Listen up all you Ditherers. This is important. If you are learning how to record WavyWayne is the place to go. I’ve been pouring over the internet for years and I can tell you from a point of wisdom that there are countless mixers, masterers and ditherers that have infinite knowledge of recording but there are very few teachers. Just because you know things doesn’t mean you have the ability to impeccably impart that knowledge to others. You have to be a teacher to do that. WavyWayne is that teacher. He just might be the top of the list of individuals who have the ability to give you his knowledge in a way that you can actually utilize it with minimum confusion. We all know that people are born with the ability to play a musical instrument. We all know that people are born with the ability to sing. In the same way teachers are born with this gift of teaching. WavyWayne has this gift outright. I’m not telling you to avoid other tutorials. I’m saying that if you want the best the internet has for free, awesome learning WavyWayne is the place to go. Picked up the JBLs used (no Bluetooth) for pretty cheap and it was worth it, they play a static sound though when nothing is coming through it, but when music is played the static sound goes away. For the price they’re amazing

Don't sleep on the IK Multimedia iLoud Micro's. You won't believe how good they sound until you're sitting in front of them...and even then it's hard to believe!

Had the Adam t5v and Yamaha hs5 but got some cheap Mackie´s mr624 and Wow they sound so much bigger with an open stage.. the messurements show a superflat Frequency but they sound really Hi-Fi, very impressed by Mackie.

Wayne, you said that you prefer mixing on five inch monitors. In my research, I’ve been told that smaller monitors do not produce proper low end. What is your opinion on this? The style of music I produce requires proper bass.

Snagged a pair of Yamaha HS8's for under $500 (a little over with tax) online from Alto Music in NY which was a steal. Always looking for those good refurbished deals. Also using them to appreciate the bass in the opening music of your videos. 👌🏼

I’ve always used headphones for my pc, some decent (i dont spend that much) speakers for my tv (kef q150). Now I’m thinking getting a pair for my pc, so, near field. Would monitors suit my needs? I don’t create music or anything, I do,play games. Would a monitor be ok for me? Maybe max 500 for a pair. Thinking tannoy gold 5 or something (I do have an audio interface)

I got the big hs8 right away, thought it was very good. Tomorrow the t8v arrive, hope they have enough depth and a sound that is at least as clear as possible

Yo “Wavy”. What up bruh. Quick question? So I’m getting ready to upgrade my mic. Rode NT1 or Rode NT1a? I have heard some mixed reviews. Some say the NT1 is more flat across the board providing a more accurate reference whereas the NT1a is brighter on the high end. I know you are pretty good with this kind of stuff so what you think?

Great video but, I love HS7s punchy, floorboard shaking bass, great high end, translate beautifully I’ll always love them - I just sent them back - in complete honesty, the Kali LP6’s rain ‘pro level status’ on them quite easily. - just the build quality is not amazing - LP6’s could easily sell for $1200 they are that good - I do get why you might put Yamaha’s at no1, I love em but they are not pro level - just a well very very balanced pair of monitors that translate well.

I've been doing a lot of looking up mixing in mono. I currently have a pair of bx8 graphite, and samson mediaone bt5. Could I buy a single high end(focal or adam audio) monitor and use it as a center channel and mix on that?

No mention of the limitation in directionality of ribbon tweeters? No mention of the down sides of 8" woofers? Not mentioning the Focal Alpha 65 is a bit sad. Thanks for not mentioning the KRKs though.

Have you ever listened to both the focal alpha 65 and the hs7? If so which ones do you prefer and why? What are the plus and cons of each?

@@gfbgamerpt171 I have not listened to the HS7, but I prefer the Alpha's for two reasons: - The Yamaha has a soft dome tweeter, which I am not a fan of. I really like the inverted metal dome tweeter Focal has - The Yamahas are back ported. I find front ported speakers a bit more convenient as placement is a bit more straight forward. The Focal Alphas are front ported.
