There are hfy stories of humans having large fur balls that are deadly to any thing else as pets "if it is cute boop it on the noot." Like a certain human and his future wife a "night beast".

Having seen a "fish" left inside the abdomen of a patient, I can attest to the need for extensive surgical checklist. Used to keep intestines safe from suturing on the way out, a 'fish" is a bright blue thick flexible oval plastic about 2 feet by one foot. Yes, the surgeons left one behind and as a medical student I pointed that out. Before that the fish was not included in the surgical checklist for instruments.

Sounds about right because a surgeon is focused on the fine details and a checklist is another important safety check because even professionals are only human
