thats honestly why he works as well as he does. he has the persona and demeanor of a joke character you'd just slap around. but he's actually really good at what he does and clearly deadly as fuck. Hes like if that nerdy socially awkward guy who buys katanas and watches krav maga videos and thinks he's deadly....was actually as dangerous as he thought.

Deadpool comics during Fabian Nicieza times is just like this character.

He is kind of a mirror to peacemaker. Peacemaker is a sociopath while vigilante is a psychopath Difference is peacemaker mental condition is due to trauma due to killing his brother and what his father did to him, while vigilante was born that way. Unlike peacemaker who can and did undo some of the damage he had on his mental health vigilante cannot.

@@odstraven9941 I thought I was the only one thinking about that considering Harcourt and Vigilante both being distraction for Peacemaker and both getting down but Vigilante getting back up. He also took the explosion real too close in the fight against White Dragon. Also, him mentioning that he needs some sleep to recover.

@@insygnia_ In most super hero shows I would blow that off but they made a big deal about Murn surviving that earlier explosion being suspect, and Harcourt with similar injuries takes a realistic rehab regiment while Vigilante just wakes up and leaps out the window like Spider-Man. It looks pretty clear that he has a healing factor.

I agree with this take. He works best because we don't see him all of the time. A series that was just/primarily him would probably burn out pretty fast or just end up being not the parts of the character that people have grown to love.

I think if Deadpool could successfully lead his own movie, then Vigilante could to. That said, it would have to be done perfectly, or it could ruin the character.

That's why they can have a show built around them Vigilante is utterly stupid and looks like he can't think if his life depends on it. And if you take that somewhat out you are gonna ruin the character. There is probably no other character that is like him.

Agreed. The group dynamic is why each character is so interesting.

Except several side characters in the MCU got shows and they did well. Wandavision, Loki, FATWS, Hawkeye, with more coming. Granted, they weren't necessarily all comic relief and got focus in the movies, but still. I think if Vigilante's story was expanded upon, it'd work. It doesn't even have to be a movie, it could be a series or limited series. And it could be about his origins, how he became Vigilante, what he does. There are literally so many ways that could work, chalking it down to "it won't work because he's comic relief" doesn't make much sense.

I don't think FATWS was as bad as everyone is making it seem. It's still has pretty good ratings. Wasn't the best, but it didn't suck. Marvel has definitely done worse.

In the comics he was more like DC's answer to the Punisher only it was a lot serious and at times bleak. I'm glad this sort-of changed in the sense that he's fun compared to what happens in the comics.

That's the one criticism I have with Peacemaker. I get Vigilante has his problems, but that dude was loyal as hell. He would have done anything for Peacemaker. But Adebayo is his second favorite?

Yeah. Adrian deserves so much better. Guy is more loyal than a dog, and despite being insane, was a game changer in every fight and mission he was on, but gets zero respect from everyone.

@@danatedawg1018 Numerous times Vig caught PM upset and tried to figure out what the problem was or tried to comfort him. He also saved PM's life on numerous occasions and was extremely loyal to him the entire show.

People say he's only a side character, but there is a LOT to his story. More importantly what the fuck drove him to be this way? Peacemaker is a lot more straight forward than Vigilante. Vigilante has some dark shit going on to drive a guy like him to do the things he does.
