The idea of death being a mercyKinda reminds me of gro goroth the god of destruction in fear and hunger, hes the god of destruction but that doesn't mean he does it with hate, he does it to free up some space for his wife the god of love and fertility

first, also wonder what actually happened to that war god/goddess. after all, i'd think it'd be more traumatic for a god thats supposedly immortal to actually DIE.

Nah its worse. i can see the thing about the death of a god being a punishment to those gods but it would be a mercy if a god is denied Death

@@jackhell9263 Yeah. The story outright says Death is a mercy. Death would be no punishment to a god. My bet is the offending war god is stuck in eternal torment where mere mortals can't hear them. You know, like what Zeus did with Prometheus.

While I'm sure not to the extent of this story, in extreme cases humans have been known to continue fighting past mortal injuries, even for quite some time. Basically, adrenaline is one heck of a drug.

Either that's a typo, or the author used "god" as a gender-neutral term instead of "deity".

@@randomguy-tg7okaren't exactly weird that a god would be female. Athena (god of knowledge and war: a Greek god) Freya (god of love, beauty, fertility, sex, war: a Norse god)

@@weybye91 Yeah, IK, but given that "Goddess" is specifically feminine, "God" is _often_ (and in this case isn't) used to mean specifically masculine.
