot of others you could use.
@@Nevir202 Ridiculously overused. Sometimes it seems to be used 50 times in a 10 minute story. Back in the stone age, when I was young, we had this interesting book (a collection of wood pulp sheets with actual printed words). It was called: "Roget's Thesaurus".
@@regiliok it went to the djinn. The moment he granted the little girl’s wish, his life was forfeit by the rules of his people. But at the same time, he was granted sanctuary by humanity thanks to an obscure ruling causing the humans to close ranks around him. At the same time a random janitor spilled soapy water which formed a barrier between the djinn police and the humans. Moments later the ruler of the djinn just happened to show up to the event to serve as official witness on the matter. And when it looked like the ruler was going to have the little girl seized for being part djinn, who would be there to challenge him but the first ever super powered human to exist who had been thought to be dead for a thousand djinn years.
@@TheLastRhapsody Maybe, but why then did the girl become half-Djinn? An alternate option is that the ability remained with the girl, but the change to half-Djinn meant that she could now use the ability for good. The rest of your explanation then works just fine.
@@KaiHenningsen I think that was the price of the veil. The djinn did state that utilizing a wish has a price exacted by the veil, and apparently the only fitting price for the girl losing such an ability would be to grant her one of, supposedly, equal magnitude.
Comunity, something I have been thinking about more often lately. As a near loner finding people to trust has been problematic. However with the events of the next ten to twenty years rapidly approaching it would be good to have comunity.
If your in nz ill happily help I'm building a community here that has skills from steam to computing anf even some older myself for example smithing and metal working without power tools or my neighbour who's specialised in Hardy and rapid growing plants and fungi that can survive high radiation and increased magnetic energies
Such a intelligent and unique story ❣️ I would have loved to hear about the new human's adventures. Thanks to the author and the narrator... both of you did amazing 💐👏⭐
Well, that was a twisting path, and no doubt about it! A very good destination / starting point. My thanks to author and to the reader for their nuanced interpretation.
That's what Athamar is wondering. All it is is a bit of human pack bonding, as viewed from the other side. I imagine a lot of critters that are not pack animals are just as thoroughly befuddled and confused as this when they are bonded. Imagine having zero natural instinct for pack bonding, and suddenly feeling incredibly attached to a Human or a group of humans. What a weird feeling that would be.
@@CaedmonOS Correct. Her wish was for her power to go to someone who could use it for good...as she had no control, not even passive, and it is obvious it has caused her nothing but misery. Now, he had no idea to who or where he would send her power...yet look at what happened IMMEDIATELY afterward. The humans rallied around him using an obscure rule, the janitor spilled soapy water forming a barrier between the humans and the djinn, the ruler just happened to be there to be witness, and the first and strongest metahuham everyone thought was dead just happened to be there as well. He very obviously was the one to end up with her power and due to being a djinn is able to unconciously use it to help others as naturally as breathing. In this case, to save one small scared little girl.
