Chuck Schuldiner was an exceptionally talented and underrated guitarist, musician, arranger, and improviser who never seemed to run out of soloing ideas. He single-handedly innovated a whole genre of music and accomplished a lot in his relatively short life. Gone but never forgotten.
Death always had the best line ups. Even when one memeber would fall out Chuck would always find someone better to bring something interesting to the next album. Chuck was irreplaceable though .
Chuck was not only one of the greatest metal guitarists ever but one of the greatest period and now we’ve lost another legendary guitarist and frontman with alexi laiho. Both of these metal gods deserve all the praise they received in life and in death. Rest in peace
According to his wikipedia page he would spend all day on the weekends playing and practicing guitar, and around 3 hours on the weekdays. It's just a matter of practice, and dedication, man was disciplined af.
rip chuck, lost him 19 years ago today. had to revisit this video in his honor. it’s crazy how u could mix pure shredding with the most incredible feel every. very few guitarists are capable of doing this. like a cross between dimebag and Ritchie blackmore, except better
What I really enjoyed about Chuck’s playing is he’s almost entirely self taught and knew very little theory, according to him. He sounds like he’s schooled though. To me, that just goes to show a self discipline and commitment to mastery and he had it. I didn’t really start to listen until after he passed, but his sound in these clips is just awesome! Great mix of fast and slow and knowing when to let the guitar breathe. Hard thing to learn as a guitar player, like say an Yngwie type that just burns continuously at one speed.
Chuck's solos from "Painkiller" (cover, but Chuck wrote his own solo) and "Jelaousy" are better than some of these here. Unfortunately never played live
@@anotherbigfootwithinternet2147 the only guitarist thats similar in that comparison is mustaine, they have similar lead style (burst of notes) and they both good at riffs, while dime is good at riff and lead, his style is very different than mustaine or chuck, james is a full rhythm player not that popular with leads, kirk is a lead player and not popular with riffs, steve vai is more of a soloist and lead player, his leads is very different than mustaine or chuck...
My friend Has showed me how long have these clips she’s a good friend and she can pray so awesome gonna watch some videos some people do awesome covers
I’d go with 1. Chuck schuldiner- lead guitar and vocals 2. Dave Lombardo- drums 3. Alex skolnick- lead guitarist (2) 4. Cliff Burton- bass 5. Eric peterson- rhythm guitar
@@Miist3rDuce1 both of them is original guitarist with their own style, you can hear one hendrix or schuldiner lick and you immediatly know its them... but you cant compare them since they play different genre... sounds very different yet have similar characteristic: unique in their own way.
totally different styles. it's like comparing corpsegrinder and michael jackson. it's just not the same thing, you may like one style better than the other, but they are just not comparable
String skipping galor.....yeah the mark of whether your proverbial guitar nuts ever dropped, did Chuck Schuldiner have big balls? yes folks i think so.....
