Great question! I don't care for the swerve products that I have tried, especially the powdered. It had a really strong cooling effect when I used it. But, I have been really liking the Lakanto Monkfruit sweeteners lately as far as the classic and brown. You have to be careful with those, though, as well when it comes to baking. If you use too much, you will end up with a cooling effect, and I'm not a fan of that. The good thing about all of these desserts is that they freeze well. I usually freeze them just so we don't eat too many at once! Lol The cake, for example, I was eating on that for weeks. Thanks for watching!
When you cook in your air fryer and give the temperature and time does that include the time it takes to preheat? Or do you use another setting so you don't have to preheat? My air fryer cooks fast too. I want to try those funnel cakes 😋
Yes, I did preheat with these. Sorry if I didn't say that in the video! I try to remember to mention that if I do, but sometimes I forget. I'm a lot better at remembering to add that when I'm writing out the instructions down in the description box Lol Hope you enjoy if you try them, Donna!
Bacon fat/lard has a smoke point of 374 degrees F, So, air frying below the smoke point will prevent smoking. I would try doing it at 370 and that should prevent the smoke!
I'll bet cardamom would be awesome in those funnel cakes. Can you tell I'm 1/4 Scandinavian lol. I haven't found a confectioners sugar replacement I like yet. I don't like the after taste or the cooling effects. Everything looks good. I love my desserts. I don't know if you watch Recipes with Roy but he uses Greek yogurt to make the cream cheese. It's a great trick and really tastes like cream cheese. I wonder if I can put my lakanto in a food processor and make my own powdered sugar 🤔
👍 to the cardamom and yes, I can tell! Lol I haven't found a confectioners sugar replacement without the strong cooling effect either so I don't use them much. Good idea to make your own in the food processor! I have done that before with regular sugar so I don't see why it wouldn't work! I will have to check out how Roy does the cream cheese, thanks Judy!
