I'm a SLT local resident and I think its a great video, really showcases the highlights of activities and dining/drinking, as well as the natural beauty of the SLT area. The lake belongs to, and should be enjoyed by all Americans, so those that try to dictate how others get here, or not to come at all etc, I get the joke but I don't think that represents the Tahoe community. The SLT economy relies on tourism, without a strong tourism industry, the economy here would collapse, which translates into locals loosing their businesses, jobs and houses.
Thanks for tell us....I'll be there with my family as tourists. I'm feel sad for others comments. But we are respectful people and love be in the same way with others
Well, it could be if our city council would approve some more biz license ..We only have one medical shop as of 10-12-18 ....but, plenty of places to smoke unbothered...hey, it's Cali.. Welcome.
I watched them build the "black bear inn" of ski run for 12 years in a trailer for $225 a month in the 80's.. i could see the wind sock from the "face," good ol days in tahoe...
Loved the video! So much negative comments from the locals who live in Tahoe, crazy. Lol I live in a hot spot for tourists as well, but we're not unwelcoming like the people in these comments. It's like the hunger games, "Don't come to our district." lol GTFOH
Great video you really did a great job highlighting great areas of Tahoe! It is just an hour drive for me so I vist all the time but your video really shows how great it is to everyone else.
I felt that this should be put out into the open. The reason we don't want any more people coming here is because we are having traffic and housing problems. At the moment, there is a measure trying to be passed to limit the amount of vacation rentals that can be built and run in the city (SLT is split between the City of Lake Tahoe and County of Meyers) -- this is being done to open up more housing for long term rentals, generals lots, and push more of the large groups that come up here on the holidays into the hotels rather the Mcmansions scattered around the residential areas. You may not realize it, but the people who visit are often drunk, high, and obnoxiously loud. They make a mess, which they don't clean up because they have no care for anything-- they're on vacation! Anyone, in including you and me would act and feel the same way if we were to go anywhere else. The owners of these vacation rentals also don't immediately clean up the mess, or their employees don't arrive right after the visitors leave. Can you even begin to imagine how hectic these lots are? Frankly, I wouldn't like to be living next to that; many of the locals would like to see that moved into the party center of the city: Stateline. The passing of this measure will also mean that less tourists will have access to, well, housing, especially for long periods of time. That's great for traffic. We can get around more easily. As a high school student who also drives their younger sibling to the middle school, it will be nice to not have to deal with the lines and waiting in the morning, and potential for being late due to stupid drivers (drunk from partying) and people leaving the city. You're argument (referring to one of the comments) is ultimately invalid. If you want to come up here, you better be walking and living in a trash can.
it’s mostly because some tourists leave trash and litter that gets in our lake, blocks neighborhood using ‘shortcuts’, and causes a lot of noise problems when they use vacation rentals or air b&b I know not all tourists do this and our town needs the money but some people get a little salty after dealing with it for so long. sorry about that

p r e m i m u m R i c e i agree i live near south padre island in texas and its a pretty popular tourist attraction which just means our beaches get littered with trash and im sure its not just tourists.
I live only 17 miles away from Tahoe. I went there all my life so for me, lake tahoe is nothing. I've been everywhere. All around the lake. I mean it's beautiful but I'm just so used to it. You know?
Thanks for your videos Sarah! They're always really helpful. I've watched a ton of your videos on NY, and it was nice to see you cover Tahoe. And nevermind the cynical snowflakes in the comments. Most people here are really welcoming.
There are always tourists here, are you new? It's always busy, there's always construction, you can't move quickly.. What to do in Tahoe: Complain about Measure T. Dude, you hit up Red Hut before you went to the Camp Richardson Creamery?
Visits a place that's a heaven on earth for outdoor people: "my favorite thing is their in-house spa and they also have a hot tub on the property." lol :D
California wine is better than the other wines in the U.S.-- haha California supplies a vast majority of the wines in the U.S. 🤦♀️ goodness gracious. Was looking for things to do with my friend in Tahoe and honestly got nothing out of this video. Sorry to be so rude! Just no.
My opinion if my wife is foreigner if she likes to learn Vietnamese or not is ok. Because my self learn English anyway. Basically I learn it through my elder death . Just difficult read some words

HEAVENLY IS NOT A WORLD CLASS RESORT. ITS A SKI RESORT. MAMMOTH IS A WORLD CLASS RESORT. BAIL ON VAIL. IF YOU COME OR TRAVEL ANYWHERE, PICK UP WHAT YOU PACK IN......
I went to Lake Tahoe way back in 2000 - It was amazing - Would love to go back one day - Coming from England it can be very expensive - but I'm glad I've been
I live about 80 miles away from Tahoe I love it but it takes me a hour and 30 minutes to get there that shuttle kinda sucks but I’ve been to the black bear and it’s great you should definitely go to the thunderbird estate the man who owned it owned 40,000 acres of the Nevada side and you can ride his personal yacht powered by two airplane engines the boat is just beautiful
Tahoe is a beautiful place, and we'd like to keep it as such. We enjoy your money coming into the community, but there are a few things to address... Here are some tips for you visitors: -Carpool; Don't make our traffic and air any worse by with you and your buddies taking separate cars up here. Pack as many people in your car as you can fit. The fewer cars on the road, the shorter your Friday and Sunday drives to and from Tahoe will be. -Stick to the main roads and stop following your "Ways" app; We'd like to get through our own neighborhoods without having to wait in a line of tourist traffic for two hours trying to get home because of everyone taking the "shortcut" to echo summit. -Pick up your trash; You've come up to visit a place known for it's natural beauty, yet you leave your dirty diapers, dog poo bags, and other trash at the trailheads, campgrounds, parking lots, etc. When we find you, expect it returned to you in a less than pleasant manner. -Park in the driveway of the place you're staying; Your vehicle does not belong on the street, nor in our driveways. If it is in our driveways, or in front of our houses, expect them to be treated as our own "Tahoe beaters" -Pull over if you're having trouble driving or navigating; Instead of driving 5mph under the speed limit in the passing lane because you're unsure of where you're going, or afraid of the dark country roads, try pulling over and gathering your senses. -Be polite and respectful; Teat all as you would expect to be treated. You are a guest up here. The more discourteous people we encounter and the more inconvenience we endure, the lower our tolerance for you will become. -Turn down your music; You left the city to visit the mountains. Leave the noise and racket of the city back in the city. We don't need to hear that on our steets, and especially coming from your person while hiking the many trails. -LASTLY, this is not Las Vegas; If you expect to party and treat the area as such, PLEASE save up your pennies and go there instead.
@Henry Gonzalez Yes but if the Tourists destroy the beauty of the lake in the process then people will stop coming. Also you do not want to aggravate the locals, as they will work to make a lot of these enforceable by law and from what I have seen have already started to. Some have even called for a massive parking lot to be built in Sacramento or Placerville and then only have a buss up to Tahoe and banning all private vehicles from coming up to the Lake. While not many took this idea seriously, it just goes to show that inconsiderate people can cause a world of damage and ruin things for everyone. You see what is a "Tourist Destination" for some is ""Home" for many others, and they want there home treated well. They do not want people coming in and trashing there home and disrespecting them.
@Jon Frego No he can't. He can give tips, and he did. Keep up with that attitude though and your likely to find yourself paying fines or spending time in Jail.
that second one is sooooo important some days of the summer I can’t even pull out of my own driveway because the road is blocked with cars trying to take ‘shortcuts’ ;-;
Every thing looks good but can you please put some price listing …… I would hate to go and get on a boat / or restaurant only to find its stupidly priced.... i'm going this summer with my wife so prices and maybe where to park our car would be helpful. thanks in advance. I really really wanted to hire a jet ski ok $400 for few hours BUT for a passenger they wanted another $400 ! oh well no jet ski... what a rip off..
I go to SLT l the time, was there today. Missed you! You missed Beacon bar and grill on the west side. Live music on the beach. Great run runners. Come back. FYI, I love NYC, I was there in the spring. Thanks
My mom n brothers have lived in reno for 40 + years. I use to live there but now I live in Virginia. Been here since 2007. Tahoe was my hang out. My brother and his wife own a huge summer home in tahoe and a huge boat. Yacht. I mean. I love your video. Thanks for posting.

Hey Sara, I am so glad I found your channel. You are making me so excited to go to Lake Tahoe in April. I would've never known about these awesome sites! I went to Tahoe 10 years ago and didn't see much of it. Gotta stay out of those casinos in reno!! I absolutely love your other travel videos. Traveling is my passion!!
Hey SLT local here. As beautiful as Tahoe is, be prepared to be stuck in traffic for at least 30mins or more if your heading up from the city. During the winter season be prepared as the drive up is not an easy one. Snow tire or chains so you don't hold up traffic!!
Is it so pretty that it will help with seasonal affective disorder? Even in winter? I have SAD really bad but have only been there in summer. Does no humidity make it feel less cold in winter??
