Pyunkang Yul ATO blue label cream has SAVED my skin this winter. It is one of the only moisturizers I can use after tretinoin and KNOW that I will not have peeling or irritation the next day or even the day after. I’m definitely a Korean skincare snob and my main thing this winter has been Korean creams and moisturizers. I have a thing for textures and all that goodness. I do always use a serum with ceremides, cholesterol and fatty acids before tretinoin and I just never get peeling at all anymore. I’ve used tretinoin for 13 years and every winter I get anxious because my skin gets insanely dry but not this year! I even bumped up to .05% for the first time ever after .025% for 13 years and still no dryness. I take all your recommendations VERY SERIOUSLY because I literally have every single moisturizer you’ve ever talked about 😝
@@tj8649 Skin Food Propolis Serum I've just ordered and I'm loving Skin 1004 Centella Tone Ampoule is really good as it has spheres if Tranexamic Acid in it
I sandwich my tret in between illiyoon ceramide cream and la roche posay cicaplast baume and I have been able to use tret most days of the week with this method 💗
I've been using my tretinoin formula from Agency for about a month now and it's left my skin amazing! I'm only at 0.009%- so and my skin hasn't had any super extra drying or peeling effects, so I'm pretty happy so far and excited for what's to come!
Something that is very similar to the LRP AP+ baume is the Bioderma Atoderm Intensive baume. It's soooo good and underappreciated! It's very nourishing and buttery without being too sticky. It has gotten the holy grail status for me.
I really like this too! I have both the bioderma and lrp and just yesterday I was comparing them. My thoughts were that the lrp is a little heavier but they are very similar in feel (to me).
@@KellyDriscoll While you're at it, the Atoderm Nutritive face cream (40ml) is also brilliant. Goes on almost like a gel-cream but feels like you applied something like the LRP B5 baume, super nourishing. And all the Atoderm line has the holy trinity!!! I would die if you did a full line review :D
I love Illiyoon. I have tried only the New formulation, but it has been the love of my life. I haverá combo skin and live in a hot climate (Brazil) but it is my life savior.
I just found your channel and I don't know how you don't have a million subscribers already! Love your content. Aside from detailed product recos, you also educate us on skincare, ingredients, formulation, skin types, etc. I'm binge-watching your videos right now. I'm using Epiduo Forte right now and broke out with a new moisturizer, so I'm looking for a replacement. I love the Skin1004 Centella Serum, and I think I'm going to get their Soothing Cream.
So well explained for different skin types 👏🏾 I’ve been finding that my summer moisturiser (RNW Ceramide cream) is too drying on nights I apply both Tret and Finacea. Looking forward to trying out the Purito Dermide Moisturizer😍 love me a good whipped texture🤌🏾
I just did my PM routine and used Geek & Gorgeous Happy Barrier cream. Drop everything that you are doing and go order it noow :D I am in love in that cream. I have tried so many different creams. But that one hits just right spot for me. It is surprising hydrating. And the hydration is long lasting. it feels so hydrating, that I have almost this nice slight cooling feeling on my skin. And it feels light. I have oily skin and am tret user. I use it mainly PM. but sometimes even AM.
Wonderful video. I’ve been doing my own “research” on this topic and getting frustrated! So nice to see you’ve done the work for me!! I especially like some of the ones without hyaluronic acid.
thanks again kelly, been following for awhile & was so glad to find someone with similar skin needs as mine! you inspire me to make my own blog/channel/etc. currently can't afford to try too many things tho in order to properly and thoroughly speak to things in the way that i am passionate about. the agency formulation is the one "expensive" thing I am doing to care for my skin since I started breaking out more, have more serious forehead wrinkles, could care less about the wrinkles, they show my wisdom! more importantly I am trying to do everything I can as a preventative since I was recently diagnosed with Lupus & my mom has now had 3-4 surgeries for melanoma & basal cell carcinoma. I have extremely sensitive skin and it's been going good so far, even with the peeling~ would love to see even more reccomendations on this front! my skin was just MOLTING after I tried to use mine 2 days in a row. I'm From mugwort mask in the shower has REALLY helped. so thank you for that tip! also slathering on rosehip, meadowfoam, & vitamin E oil on "recovery days"! (I use the jojoba one from Thrive's FAE brand). Thinking of layer the Purito oat cream with a thicker ceramides layer, have you tried it yet? Specifically looking for something that has a higher concentration of the ceramides, cholesterol, etc. Do you think we could tell this based off of ingredients lists? sorry for the rambly comment~ thanks again for doin what you do :)
Thanks for this video Kelly. I am very oily and been on tretinoin for 2 1/2 years now. Im on 0.05% tret applied 5x a week and im still oily. I live in a country that has a very humid and tropical climate. May be that's why.
My favorites to use with tretinoin are the Regimen Lab CREAM, DRMTLGY Peptide Night Cream, Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream, and Farmacy Honey Halo. I love thick whipped feeling moisturizers.
I'm British and we don't have Agency but I use a Dermatica formula with 0.1% Tretinoin , 15% Azelaic Acid and 4% Niacinimide . I'm 40 with combo skin and am currently layering Cerave Dry cream topped with Neutrogena Hydroboost extra dry . I don't exfoliate often and use Essenses and Toners AM . 🙌👏😊🇬🇧🌈
I have dry skin, but I'd love to try the Purito one (after I use up the Rovectin Lotus Water Cream) as a buffer for tret. Then use any of my heavy (lol) moisturizers after. 😊 Thanks, Kelly! Love all your recommendations! 💞
Thank you for all the moisturizer recommendations Kelly. The Cerave moisturizing cream definitely saved my skin. I use it on the dry patches under my chin during the warmer months and full face during the colder months. It definitely helped me during the time I had to do a skincare reset (back to basics) after I irritated my skin after using too many actives. The Purito dermide relief moisturizer was a game changer this winter. I use this and layer the Cerave moisturizing cream at night to seal it all in to avoid TEWL when I sleep from indoor heating. I wake up with a soft moisturized skin without any signs of dehydration.
The Geek and Gorgeous moisturizer sounds really nice! I have a recommendation for oily skin, the Jumiso Snail Ex Ultimate Barrier Cream, very light weight with slight occlusivity. Causes me no clogged pores but makes my barrier feel supported
Kelly you have to try the Tarte Baba Bomb moisturizer! It’s so underrated and it’s been saving my skin like no other this winter! State of Kait raves about it too. It’s on sale on Tarte for like $16 right now too! I bought 3 😂❤️
Pipette Eczema Lotion ☺I originally bought it for the eczema on my hands - it healed them beautifully and has kept eczema flare ups at bay all year, year after year. It has since become my go-to moisturizer all over my body, and I especially love it for my face (dry and acne-prone). It feels thick and silky and instantly soothing when applying, then it sinks in, disappears and leaves my skin feeling perfectly moisturized and comfortable.
Hi Kelly. Please do a video on a routine that doesnt include hyaluronic acid for those of us sensitive to the ingredient. Thank you for the great content.
That is good idea, I would love to see more HA-free products as well. My HA-free product suggestion - try that G&G Happier Barrier cream, it does not have HA, but feels so wonderfully hydrating. I think it must be the combo of glycerin that is high in the ingr list + lipids that seal it in. I try to avoid HA as well, especially now when air humidity is super low due to central heating. I find HA products dry out my skin, while Glycerin based products suit me better. G&G has nice glycering/urea/panthenol toner mist, you should try that as well. And their Jelly Joker cleanser - I am on tube 10 by now, love that brand.
@@sirtsupirtsu Hi. Thanks for the recommendations. I agree with glycerine being a better suited humectant but also just started using the Iunik Beta Glucan serum for my dehydrated skin. To seal it in I use Soon Jung CICA Balm since it's light as my skin doesn't tolerant heavy creams.
Thanks for this! Recently transitioned from 0.1% tret to 0.14% tret and my skin is SUPER angry. I have that LRP cream so I'll be using that tonight per your rec! 💜
@Kelly Driscoll well my skin's reaction made me rethink my choice so back to 0.1% I go! Just used that LRP cream on my face tonight (surprised I never thought to use it on my face) and hoping I wake up with my entire life together 🤣😂
just want to chime in here - the SoonJung 2 x Barrier Intensive cream is GREAT at leaving a dewy glow and at calming your skin down. unfortunately for me (as an oily skin person), i mostly only use it at night or when my barrier is impaired. very affordable too
Hi Kelly! Have you tried the Rovectin Lotus water cream? It's nice for oily to combo skin. It's easily absorbed by the skin and it will not leave your skin sticky. I usually use it at night with retinol and when I wake up, you can feel that your skin is hydrated but not sticky.
Those that use tret. Keep it up cause that benefits and encourages companies to produce products the very sensitive and rosacea folks could possibly benefit from. 😂
I currently use the last LRP one. I have dry combo dehydrated skin so it feels so...soooooooo heavy for me. It feels like it sits on top but it indeed helps with tret uglies. Actually ordered Pyunkang yul one a few hours before because of reddit and one of your videos (not this one, I think it was about ceramides) so I'm really excited to try as it would fit my skin perfectly (in theory at least haha)
I love the agency but wholy moly you HAVE to try Altreno. It’s a newer tretinoin at .05% that is the only one I’ve been able to comfortably jump up to .05%. It’s some kind of magic. Def check it out?
Such an interesting video and at a perfect time for me: I literally just subscribed to a customized tretinoin program (Agency is not available where I live, so I went with Dermatica). Curious to find out about your recommendations 💖.
is the purito dermide relief barrier's consistency similar to the la roche posay toleriane double repair? since i really like la roche's texture for my combo skin, and i want to find a moisturizer with a similar consistency.
Hi Kelly! I am currently sandwiching with my tret using cerave cream or vanicream. Should I use a thinner moisturizer for the layer before tret? I want to make sure my skin gets all the benefits from tretinoin. Unfortunately my skin doesn’t tolerate liquid gold 😢
No need to worry about thinner layers if what you're using now is working for you. Tret is powerful it will always find it's way, don't underestimate it!
@@KellyDriscoll thanks Kelly! I love your skin care philosophy about listening to your skin. You are one of a kind here on RU-vid! Thanks for replying 💙
Brands usually run sponsored content in rounds. It's not unusual to see the same brand sponsored content from similar creators around the same time. I've been using Agency for 2 years, their sister brand before that since 2016. It's an easy sponsorship for me as a long time customer.
@zoeberry1947 no worries I probably was a bit defensive! I would never take a sponsorship for anything I didn't use or believe in, I know there is a lot of easy money out there, but it's not how I operate.
Hi I'm thinking of starting the Geek and Gorgeous A game 5 (retin A), would my isntree hyaluronic acid moist cream be sufficient or should I step up with for example the LRP cicaplast baume B5, and during summer can I use my gel cream or should retinoid users keep using heavier creams all year round? My skin is combination with very light rosacea
Alternate during the summer season if your skin is oiler during the summer months. You can always spot treat on dry areas w/ the lrp (I do that for my dry spots -around nose/mouth in the eve while on tret)
i have dry skin and i was able to still use a medium weight cream with my geek and gorgeous a game. (i love the klairs rich moist cream) but rn in the winter, my skin needs all the oils and occulsives 😭😭
Try their Happier Barrier cream as well, you will love it. And their A game is of course one of the most affordable retinals on the market. I used it 2 years before I started using tret.
