Roasted, buttery, salted pecans? Delicious, easy to make for a crowd, what could be a better game day snack while watching football on a Saturday afternoon?! This recipe is mouth-watering...for any day, any crowd, any excuse!
Also the best homemade Christmas present ever!
BTW yes, those blackened nuts coming out of the oven are NOT supposed to look that way! Do NOT get distracted and leave these in too long. They are usually foolproof and beautiful. Unbelievably, these were still tasty (if a little too crunchy), but there is still no excuse. Do as I said, not as I did. Follow the recipe exactly!! (Loyal HFK followers know all too well that this is the show that screws up so you don't have to!)

At first I thought you were joking but then overcooked mine and your right. They look burned but actually still taste great. I took them to work and attracted lots of attention. Then they tried them and understood why I liked them anyway. lol. Haha.Looks can be deceiving.

But that makes me nervous! Did you bake them at 250 for an hour per the directions, or walk away and forget them for a little longer. If you followed the directions but still burned them, I need to recheck them and maybe reduce the time. They really should be golden brown like the photo (I made those, too, but was more attentive!! 😬).

My Grandmother and Aunt made these every year during the holidays and I never could get enough! I decided to make some yesterday following your recipe and tips/suggestions (especially salt...I used abt 1/2 the recipe amt also) and they turned out great!!! YUMMY THANK YOU! (P.S. in attempt to prevent over-browning, I watched them pretty close and actually ended up cooking a little bit longer, but had lowered temp to 235 deg F a couple of times.)

Thanks, Karen. I hope you bought loads from the Palma Ceis Methodist sale! These pecans are so addictive. Clearly I don't have enough salt in my diet!

Hi Harriet, it's new recipe to me and I don't know how it made, just buy from the store, lol. The salt pecans looks absolutely delicious! Great recipe and nice presentation!👍🔔😋😍

Thank you, Theara. It's SO easy. You can buy bags of pecans (not the already salted nuts in cans!) at the grocery store - or order from a pecan grower online! I buy mine in 5 lb boxes from the Palma Ceia Methodist Church fundraiser once a year (fresh from the groves), decant them by the half pound into zip lock bags, then freeze them. They keep beautifully. Then once roasted, drain and keep at least a week or two (if there are no stealth eaters in your house!) in airtight containers. If you try it, let me know how it goes.

Mortified!!!! YES!!!! They are usually perfect, but I moseyed off to do something else and left them just too long!!! What a dummy! Easiest recipe on the planet, too! As I have often said, this is the show that screws up so you don't have to!

Sigh. You are so right. The recipe is foolproof; I just had an emergency interruption and slid back into the kitchen a little too late. Didn't have replacement pecans, and wanted to get the episode out. They still tasted amazing, but looked overdone...which they were! Not burnt, but not the usual golden perfection. Don't follow my example!
