What’s funny about Caroline is she actually tends to show solidarity with other women frequently except for her own daughter and anyone married to Logan.
Shiv is Logan's favourite kid. He's softer to her than any of his other kids, and kinder to her than his own ex-wife. Caroline being the way she is definitely doesn't like that, hence her behaviour with Shiv. She loves her sons more, in her own way.
To me she only showed sympathy for Greg. There are scenes in which she clearly shows disdain towards her sons such as the one in which Ken wanted to talk about the dead kid
I think her character and casting are excellent as you can imagine her being the kind of woman that Logan would have been confounded by when he was younger. You can also imagine her holding her own in the bitter divorce they went through 😂
Definetly she probably helped him get into the society circles and made him.have a better social standing in the early days. 😂 I'd say she destroyed him but I like that they don't speak hateful about each other they know exactly what the others like.
I feel that Roman is her favorite, so they have the "best" relationship of all of the kids. The fact that he went to see her in S4 after everything, speaks volumes. I can't imagine Kendall or Shiv doing that.

Harriet Walter’s been on EVERY hot show and movie of the last five years. Downton Abbey, Belgravia, The Crown, Rocketman, Killing Eve, Dr. Who, and Succession. She’s shone in every single role, each more different than the last. The woman’s a beast. She must have one hell of an agent, too. What a glorious actor.
She’s fantastic. The first time I saw her was in a BBC crime drama called Waking the Dead where she played a woman jailed for murdering her 10 year old son’s best friend. She played a really fragile, downtrodden seeming woman but also had a real strength to her and I didn’t know what to make of her character. I didn’t even realise she also played Lady Shackleton in Downton while watching it and then watching Succession thought I recognised her again. Phenomenal actress. She’s so distinctive but totally unique in every role.
Caroline is a fabulous character, and Harriet Walter plays her to perfection. I think any chance of a healed relationship with her kids was torched after the end of season 3, but I'd still love for her to return in any capacity.

Caroline's reaction for not getting credited for giving birth to Kendall, Roman, and Shiv was so satisfying. She's funny but my god, even my mother isn't this terrible.

If Succession had a fifth season they might have explored Peter a bit more for comedic purposes - he is played by the great Pip Torrens who was unforgettable as Tommy Lascelles in The Crown.

I've liked her since she played Harriet Vane in the Peter Wimsey mysteries. Traveled to Oxford because of Gaudy Night (as tens of thousands of fans do).
New watcher here, but after seeing Harriet Walter in the cast, I just picture her acting like Caroline from Succession, placing bets, asking everyone long will they give it until someone else dies. And also saving the bread nubbies
ℹ think Stewy and Kendall became friends in college. ℹ think Kendall mentioned it somewhere. Thus, it makes sense to not know him or recognize him. The kids left her relatively young.
I'm like that in general. I just find every little thing funny, and if something reminds me of something terrible, I'll just laugh about it. Like when she responds to Shiv, "Hmm, like a Nazi." Hahaha, I swear I say things like that, but I find it funny. It's not my intention to hurt somebody else's feelings. If anything, I'd like others to laugh about the absurdity of a situation. Obviously, I don't make jokes when I feel another person is not in a "humorous" mood. Maybe that's what makes her despicable. In fact, this is funny because it's edited, but if you watch the whole scene, you'll always feel their pain because her jokes are used as venomous weapons that leave her children bleeding for a week.
