Man, do I love Treasure Hunter and Bunny Kingdom so much! I will always be looking forward to what Richard has up his sleeve next. Both he and Antoine Bauza are such formidable game designers.

The Great Dalmuti is one of my favorites. I have played this with my children a lot. I have played this entire nights with my friends in a group of 8 as a drinking/social game. With an amazingly simple deck of 80 cards and amazingly simple rules, its gameplay is deeper than you would think, as you see the better players in the best seats most of the time. It is all about timing and when to play your cards. You have to evaluate your position and the relative strength of your hand. You have to count the cards that are out. It has a push you luck element. Are you going to take that risk to move up a spot or two with the risk that it can backfire and throw you all the way back to Great Peon. A lot of fun!

I hope that Richard Garfield designs a role playing game someday.

I'm curious where KeyForge would place on this list since it wasn't out at the time.

I have many happy memories of playing Robo Rally and watching everyone do the "Robo Dance". Looking at your hand, looking at the board, plotting your movement and watch people hop forward or turning left or right, shifting back, then laying their cards down with satisfaction (until you get bumped). Still a great game!

Glad you mentioned Treasure Hunter … such an easy and fun game to bring to the table!

WOOT WOOT I own King of Tokyo and it is a great game with expansion. I also like Magic but never played commando, and I did not realize that bunny kingdom is made by Mr. Garfield like wow I have to play it. I also have not played any of his other games but I was surprised with Bunny kingdom 0o0!

If Bunny Kingdom was not on this list and not in the top 5 then i would have made "Tom is wrong" a video for the Dice Tower. Its a really cool game

Treasure Hunter is a great and vastly underrated game.

Battletech needs a LCG reboot like Netrunner. It was awesome! I spent many a lunch playing it. The green-ish border instead of white like MTG was really different. I love Magic, but BT had some great unique mechanics while being easy for an MTG player to pick up.

I've sworn off LCGs but would probably give in and buy a reboot BattleTech or Star Trek one.

I like King of Tokyo - even though I always lose (mostly because of murder-death) - and I own Android: Netrunner with a few expansion packs, including the Terminal Directive campaign (which I have finished). Not a Magic the Gathering person, but to each his/her own on that one.

One that's growing on me is Greedy Greedy Goblins. It's a fun real time game that has got better as I have got better at it.

I'm glad he's increased his output in recent years. For a while there, it seemed like he wasn't doing very much at all after Magic.

The Great Dalmuti for sure. Although Magic and Netrunner only leave 8 spots worth arguing over.

A travesty that this wasn't even mentioned. *THE BEST* multi-player CCG created.

+Dan Keller Preach! Though I'm guessing Tom never played VTES, hence the omission. It's a shame it was put to pasture, existing only in the shadows through the VEKN. That's why I'm excited for the Black Chantry reprint, which should draw new blood to the game and elevate its popularity to the level it deserves.

V:teS was my first CCG and it was so good that when I tried Magic, the lack of options made it something I had no interest in playing.

I played it in the first edition when it was called Jihad. It was a great theme in the white wolf universe.

I've got about a 40/50 mix of Jyhad/V:teS cards. Don't know if I'll ever use them again.

Really surprised RoboRally wasn't higher -- the latest edition was pretty underwhelming, but the core concept is still great, and old school boards (including fan support) had lots of variety. Then again, I'm not a Magic player and haven't even heard of Bunny Kingdom (while Kong of Tokyo seems a bit slight to me).

I adore Kaiju Eiga and King of Tokyo was one of the first games I bought based on the constant recommendations from the Dice Tower. I must say, I was very underwhelmed and disappointed. This is basically glorified Yahzee with a pasted on theme. Yes, the artwork and cards have some great ideas, are tongue in cheek fun, but gameplaywise, this is UTTERLY BORING. A sad excuse to waste some time, just like Yahzee. It's also quite an expensive game, considering what it has to offer. Codenames, Skull King or Port Royal cost a fraction and grant much more fun for a filler of comparable length. Even Can't Stop is better than this. (At least with 2 players. With 4 it outstays it's welcome, but KoT drags no less!) I have not played any other Richard Garfield game since, though I guess Robo Rally might be to my liking.

I guess I’m the only one that thinks King of Tokyo is a not that good of a game I guess. I just don’t understand the appeal.

Jeff Connell you're not alone, so over hyped. I've played probably a dozen times and I doubt I'll play again.

Yep, I am with you to an extent. While I enjoyed it the first few plays, I have no desire to play it any further. It’s fine as a gateway and as a filler but I am constantly surprised by the amount of people crediting it’s longevity.
