Thank you to MSI for sending the MPG 321URX for review. Best OLED Yet - MSI MPG 321URX 4K 240Hz Monitor Review MSI may just have the best 32" OLED at least on paper as it boasts a ton of great features and performance, but at a far lower price than many other options. Not only that, but MSI seems to be committed to adding features and addressing issues requested by users. The question is... is this monitor actually good, or is it just good in theory.. MSI is doing great with these OLEDs. Loving my 271qrx, especially since the last update that fixed the white line issue. They are really putting in work on firmware to get these monitors perfect.
@@bibblebabl mpg line gets firmware updates. Mag line doesn't but slightly cheaper. Mpg has a few other things like type c laptop charging and stuff but otherwise very similar.
I play on console and my games look great in HDR on my LG G3. The 1500 nits of brightness plus the Expression Enhancer feature definitely makes a huge difference. I wanted this monitor for a smaller screen, but after this video I think I'm better off playing on my TV.
my buddy had it a said it was amazing. he had to return because he cleaned it with a microfiber cloth and it left a permanent smudge on the screen with some micro scratches. he went with the 27in 360hz version which is the one i bought.
What is 26 latency, what does 26 mean? When I go on the ratings website is states between 2.0 -2.6 latency for 240Hz monitors. Some monitors are sub 2 @ 1.8MS. So does 26 stand for 2.6MS?
26 stands for 26 miliseconds... but it's end to end latency not just monitor latency. Because that's what you care about... the end to end latency, not just monitor latency.
@thedisplayguy do you know if the mag oled firmware matches the mpg initial firmware/has the same issues? Or are they 2 separate firmwares for the same panel?
i was gonna get this or the aorus fo32u2p. the aorus was in stock so i got that instead rather than having to wait. some things i like about the aorus one more: the design without the stupid dragon gamer look at the back of the monitor which in my setup can be seen because my desk isn't against a wall. also in general it seems to get ever so slightly brighter.
Another review of this monitor and no showing or review of the KVM switch feature in how it works or how it performs...SMH I'll move on to the next........
This monitor supports usb c and is sharp enough to display text. I just switched from a 32in ips 4k monitor to a 27in 2k oled monitor for use with macos and I am still satisfied because the colors are beautiful.
How is this monitor at upscaljng from 1440p? I was thinking of getting 4K to future proof but some games I currently can’t play at 4K. Just wondering how it’s upscaljng is
I'm in the same boat asked this question on lots of youtube channels no luck with a response as im using a 3080 gpu waiting for the 5090 but would like the monitor now
ah well i know my thing is they are not bright enough and this monitor is the darkest 1 out of the lot the asus is the brightest . 400 why are they holding back for a gaming monitor? i think even 600 will only just be enough also.
Hey CoolCoyote, I have been using the LGc2 42 for about 2 years, 7k hours, and I keep it at 30% brightness. Its beautiful, accurate, and what you expect out of an OLED... I am immortal on Valorant, 16K on CS2, and I play a ton of single player too. dont let numbers keep you from a new experience
How’s the black flickering ? This is the worse of the 3 I’ve had compared to ASUs and Alienware for black flickering. However I do prefer everything else about it. Only fix was to turn gsync compatible off in nvidia driver
Just turn gsync off. People are so obsessed with having it on. I'm literally playing hellblade 2 with it off at 70fps and haven't noticed any screen tearing yet. It's so much less noticeable on OLED compared to other panel types. People are just so ocd about gsync.
@@dhuranwtf it's 100% about tearing and smoothness. I have zero issue with either without VRR. On VA or IPS it was an absolute must for me. On OLED I find it completely unnecessary in the games I play.
That almost guaranteed a cable issue. My aw3423dwf did the same thing (Samsung panel). Seems the connection wasn't great and unplugging and reinserting the dp cable while it's running completely fixed it. HDR also wouldn't enable when I had this issue. Was random black screen for a few seconds every half hour or so.
DIsplay guy I've been wanting to buy a 27 inch 1440p oled monitor. I don't know anything about monitors could you give me the best option. I don't have a budget
alienware msi or gigabyte, whichever is cheapest. they are all good. but the 360 qd oleds are far superioor to last gens w oled. the w oleds arent bright enough and matte screen is bad
@@samtheham3187Dell still has a lot of stock kicking around with old packaging so it could come scratched. Worth a try but if it comes scratched I'd just return and buy the next closest in price. If your first one is scratched your 2nd one likely will be to. My 2nd one was even after Dell guaranteed me it would be new packaging. It wasn't lol.
Hey. My asus rog swift pg32ucdm has some vrr flickering in some scenarios. Firstly, I tried capping my fps to something I can maintain. I noticed, that if the framerate is close to the lfc of the monitor, it will flicker like crazy because the fps of the VRR jump up and down rapidly. Only fix for this is-> more or less fps around that border. But in Forza horizon 5, with 120 fps capped and stable frametime and framerate (graph) there is flickering all over the fitting of the car (like a supra mk4). How does that happen? And how can I fix this? (Tried it on two different PCs) Do you guys know, if the new "oled flicker free" feature from the new asus rog 27 Inch monitor comes to the pg32ucdm? If you know how to fix that flickering in Forza and other games... Please feel free to message me here. Have a nice day!
@@marquislafeyette4543 yes I updated the firmware to 103. Did you test Forza horizon 5? In Cyberpunk2077 there is some little flickering in really dark areas. You have to focus on it if you're not sensitive to it. Like at night in a really dark area with for example stones, rocks, bushes, the street or the fitting in your car. Had the alienware aw3225qf with flickering as well but it was a lot more noticeable than the asus one. A big thing is the lfc (at 56 fps). Some games like avatar frontiers of pandora on 4k with unobtainium settings are to close to this border. And if it activates itself, it will flicker extremely because the VRR framerate gets doubled and jumps back to normal rapidly.
Just turn VRR off. It's honestly not necessary on OLED. You'd be surprised. I'm playing Hellblade 2 at 70fps with it off and haven't noticed tearing at all and I was super sensitive to it on IPS and VA.
@@MrDutch1e I know that it's less than on IPS or VA, but I want to use it. And I paid for it so it's not an acceptable solution to turn it off. If everyone thinks like you (not offense) the companies won't change anything. I'll test it a little bit more in other games and I'll see how it performs. However have a nice day!
@@Kaudrag33 I don't see a reason to run it tbh. I haven't seen a single tear line in like 2 hours of hellblade 2. I'm literally looking for it to. Like its a non issue and there's no reason to run VRR other than tearing. I thought I'd notice it right away but didn't at all. I normally run it off because I'm playing COD at 250+ fps anyways where you'd expect it to be less noticeable. Honestly just try it.
I opt to get this vice the ASUS OLED monitor due to I have moved away from ASUS brand after the Gamer's Nexus viral video about the extortion that ASUS attempted.
It checks most of the boxes for me, but it’s a shame the body feels so cheap and low-budget. For a premium product, they really should have put in more effort. There’s a difference between a clean, minimal look and just looking cheap. Plus, it’s £200 more than the Alienware 3225QF and £100 more than the new Samsung S80G80SD in some places, like the UK.
I returned the mag version of this because it’s literally impossible to hide the cables from hanging down below the monitor. It’s so stupid how low they put them and I’m not trying to buy right angle adaptors just to make it work.
@@dhuranwtf sure, but it's way more obvious on QD OLED panels, than on WOLED. It's really distracting! It really gives you a headache! Only fixed fps /VSync helps out - pretty crappy.
I consider myself lucky I got this. There were only 4 in stock nation-wide 2 weeks ago, I even paid the extra $50 shipping. By the time it arrived 7 days later, they're all sold out!
If you match the FPS to the maximum stable FPS your computer can deliver it defeats the purpose of variable frame rate... as it's, guess... no longer variable, genius.
Dear Author! dear friends! Hi. I have this monitor. Please pay attention to important things that for some reason no one is talking about (the first one is VERY important): 1. If you look at the screen of this monitor directly, as usual, the colors are not very strong, but noticeably dimmer than if viewed from angles. This is very important and annoying, because when you approach the monitor, the colors are brighter and when you sit down at it, they get darker. This is probably a flaw in the matrix that can hardly be fixed programmatically. On the first point: I consider this unacceptable for a monitor in this price category. He's not worth his money. 2. Night vision in the AI position - in games with a top view (Dota 2 for example) - especially if you move the camera away with the mouse wheel on the replay - when you move the screen, light vertical stripes moving in the direction of the screen movement are clearly visible. 3. Indeed, the HDR 1000 greatly reduces the overall brightness to an unacceptable level. Good luck to everyone
The alienware is not without its flaws. Have they even ironed out all the issues yet because people were sending them back like crazy according to reddit. Basically, the dw with dldsr and dlss outputs better quality than washed out qf at 4k.
Noone cares my guy. You're buying the wrong display for DV movie watching lol DV support doesn't mean shit if the display is doing HDR 400. just get a damn TV wtf 😂
The price situation is quite weird in EU, this one is slightly more expensive than the Auorus for example. And nothing is really cheaper than that 1500$ Aorus. Asus is 1850, that's proper stupid right ? :D I find it hilarious how I keep hearing that these are available for 950$... and cheapest one in EU is 50% more expensive. So glad I bought the S90C for about 1000.
@brandonholloman6835 for myself and the average gamer, yes this is amazing and their oled care tool is really good. I've experienced no issue man. Screen is awesome, good brightness, it's half glossy and matte which sounds weird but trust it works. I would recommend.
@39TopBleeder yes I play mostly single player games like unchartered 4, ghost of tsushima etc. It's good bro I don't know what else to say, I don't work for MSI so im not selling that snake oil. I'd say samsung g8 oled is coming out so have a look at that but I'm very happy with my product, it's not shy of imperfections as nothing is but it's good
Sadly 2199 in Australia and that converts to 1463 USD. Alienware is 1890 in Australia. I wonder how does this price difference in different regions benefit these brands
Had to reconfigure my gaming room lighting to make it dimmer so that i can enjoy these new QD Oleds ...using a super bright Innocn now waiting my Asus QD oled to arrive mid june
I bought the mag version. The brightness is not bright enough. My lg c2 while playing cs2 and other games, just seem much brighter . You think the new Samsung g80sd is brighter ?
@@Senyrar Sure, it's not as deep black as WOLED, but you hardly notice it when playing in a low-light room with a backlight setup for the monitor. At first, I was a bit disappointed compared to my C2 42, but after using it for a while, I've really grown to love it. The purple tint, which was initially a concern, is no longer an issue for me.
Yeah best OLED as long as you can get one. Fortunately for you RU-vidrs that review tech you get to have one for free and sent by the manufacturer itself. Us regular people who literally want to give MSI our money for this product, we can't purchase it because is no where to be found, or better said PAPER LAUNCH. OR MSI is regretting lowering the price and are about to do something really anti-consumer, such as changing the model name and raise the price, seeing that people area willing to pay $1300 for the Asus one.
Will you review the intehill u13na, its 13.4 4k, 16:10 aspect ratio and glossy. Been waiting for a detailed review like yours to get into it and its only $200
it does have a bit of gamer look… It is literally a gaming monitor that should not be used for anything else. As far as I know, you have a three year burnin warranty but they change your panel only once then your burnin warranty is over. Also they may change it with a refurbished one not necessarily with a brand new panel. Yes it looks excellent, perfect colors, unbelievably fast response time etc but it feels like a scam to me.
I still can't decide between this MPG 321URX QD-OLED and Asus ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM. Especially HARD on/off, cause on some monitors no differences at all like recent Samsung OLED 32 G8.
@@clave2049lol NO. VERY BIG NO. Giant NO. ASUS fix lot of issues I mean hdr1000 dimming /overall dimming, and from this moment MSI is a waste. Again: I own this monitor and this is absolutely waste money, time, nerves
I'm over this OLED hype. I've tried the previous 1440p gen, and now I've tried the 4k gen. Between babysitting the monitor, dealing with VRR flicker, inconstant brightness between SDR/HDR, and having worse text clarity. I'm just no longer interested. Honestly, with how much guff people gave the PG32UQX; it is still the best HDR experience I've ever had on a monitor. And yes, I own both OLED and miniLED displays.
@@Dubulcle I have an LG, it's not as good as my miniLED displays. It's the subpixel layout. And my other gripes still hold true even if it were "better."
