Hey Soy! Yes you can use it vertically but the only issue would be standing it up vertically. The included case will not allow it to stand vertically. You would need something to hold it in that position which is the only down side. Hope that helps and thank you for checking out the video and the channel. If there's anything else I can help you with let me know.
Just purchased this monitor with my new computer setup hopefully this is what I've been looking for thanks for the video!!! also just noticed you only have 60 subs defiantly thought you had about 60k subs! Keep up the good work
DroppingAcid hey! Thank you! Appreciate you stopping by and checking out the video and channel! I’ve been enjoying the monitor too and I hope you it’s what’s you’ve been looking for. If there’s anything else I can help you with let me know. Let me know what you thought of the monitor when you get it and thank you so much for the kind words!
Awesome vid, bro. just a couple questions. can i power it from 1 usb c port while using the other one to display my phone so it doesnt drain my phone battery? what is the response time (ms)?
Hey Liam! I'm so sorry for the late reply but to answer your question. in order to power this monitor you will need an external power of 10w or greater but once you connect one to the usb-c port you can definitely use the other usb-c to your phone. The response time is 25ms. This is more of a casual user or productivity monitor. if you want a faster monitor I believe ASUS makes one. Hope I was able to answer your questions and if you have another questions let me know. Again sorry for the late response. Thank you for checking out the channel and video also for the kind words!
Thanks for the review! But In have 2 questions. 1. Can u hook it up to a Standart desktop pc as a secondary monitor? I want to be flexible otherwise I would've chosen a normal monitor. 2. Why is MSI branding it with 4 ms response time, but the retailers say it has 25?
Hey Rusher! Thanks for checking out the video and the channel! Truly appreciate it. Yes, you can hook it up to your standard desktop. you can go out from your PC via HDMI to a Mini HDMI to make it to a secondary monitor. It is very flexible for your home desktop and taking it on the go. I have no clue why they are branding it with 4ms response. But that's a very good question to ask MSI. Hope that helps and if I can help you with anything else let me. Thanks again for stopping by and good luck!
I need to stop watching your videos or I’ll be broke! Hahaha! This looks awesome! Appreciate the overview. Definitely something I’ll be putting on the wish list.
Good video! I have two question. Is it possible to turn off the screen of my smartphone while connected to the screen(so thr phones screen is turned off and the monitor is on, sharing the phones screen)? Also is it possible to power the screen trough the type-c cable from my phone while sharing the screen trough it?
Hey Zold! Sorry for the late reply but regarding your question unfortunately no it won't work I've tried it and the phone needs to be on and the phones do not have the power to power the monitor. You will need an external power bank. Hope that helps but if you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask. Thank you again for stopping the channel and checking out the video.
Hello ! Very nice review ! I have a question : can we connect a smartphone like android to the monitor ? Even if it's not a touch screen. And also how ?
Hey Dral! Thanks for checking out the video and the channel. As far as I know yes you can connect your smartphone to the monitor. you would need a mini HDMI or USB c to the monitor and then a USB c to your smartphone if you have an android. As for the controls it would just be controlled from your smartphone. So what I would suggest is to find out what type of output connection your smartphone uses which I would assume is USB c and then you can decide on getting a cable from USB c to a mini HDMI or USB c to USB c because the monitor can accept both. Also on their website, it says it can connect to a smartphone. Hope that helps!
Hey Alex! Comparing it to that Asus the MSI is a great and basic external monitor. For me I love the thin profile and the price but after looking at the Asus It is a bit more expensive but it does have a couple of things the MSI doesn't. The built in battery and the automatic orientation. Which I do believe is justified by the more expensive price. So if that matters to you then I would go with the Asus but if you are looking for a small thin factor and you don't need the built in battery or auto orientation then you will be happy with the MSI. I hope that helps. If I can get that matter for review I'll definitely make a video for you guys. But thanks for checking out the channel and the video. Truly appreciate it!
Thanks for this awesome review! I have a question and sorry if you covered this and I missed it. Would I be able to connect this monitor to an iPhone 12 Pro Max and would the monitor be powered by the phone itself without needing to connect to an outlet? And would there be a way to adapt the screen ratio of the phone and display so that it "fills" it nicely when viewing photos? Thanks!
Hey Gustavo! So sorry for the late response but to answer your question. You can connect your phone but you will need a power bank to power it. The iphone is not strong enough to power it unfortunately and the monitor does not have a built in battery. As for the screen ration unfortunately there is no way to change or adapt to the screen ratio. Hope that helps and i do apologize for the late response. Thank you for stopping by and checking out the channel and the video. take care and stay safe.
Thanks for this awesome review! I have a question. Is this possible to charge the phone via the first USC-C connector of this monitor, wheres the second Thunderbolt connector of this monitor is connected to the laptop's Thunderbolt?
I bought this model but I can't have the Nintendo switch working using USBC to USBC cable. Any idea would be appreciated. I see that's possible with cheaper portable monitors..
Hey T'occupes! I was only able to make it work using the hdmi to mini hdmi. I dont think the nintendo switch can output video via its usb c connection. Hope that helps and thank you for checking out the video and the channel. If you have any other questions please let me know.
@@crimsonburngaming Hey, thank you for the reply. Actually the Switch can output the video through USB-C, you can find a lot of videos on RU-vid with cheaper monitors. About this MSI model, I see in this video the guy is doing it too : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YzTGA_lR2AM.html That's weird, I bought it especially for the Switch, I'm disappointed ^^
How can you give a video the title “best” of something when you are not comparing it to anything? But you are the only one who (I could find) did a video review on this monitor, so thanks for that
Thanks Romeo for checking out the video and channel! I don't know if its the best portable monitor that's why I put a question mark on the title, but I appreciate your comment and hopefully, I can get other portable monitors to review to compare it too.
Hey Luis! Yes you can but you will need a different stand for it since the stand that it comes with isn't that great for vertical use, but yes it can. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions and thank you for stopping by the channel and checking out the video.
Hey Hero! Awesome SN by the way! Yes its definately a great second monitor if are limited in space. I use it alot with my imac in my other office. The best part is you can use as need be since its so portable and keep a nice clean desk. So yes i highly recommend it as a second monitor. Hope I was able to answer your question and thank you for checking out the channel and the video. If you have any other questions please let me know.
So let say I want to simply connect from the thunderbolt on my laptop to this portable monitor, then we don't have to add another power adapter to power the monitor right?
Hi Khalifany. Yup as long as the usb c on your laptop provides power which it should. Then yup you are good go. Hope that helps and thank you for stopping by the channel and checking out the video. If you have any other questions let me know.
@@crimsonburngaming Thank you for your reply. Yes, I presume that the thunderbolt 3 port on my laptop will provide the power that is needed by the monitor
Hey Raza! The response time is ok it’s about 25ms. Not the greatest but I’ve tried it with my Xbox and warzone and it did the job. If your a casual gamers on the good you should be good but if you want faster FPS then I believe asus makes one that 240hz double the price though. Hope that helps. Thank you for stopping by the channel and checking out the video truly appreciate it. If you have any other questions let me know.
Hey Kamal! Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video as well as the channel. Regarding your question yes you can connect your phone. You you just need the wire coming out of your cellphone to the hdmi input on the monitor and you will need an external usb power brick i believe about 10 watts to plug to one of the usb c ports on the monitor and you're good to go. Hope that helps and if you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.
Thank you! Yes, I've definitely addressed that and purchased a pop filter for future videos lol. Thank you again for stopping by the channel. Appreciate it!
Muzaffar Karim thanks for checking out the channel and video! Yes you can absolutely connect it to your ps4 and Xbox. All you need is the right hdmi cable. Hope that’s helps if you have any other questions let me know!
crimsonburn gaming thank you very much it helped only one more thing that I just forgot it’s the fact that you have to plug in you’re PS4 power supply and I don’t have a plug nearby it’s a major bummer because I was almost gonna buy it 😞
@@erickreyes_TheMage05 Thanks for checking out the video and the channel and thank you for subscribing! As for the hdmi cable. its a mini hdmi into the monitor to a regular hdmi to a laptop or game console. Hope that helps and if you have any questions let me know. Attached is the cable i use amzn.to/30rRM9R
Thanks Damien for stopping by and yes I bought a pop filter. Lol new videos will be dropping soon with better sound quality. Don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss anything. Thanks again for checking out the channel
Hey Xu Han! yes it works with all gaming consoles as long as you have the right right HDMI cable. Hope that helps! Thanks for checking out the video and the channel!
Hey TC! I agree i wish it could be a lot brighter. Thank you for checking out the video and channel. Truly appreciate it. If you have any questions I can help you with let me know.
