Messed with dellortos a bit on a motoguzzi california II I wrenched on and off for twenty years. These PWK carbs seemed similar until your detailed explanation. Good job sir.
PWK makes a 009 svda distributor for aircooled motors. I've added one to my dune buggy. It works just as well as my empi svda on my baja. I'm lookin forward to more products of theirs i can use.
some good advice there Steve but could have mentioned the common problems with the patern versions like the fuel feed needing drilling out and the float bowl being a bit on the small side👍
Never had to drill one out ? And the bowls are big enough and exactly the same as original . Let talk about delorto problems ? Nothing a big hammer dont fix . Biggest pile of over priced rubbish . Bit of damp and the slide sticks . Design is about 40 years out of date . You need to replace just about everything inside to get it to work ? As far as I can see face book is full of people with running problems with delorto ..... the floats fill up with fuel . They are just a shocking piece of %$$$#%
Mikuni are great carbs pal , I ran a 34 flat slide on my scooter at avon park many years ago . Great power got 87 mph 14.7 seconds on my road scooter beating everything that weekend in the street class and run what you brung , making me the fastest road scooter in the uk at that time ......
Hi great show ,I too like the pwk ,I'm running a 230 monza, vape variable ignition,jl pipe got off a mate.i would like too run the pwk 30mm do you have a base setting too get me started ie pilot, main jet,and maybe needle size!the jl I'm using I think is a fast road but it's quite narrow expansion good pull power through the gears,19x46 but it feels tight too me, I intend too sell the jl to go towards a larger expansion but would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks from tup
Great video. I was curious about that brass pole in front of the pilot jet, what is it use for? Mine was snapped and im not recognize any change on anything yet.
Great video Steve, i'm setting mine exactly the same as you have shown here for my 185cc alloy SR kit with sterling pipe, my pwk is a 30mm, do you think it will be ok with the 115 main and 42 pilot with the 20 hole atomiser? many thanks
I know your big advocate of kehin ,pwk carbs I've just built a casa ss220 and currently have a vhsb 34 on it ,that am not only struggle to get set up cleanly ,they are god damn thirsty and am wanting to try maybe a 30ml ,can you recommend or give any advice . I've just seen a 30ml racing pwk about 100 quid any thoughts ,suggestions appreciated tia Stew
I'm guessing you have a stroked ss200 same as I have on my race scooter . I run the 34 mm pwk on it runs smoothly and fuel is OK compared to the dellorto. Just go on ebay or alli and buy a cheap one for around 35 pounds change atomiser to a 20 hole polini and jut it up . I'm running 165 main and 45 pilot no power jet ...... good luck . If you need help once you have to just get in touch . 30 mm better choice for road .
Steve, what was the final jetting to that carb at the end after you had set it up on that guys scooter? You mentioned 42 pilot and 115 main jet. What was the final settings once tested and run?
Great video - my mate is running a PWK 36 on an SS225 but has problems starting it - checked everything and it seems to be the choke not giving enough gas - is there anything can be done? On a Delly we’d just put a bigger starter jet in.
