*Works great: **Fastly.Cool** and Warming environment perfectly controlled. I use 3 in different grow tents. It’s nice to see from your phone how your tent temps are. Does High and Low and records data.*

I have the Honeywell WiFi receiver the same as the one in the video, will the Google nest work with that or will I need a third WiFi hub, Thanks.
@Heatable
@Heatable 2 года назад
Hi John, if you’re referring to your receiver which is wired in, then it will need to be replaced and will have to be a nest one. However, you shouldn’t require your Honeywell if you’re upgrading controls. Hope this helps!

Okay so I have a particular problem that I’m sure I’m not unique in having…… I’m a shift worker and work 4 days on then 4 days off constantly rotating unless on holiday……so a traditional 7 day Monday to Sunday timer is of no use to me. I’d just want different heating schedules for either a work day or a rest day…….would any of these thermostats be able to accommodate this? (And if not is there a work around for people like me?)
@Heatable
@Heatable Год назад
This is probably a more common problem than expected. The current smart thermostats can be very smart when using certain features but they all program in a 7 day cycle. I'm afraid that the only option would be to set a 7 day cycle and then change it (this is pretty simple to do) and set your schedule up for the next week.
@aquanick2001
@aquanick2001 Год назад
@@Heatable shift work is very common these days paticularly for emergency services or healthcare professionals. The days of the 5 day working week with Saturdays and Sundays off is very dated. Basically it’s setup 5-2, could be fixed easily by software update to make it user definable to 4-4 or even 5-3. So the smart part of the thermostat wouldn’t even learn a shift pattern over time? Would be inconvenient to keep changing it every four days?

Can you guys recommend a good non wifi thermostat? I just want to change the temp in my house, I do not want anymore emf, apps, or any other smart devices. RF for wireless is sufficient. Cheers.

Hi William, we can recommend ESI - programmable room thermostat, EPH - programmable room thermostat and the Center - programmable room thermostat. They enable you to be able to control your heating without the need for smart technology, here are some links on how to set each of them up - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XICUbnDaUYU.html - ESI ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DWWezfAhQlo.html - ESP ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YoccWxLQims.html - Center We hope this helps!

Just came across this video as I am looking to buy one of these thermostats. After research, not really sure why Nest won. The product simply has not been developed since being purchased by Google. No TRV's, no ability to control room by room temperature, still relies on the Nest app, which is no longer being developed, and still has not been fully integrated into the Google Home app either! So you're basically left in limbo. Also no hot water control outside of the Nest app, and no Hot Water control via your voice either! So Alexa, Google cannot control hot water via voice and you cannot boost your hot water via these voice services. Also most people on Google forums appear to hate self learning, which is completely hit and miss. Tado can control and be controlled via Voice for both heating and Hot water via the App and from your voice within Google and Alex systems, which is hilarious because Googles own Nest thermostat cannot control Hot water at all through voice to their own google home app! Tado has full multi-zone and room-to-room control for multiple thermostats and TRV's. Tado is also Opentherm compatible.

I’ve been using this little hygrometer for about a week now ru-vid.comUgkxcr5WULFU6yC9UUKc_cdNJT9jGa6VxO1l and I’m loving it, got it for a ball python so I can track her temps accurately while she battles a RI, so temps and humidity need to be accurate. I love how it’s Bluetooth no matter where I am in the house, I plan on buying more for my other snakes when I can, I highly recommend this! It’s so easy to check it without disturbing her and stressing her out. Only complaint is it’s in military time but otherwise not horrible

Nest and Honeywell have OT. You can get OT with tado if the stat is wired to the boiler. If you want a wireless receiver you have to source an EU extension kit as Tado took it out of the UK version to save manufacturing costs as all the UK plumbers were wiring it for relay anyway. Hive does not support OT.

I've moved our house from Nest to Tado simply because Nest does not have smart radiators and multi zones capabilities to control different valves etc for underfloor heating. I hated the way Nest couldn't control my hot water through alexa and no way of temporarily disabling parts of the schedule while we're away. Apart from the Nest thermostat looking much better, far sight for quick glances and the heating schedules being accessible when no network connection, which leads me to the biggest issue with Tado, which I wish i knew about before buying. Tado has complete reliance on getting the heating schedule from the cloud, so if the internet goes down, you're left with either a cold house and no hot water or a very warm one and a huge bill because it doesnt know when to switch on and off. How stupid is that.
@Heatable
@Heatable 9 месяцев назад
Hey Brian! Yes Tado does have some great add on products including their smart radiator TRV's which allow you to control individual rooms. Even though your app won't be usable in an internet blackout, you should still be able to control it from the thermostat device?

Any time I see the Hive in a review of Smart thermostats it completely discredits the video. It’s not smart, it is utter shite, designed by British Gas to waste gas. Opentherm has been around for decades and yet Hive still uses a basic on off mechanism with no weather compensation. Why is it even in Rod video?

All of these 'smart' thermostats will soon be discontinued as they are not smart enough for the advancing future technology. Google has already announced the Nest will be discontinued, as it cannot support the next generation of smart home interoperability.
