Haven't had a chance to test if it holds zero, but mounts just fine and has nice clear glass. Centered vertically true to a plumb line with the crosshairs which is always a plus! It's a great ru-vid.comUgkxc4K63Fd5LglDMObu7-Bgapxp_ef0W8hE scope. There's no parallax adjustment or focus ring, so may be limited to 3-7x, have to see how it is on the range. Also be aware that the rings are "look through" so you can still use irons, but they are really tall if you only intend to use the optics. On a 22LR no biggie since I'm not shooting competitions or worried about a hard cheek press. Will boresight and range test, if all goes well, I'll leave it at that!
I understand and appreciate your apprehension about sampling/ testing and evaluating the Extreme/ Elite price level scopes... They're all so good, but they cost the price of some people's cars, and that's a hard pill to swallow for many. Kahles, Schmidt & Bender, Vortex Razor Gen 3's, Zero Compromise, Tangent Theta, Steiner, Zeiss LRP, Leupold Mark Series, Apex Optics etc. Some of these are literally Grail Scopes to many.
I have a Zeiss conquest V6 2-12 as my hunting scope, and a Vortex Diamondback tactical 6-24. I can tell you, the Zeiss is clear, can be used almost untils its black outside and makes identifying animals/birds at long ranges easy. I has no paralax adjustment, but for hunting it does not really matter. the Vortex only works for range work, the eyebox is not great and clarity is not much to brag about. but it works, and i can use it on my 22LR with 15 m paralax. The zeiss is a dedicated hunting scope, and frankly in sweden 99% of the shots are inside 100m. The zeiss was 4 times more expensive, atleast, then the vortex. No wheels or stuff to mess up, aim the scope on the thing u want dead and fire. And with the clarity identifying animal, male, age etc is easy.
Love my primary Arms glx scopes !! Glad they made the cut for this video! Got them on Black Friday for less than $500 each and that’s a steal of a deal! Wish we could have more scopes in stock, but guess I’ll have to wait until the world stops being weird!! Good job sir!!
Just when I have my mind made up I stumble across another one of your videos and then the wheels start turning again. I think I'll stick to my original pick, the Riton 7 Conquer 3-18x50 and for this reason only. I currently have a Riton 3 Conquer 3-15x44 and every time one of my buddies who has a $1200+ scope looks through mine they all say the same thing, "no way this is a $600 scope". Keep the videos coming, I enjoy your no bullshit approach.
Another great video Joe. I own most of the scopes on this list. My two favorites are Leupold and Swarovski. My favorite scope not on this list is a Kahles. Thanks for the video!
Nice job as always... The one that stands out to me (and I own a couple of the ones you mentioned) that's not on your list is the Sightron SIII line. Really nice scopes, excellent quality and amazing glass. They come in a wide range of magnifications up to 50 power in both FFP and SFP and each model comes in a number of different reticle styles.
Great video !!!! Thanks again Mr. Joe !!!! I really love my Meopta Optika6 3-18x56 ffp MRAD. They make everything in house , including their lenses. Great Company 🙂
I own 3 Meoptas and they are tough to beat. One FFP ZD and two SFP Meostar 4-16x44mm. The ZD is 3-12x50mm Tactic and is a 30mm tank made of actual steel. It's an older model designed specifically for 308 Win using a 168 grain Sierra boat-tail. And all of them excell in low light.
@@stricklyreloading8494 Okay, I'm deciding between that and a Trijicon. Mainly, which ones have better glass, also I've heard that Triji likes to keep their production line out of China. Btw, have you heard anything about Zeiss v4's being made in China at all?
@@richpryor9650 these days, a scope being made in China isn’t necessarily a bad thing, depending on the model. I’ve heard really good things about the Ares ETR. TibersaurusRex channel did a great review on it. Not sure about any of the others you mentioned! Hope you give my channel a look!
Nice video. I would have included in the list the Meopta Meostar series (I own the r1 3-12x56) and of course, the Meopta ZD series (I own the 4-16x44 and from my point of view is without any doubt an Alpha scope under 1200€)
Hi Joe, Wasnt sure the best way to get in touch but new you would like to here maybe my disgust at this Hawke Touch scope and the excuse I got from customer service as to why it happened. Basically the side focus jammed after 2 yes 2 shots from my PCP and others appear to have had the same. Anyway thanks always for your reviews, Ian UK.
I have the Leupold VX3i 4.5-14 LRP with CCH reticle. I've won three Rimfire matches with it. We shoot a 50-225yd match with targets every 25 yards between those distances. Targets are 1"to 4" diamonds. This scope repeats like a SWFA with a great ranging reticle, and better glass. Being able to read the mirage has been so easy, I'm not changing a thing. It's mounted to a custom CZ 452Varmint. Cheers Cyclops!
I was a long range precision firearms instructor for 45 yrs. The only scope I found better than the Nightforce is the IOR and no one better to deal with then Val!!! I used Unertl for 35 yrs they were top shelf as well, sadly they are long gone!! Y'all take care, Vern
So many videos I see all have the element nexus in it, I think that’s the one I’m gonna go with. Thanks for the videos man they help me make expensive decisions that I don’t regret later.
I wanted to tell you because of this video my second scope will be a zeiss! You say their one of the best, and my big sis is a professional photographer and says "zeiss has some of yhe best glass in the world!"Again thankyou for your video and your time and energy spent making these awesome videos!!Have a great day Joe!!
Thankfully you have guided me to awesome scopes in the past that don’t cost this much. These high dollar scopes must be the shit cause a lot of guys will spend so more for their optics than they do their rifles. Someday maybe I will get to see what all the fuss is about. Thanks for the info about RITON Scopes. The X1 Conquer 6-24X50 is working superbly, and I got it for 179$ It hasn’t missed a beat brother. Great advise, and I am thankful. Take care and God bless.
Need a new scope for my 308. Considering the primary arms and the tract. I keep hearing about the glass on the tract but the glx is about 500$ cheaper with the same features. Any recommendation?
Thank You, another Great informative video. I collect the Ruger MK II Boat PAddles Rifles, needing 2-scopes for these flat shooters. I will research your work. Excellent Timing...
Thanks for your reviews and videos. Great stuff and much appreciated.. I'm glad you included the Nightforce SHV. Even though they may not have as crystal clear glass as some of these newer scopes. They also don't have as much adjustment as my NXS's, but they track incredibly well. For the money, I have not been disappointed. I'm thinking about buying a Zeiss V4 6-24x50 and doing a little comparing myself.
Joe, You are the funniest shooter on the planet. Honest and down to earth. At some point could you review what we brits call a peep hole sight (thought that may get your tackle tingling), I think you may call them ghost ring sights. Keith
So I’m new to this page and thought I knew a lot about optics. Boy was I wrong. I’ve had a couple Vortex razors, Vipers, Nightforce and Leupold including my Mark 5 HD. I just bought the Leica amplus 6. Put it next to my razor and mark 5 hd. That Leica is in a whole different ball park. Glass is unbelievable. I thought the others were great until I put it next to the Leica. Also, it’s about 800 cheaper than the razor and mark 5. Wouldn’t have even looked if I hadn’t watched this video.
@@CyclopsJoeVideos it was just thinking out loud. I love your channel. I trust your reviews and I love the attitude you have. The videos you make about the haters always crack me up. Keep up the good work
I once sat next to a Swarovski crystal sales rep on an international flight. Yes, she was hot AF too and spoke with an accent. Anyway she gave me a lesson on the pronunciation of Swarovski. “SWAR-OFF- SKI” is the best way to say it.
Thanks for the reviews Joe! I mean it. Question (sorry to ask again if was covered) ...on your list in this video, which would you buy hands down if you were given $1500? ...and if was your own $1500? Thanks again.
I have 7 of the golden eagles. Yes 7. lol The only down fall IMO is they don't have a zero stop. Being SFP you can hold crazy small at very long ranges.
Awesome video joe your reviews are always spot on just mounted a riton x5 conquer on a creedmoor they are pretty legit scopes also I would like to see you get your hands on one and do a review good job again👍
Anyone watching this, look at the Athlon Ares ETR. Amazing turrets and better glass than the Midas Tac. It is truly an amazing bang for your bucks scope
I really like your presentation about the scopes you test. I’m really interested in the new Steiner Predator 8 scopes. How much better are the 8s vs the 4s?
MR CYXLOPS I M ON A FIXED IN COME ITS HARD TO GET THE SCOPE TO PUT ON MY 270 CAL IT HARD TO FIND ONE I CAN A FORD BUT SOME DAY I WILL I DREAM A BOUT THE ONE I WANT KEEP THE GOOD WORK UP I WATCH YOUR VEDIOS EVERY DAY AND NIGHT I AM LEARNING A ;OT FROM YOU
Hey! I have and extra Vortex I might be willing to sell. I upgraded my scope but it is still a great scope. I got a good deal on it and would be happy to give you a good deal on it.
I'd like to see you review the Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25X56 if you haven't already done so. Always respect your opinion and always enjoy your short and to the point vide. Great work.
Damn I've been trying to figure out which scope to put on a Christensen Arms 6.5prc. My budget was 800 to 1200. The Zeiss conquest is at the top of my list. I like to be different. The Tract and the Element scopes are both of great interest. I'm in no big hurry, because I've got a Arken scope on the rifle right now that I'm satisfied with.
I appreciate your objective analysis. I have ordered an anschtz 64 . The delta striker hd seems to be a good match for this rifle. I want a combination that I can strike matches. Have to have better equipment than when I was young.
Hi Joe. If you were to have a choice between a Delta Stryker 4.5-30x56 and The Meopta Optika 6 5-30x56 which would you buy?. I appreciate you may not be able to answer this if you have not tested this Meopta. I would really like you to do a review on this scope also. Many thanks once again for you videos. I love them!. Kris (UK)
I haven't tested that Meopta . But I've seen it in person and shot a rifle with it . Very Impressive Scope !! But the Stryker is my favorite scope in that price range . It's just a perfect package in my eyes
What about Texas precision optics, have you had a chance to check them out, I really enjoy your videos, opened my eyes to things I'd of over looked before, thanks pat
I got a Leupold Rifleman that I have had on a break barrel air rifle, my SAM7R ak variant and a .22lr and a 17hmr, It has been treated like a prostitute on the dirty boulevard for a decade now. It still holds zero and I put 10,000+ breakbarrel shots thru it befre someone told me that will destroy it . So I put it on my 22 or my 17 for 5000+ rounds and have a thousand + with it on my ak. It has performed admirably evn after my Malinois knocked them over and even off tables onto concrete . I can send it back and Leupold will refurbish and or replace it for life. I want to send it but it still works fine,it is invaluable to me and its like a 250 dollar optic.. 3-9x40. I wish I could afford a 1000 dollar optic. I will someday soon but i don't think it will give me the same value as my Leupold especially after the way it has been treated and put on a half dozen different rifles from break barrels to 7.62x.39 on an AK. It is on a PCP airgun now. It is the only scope that did not rattle apart from the break barrel air rifle an beast the umarex octane my 150$ Bushnell came apart from it. It might end up being the best scope of my life the way it refuses to die. Love the videos you make thanks
Which one would be best for a hunting situation at 500 yards max here are my choices: Leupold vx5 HD Swarovski z3 Zeiss conquest v4 Vortex Razor HD LHT
nice! thanks joe! i'm calmly taking my time looking for a nice scope for my ptr-91. i'm taking my time (well, cuz i HAVE to lol - cataract surgery), but that will give me time to also get one or two 50 round drums, lol! i like this video, cuz i'm just NOT going to spend $3k for a scope for this rifle. i'm sure i can find something in this price range or even a little cheaper. i really appreciate your vids man!
Joe, you said you are not a fan of Nightforce. I was wondering why. I have never owned one, but it kind of seems like Nightforce should be my next purchase (until watching this video) even though it's definitely out of my price range. Love your work.
I have owned 2 and both weren't what I would have liked optically. The newer ones are much better for sure . But the two NXS models I owned I sold after a short time because I had better scopes that cost less
Yep, my buddy had a nightforce NXS and I had just purchased a new Weaver super slam euro scope. We took them out to compare them all the way until it was too dark to see. My Weaver super slam was optically much better than the nxs. I don't know if you've ever had any experience with the weaver super slam scopes, but just thought I'd mention it in case you had. The super slam I have is an absolute killer scope. I don't know if all of them were as good, but mine is without a doubt the best scope I've ever owned or looked through.
Here's a totally Baddass scope line that i just mounted on my 338 Lapua Magnum, how about a review of Brownell's 5-25x56mm and the 3-18x50mm Match Performance Optic rifle scopes...we need to watch your review.
Thanks for the video, keep em coming! I'm looking for an optic in this price range for a bolt 308 mostly-range/maybe some hunting rifle. I saw a good deal on a Vortex Viper PST Gen II 3-15x44; (~$900) would be curious to get your thoughts on this optic, if it's worth the money or if it would be better to shop something else on this list. Thanks in advance!
Nothing vortex below razor series the lht id recommend or tract man they have crazy good shit hunting or elr or if u r ok with a basic duplex reticle the leaupold vx5
Which would be you use out of all these including all models you've tried since for an Ultralight non magnum hunting rifle build with 600 yard max shooting range and wanting a good low power with a wide field of view for fast accusation 50 yard shots?
Hey Joe if you had to choose between the Zeiss 5 in a 2x10 or Swarovski z3 in 3x10 which would you recommend . Here in Ohio we don’t shoot much passed 130yds. Real sorry bout your loss ole bud
Have you ever checked out the crimson Trace line of rifle scopes cuz I have not seen anything from you on this. And if so what is your opinion on the overall quality tracking and durability
Hey Joe. Have you had a chance to look at the Crimson Trace riflescopes? Their series 2 line 6-24x56 with 34mm tube and Japanese glass scope that’s made in Japan with a full lifetime warranty that seems to be a helluva scope for $499 on Amazon at the moment.
Hey Joe . Thanks again. Great job on the videos. Helped me heaps. Mate I just bought this scope , have you used this model? If so can you remember what you thought? Hoping to use it as an allround scope. All good if you cant. Cheers Jon L. BUSHNELL TAC OPTICS LRS 4.5-30X50 SF 30MM MIL DOT - BUBT4305
I just got into your videos. When you say “air rifle” do you mean springer break barrels only (because these break barrels need certain scopes to handle their double recoil) or also pcp’s where there is no double recoil? I’m looking for a good scope to out in my break barrel that can handle the goddamn harsh recoil.
Cyclops Videos Joe W Rhea Just did a quick research on your first pick of the bushnell ar optics and they are mainly used on firearms if I’m correct..and last I checked a firearm scope doesn’t work well with the recoil and vibrations from an air rifle? Correct me if I’m wrong I just don’t want to buy an expensive scope to have it break because it’s used on a air rifle.
@@CyclopsJoeVideos I’m really leaning towards Swarovski but i can get a lot more magnification options with other companies is Swarovski with it? Thinking z5 2.4 x12 50 what’s your opinion or the 3.5x18 44 also z5
Holy shit , Joe brother you need an exorcist ... that is some freaky ass paranormal activity caught on video at 34 seconds. Better leave some good bourbon/holy water out by the stump . Would make a hell of a good piece offering. Damn thing might be a freak 🤣🤣🤣🤣
