The first canvas was so calm and understanding both in the original show and the redemption - kudos to him. I would have been a lot more upset/nervous!

Lydia handled her unhappy client the best of anyone else I've seen on this show... she didn't give time for the client to get disgruntled and she dropped the ego and listened to her client's concerns. In return, the client was super awesome and respectful. That is how to handle that kind of situation.

I understand their frustration but, I can't even imagine how much pressure they are in during this show! Between placement, subject, type, and time constraints I feel anxiety for the contestants! These all turned out wonderful in the end!!

I remember Lydia's tarantula. Honestly I was SO surprised that she wasn't even mentioned in the top. Then again a tattoo artist's eye and considerations of the future of the tattoos are not the same as us common folk.

I don't think they should have the canvases bring in guests. The first guy was so calm. While the solo lady was confrontational, it didn't get out of hand, and she had every right to be that upset. I can't imagine getting a coverup of a coverup. The times where the canvases brought in their significant others were a mess.

I honestly have no sympathy for canvases that aren’t happy with their tattoo. Not only is it a free tattoo, they are well aware it’s a competition and the artist’s are stressed, probably sleep deprived and have a time limit. When they say shit like “I have to walk around with this!!” Well maybe you should have gone somewhere and paid an artist that wasn’t restricted if it’s that important to you. Ink master is the only tattoo shop where the opinion of the customer isn’t all that important.

I amazed Sebastian managed to cover up that huge tattoo in such an eloquent way, that was a crazy cover up of a bad cover up

Peacock by Sebastian is my ultimate favorite tattoo in ink master history !!!

I loved Sebastian's redemption. I liked the human canvas and Sebastian's attitude. The tattoo was beautiful.

These tattoos look like they had bad aftercare. I’ve got tattoos that are years old and they don’t look nearly as washed out as these do.

The bad one from Clint really speaks to me. Honestly, he came from my current hometown of Mansfield, Texas. My emotions come from seeing this poor quality tattoo, as I got tattooed also in that shop and it came out horrible. And after healing I went back to that artist, since I was new on having tattoos, and was told it was fine. Only to be educated that my tattoo was blown out. And it made sense, my skin took ink well. But my "artist" hammered it in. I know someone better could've executed an old school razor, better than what I got. I still have it, but at best it's gonna need a very experienced cover up artist. And now I'm doing all of my homework. For tattoos, in my town Clint gets the celeb, notoriety. But no, RIP Clint. That's about it.

I noticed a common thing among these, when they were under preassure or on a set time limit and nervous they do worse but get them doing what they actually know and are good with without the preassure or time limitations and they can do so much better

Ok but some of this “clients” got a lot of audacity to talk like that to somebody that gave you not only a free tattoo but that you know is here for a competition and has a time limit… I said what I said 🤭

Honestly Stephanie is just lucky. Her first tatoo was not even that bad and that peacock would be at least a thousand dollars tatoo. And now she gets it for free.

I REALLY hate these "canvas revennnnge!!!" shows. There are soooo many factors that can affect how a tattoo heals. For one thing, these artists have a time limit on these tats and are undergoing extreme stress and pathological sleep deprivation, so you're GOING to have some scratchy lines and shading, etc. Also, every tattoo artist knows: All. Skin. Is. Different. My skin both takes and holds ink like a dream. I have one with no black outline, several white-ink areas, in full pastel color, that looks like it healed last week...from 2013. Other people have skin that rejects ink--that is why touch-ups are a thing. Some people do not CARE for their tattoos, which also results in poor lasting quality. Different STYLES of tattoos will heal better or worse. It's totally absurd to blame the artist every time a tattoo doesn't heal to a canvas's liking.

The Statue of Liberty looks like a pic of Angelina Jolie. That drawing of the koi dragon that Tito did as an option was pretty amazing I would have gotten it just as a koi fish. It looked really good

Sadly some of these people do not realize that artists can only do the best they can. Its a lot like taking a math test where you are not entirely certain you have all the answers right. There is always slight miscalculations that can greatly change the results. You may think you aced the test but all it takes is just a sharp eye and suddenly all the problems you think you solved are suddenly back with glaring issues. That is why many artists some times fail on inkmaster yet still have an amazing body of work. The pressure of the show becomes too hard on them and they fail the tests miserably. They can still put out great tattoos if they have the free time to get it done right but when put in a bad pressure cooker like inkmaster they overlook a little too much. A little empathy really helps people.

When he says he’s not a Guinea Pig, that’s a false statement. In a way the human canvases are Guinea Pigs since this is a competition with time limits and some of the challenges involve styles that the artists either don’t do or rarely do at all.

Some of these look like the canvas may not have done everything necessary in tattoo after care.
