Happy Sunday from Texas. First of all, that car at the 56 minute mark went faster in reverse than it did going forward😩😂😂 That pizza looked so yummy!!!! As usual wonderful video. I always look forward to when you post.
Lol yes that guy parking was clearly in a rush, it was why I chuckled at 1:15, I was in his way for a moment and he didn't look happy with me. Maniac drivers here 🤣But they are skilled drivers
You have to visit Alexandria. The most beautiful city in Egypt. My mom and dad were born in Port-Said.. another amazing place to visit where they welcome tourists and you haven’t lived until you ride the ferry boat to Port-Foad. Another European influenced beautiful city of Egypt
Actually I have been to Alexandria, I went there back in October of last year. Love Eskendreya! I think one of my favorite memories was wandering in the fish market 😄 I have also been to Port Said! But to be honest, I wasn't all that impressed with Port Said. I went with my boyfriend who is Egyptian, he was also a bit disappointed. We'd heard so many good things but found it rather small and not much to do. But that's just our opinion and experience, maybe it was the time of year or something....But Alexandria is great, I will definitely be returning there in the future
I went to it according to ur video recommendation here along ago and it was sooo good really yummy , one of the best Italian restaurants.. but i did realised also that i had the same table u had 😂😂 Cheers
You know, I actually have had pizza at Maison Thomas...although it's okay, I don't love it. It's a matter of opinion I'm sure, but I think Sapori Di Carlo is much better...
Hello!! I recently come across your videos. Very good content!! Keep it up. I am visiting Cairo this Christmas. Don Corleone i heard its also a very good spot for pizza (locals hidden gem). Have you ever been there??
I have not, although there are quite a few Italian restaurants in Zamalek. Zamalek is an affluent neighborhood of Cairo and an island on the Nile, so there are a lot of wealthy Egyptians as well as foreigners living there, and also quite a few bars restaurants serving foreign cuisine. I have tried quite a few pizzas at other Italian restaurants in Zamalek but so far Sapori Di Carlo has been the best and most similar to the pizza one will find in Italy, for Cairo (at least in my opinion). I have heard of another restaurant called What The Crust, their photos at least look similar to Italian style pizza, but I've never been there because it is located in Maadi and that is a bit far for me to travel to (I don't usually have a reason to go to Maadi). But perhaps I'll try Don Corleone in Zamalek, Zamalek is not too far from where I live. Thanks for the suggestion and so happy you're enjoying my channel! ❤
Someone else suggested that a long time go, and I thought about doing it, but I still haven't gotten around to it. Honestly, not even sure if I remember how the U.S. one tastes, I've been here a few years and can't exactly recall 😅 Maybe someday I will though, it's not a bad idea. Thanks Alan 🙏
In Dahab in a fish restaurant they also added this VAT and service charge. I refused (while smiling), they accepted and next times never charged it to me. The question remains if this "full package" is mainly for foreigners and skipped for locals...🤔 . May be not in places like Zamalek
Yeah I don't think so...honestly wouldn't even want to try 😅Usually I am eating at cheap local spots so I'll pay the charges when I do go to a place like this. I've been with Egyptian friends and they never said anything about not paying the VAT and service charges, so I guess it is what it is...
Grazie mille! 😁 I would describe it as the same in many decent Italian style pizza restaurants in the US. If it's a good place in the US, this is comparable (maybe slightly better, maybe slightly worse, depending on the spot.) If it's a shitty Italian restaurant in the US, this place is way better. 😆
No I haven't. I don't go to Maadi very often though, to be honest. It's kind of a trek for me to get there. If you recommend them, I'll have to check them out sometime when I am in Maadi
@@Gventures I have not been there either, I ordered from them through Talabat. I ordered several different pizzas and I remember one being especially good
@@Gventures have you been to cafe riche lately ? I ve been wondering if it is still open .. decades ago i used to go for beer and mezzas .. and even sone nice pkates .. as you live downtown . Was hoping to see review about it if still open
@@mahmoudnayel2932 I don't actually live downtown, but I live very close to downtown. And yes, Cafe Riche is still open! I haven't been there in a while though, to be honest. I'm not sure what it was like decades ago, but I think it's a bit overpriced now. And the food isn't that great....I go there with people from a hostel sometimes just because it is nearby, but I usually prefer to go to El Horreya or Carol Bar or somewhere like that for drinks, and then grab some much better food on the street for cheap.
@@mahmoudnayel2932 Ah. Yeah I dunno, I just don't think it's great compared to other places. I bet it was good back in the day though. Still lots of other great spots around the area though...
I've been living in Cairo for like close to 6 months now and the Pizza here SUCKSSS I can't find a good pizza place at all. This place looks good but im in Nasr City so I'm not going to be going there any time soon. Yeah that's really expensive for Egypt. Now that Pizza would be close to 300 pounds. yikes
Huh. Not sure what kind of pizza you are used to, but I have eaten at some big chains like Dominos, Papa Johns and Pizza Hut here in Cairo and it's essentially the same as back in the US where I am from. I have heard of quite a few other places around the city that have decent Italian style pizza as well, Cairoma in downtown Cairo also isn't bad. Not sure where you've been eating, but you should be picky about where you go to get pizza, I wouldn't order pizza from just anywhere of course, if you are doing that then you will certainly be disappointed. I never go to Nasr City so I have no idea what's out there, maybe they just have shitty quality out there...? 🤷♀️ Actually you can still get this pizza at Sapori for around 150, so half the price you mentioned. It still isn't cheap of course by Egyptian standards, but when getting fancy foreign food with imported products, expect to pay the price.
Can you make a comparison, for example, between restaurants, for example, in Egypt and Turkey, compared to its country of origin in America? Such as KFC, McDonald, Berg King, etc.
Ahaha, yeah actually I've been thinking to make a video like this sometime! I like the food better in Egypt vs. Turkey, to be honest. The shawarma and kofta and things like that are better in Egypt. I will make a video comparing the taste of some American restaurants to the ones here in Egypt, but I can tell you here now that McDonalds tastes pretty much the same here as it does in America. The McChicken is better in America though, I think 😅I will make a video about this sometime 😁Thanks Mohammed!
@@Gventures Egypt and Turkey are very similar, both have an ancient and great history and are located in the middle between two different continents, and even the economic and military situation is somewhat similar, although Turkey is a little better by virtue of its presence in Europe.
Ahaha yes the pizza was very cheesy and delicious. The coke was 26 EGP ($1.34 USD). Normally the cost of a soda this size is 6 EGP at a little shop, but restaurants always charge more.
@@knowledgeberakah1728 There are little fruits stands and markets all over, you will not struggle to find fruit vendors. I would recommend staying in a hostel in downtown Cairo, my recommendations are Madina Hostel, Holy Sheet, Heritage Hostel or Dahab Hostel. I've heard Tahirir Square Hostel was also good, but I've never stayed there before. The rest of the hostels I've named I've visited and stayed in plenty of times and like them all
Hey Giselle , love your stuff , if you ever come to Alex please tell us , sorry if you faced any issues , Egyptians are trying their best to be accommodating with this shit show of an economy 😥😥😥😥😥, Times are tough G
What do you mean "If I have faced any issues"? I know the economy is very bad right now, and it's very difficult for many people, it is terrible. But I love Egypt and intend to stay for a long time! I actually have been to Alex, I was there in October of last year. But I definitely plan to visit again, it is a very beautiful city. Thank you so much for watching my channel! 🥰
@@Gventures Oh where do I start 😅😅😅 , people giving you trouble for filming , people trying to sell you stuff because you're obviously a foreigner , people jacking up prices randomly , you know , the bread and butter of the foreigner experience in big cities 😂, in any case , I hope you stay with us for a very long time ❤❤❤ , and do ping me if you go to Alex (I could drive you to or from somewhere if you want , granted I am close by of course ) and whenever you want to ask about something there I'll try my best to help 🙌
@@ahmeda.s.3004 Ah, gotcha. Lol yeah, it's a fact it happens a lot. I'm pretty used to all of it though, and know how to deflect or handle these situations very well. Just a part of life 😆
