While I agree with you that mistakes are made, some mistakes are one strike and you're out. Unfortunately, that's how it goes in broadcasting and this era. I will miss his commentary too.
Brennaman is just like Verne Lundquist, Don Criqui or Charlie Jones - guys who were always #2 announcers at a network but seemed to always be Johnny on the spot for the big historic and classic moments that happened in various sports, a lot of times moreso than the guys who were the #1 announcers at their networks.
Verne Lundquist was one of the best! Not sure if he's still working but at least Adam Sandler recognized his greatness by giving him a nice role in Happy Gilmore.

I have said the word "fag", when reading it or something for example if I was reading these comments out loud id be saying the word I should mention English isnt my mother tongue so for me that word really only comes up online in these situations

Thom Brennaman is a good play by play announcer for Baseball but not for Football. He calls football games as if he's announcing a baseball game. He pauses too much and he calls the game as if he's the analyst instead of the play by play announcer.
How would you rank the Fox play by play announcers? Here they are (by alphabetic surname order): Kenny Albert, Thom Brennaman, Joe Buck, Kevin Buckhardt, Chris Myers and Dick Stockton. My order is 1- Thom Brennaman 2- Kenny Albert 2-Dick Stockton (I have to give these two a tie) 4-Kevin Buckhardt 5- Joe Buck 6- Chris Meyers (I would have rated Chris higher if he would not make so many non-on topic commentaries during the game.
Also missed my personal favorite/one I remember the most as a Tigers fan....the Magglio Ordonez's walk off homer to clinch the AL Pennant against the A's in 06.
