@@tyler_bt3326 literally. The realism in the first three movies, especially the first one was insane. After that it got way too cartoonish with the CGI
@@TheEnderTaz25 thats because before they mixed practical and special affects. for example when a bus gets cut in half in the first movie they really cut a real bus in half
@@spaghettiupseti9990 not to mention most of the deceptions were military vehicles and auto bots were real vehicles too. It was an easy reference for the eyes when we had to look at the body autonomy of the transformers. Like you can see the tires, glass, engines, etc. In later movies, especially after the third, the design is more artistic. Like the evil Lamborghini transformer. Once he gets out of Lamborghini form, we can’t discern what his parts are. It’s very cluttered. At least, in the others there was a simple flow of design even if it look cluttered and messy. And God those Transformations were so cool to look at and hear. Now it’s nanobots, because of course it is.
@@ashishhembrom3905 True, same how sleek everything looked, I get it by the KSI stuff but Optimus and the Samurai where too much for me. New Megatron and Barricade too (engraved knuckle rings? C'mon?!), for me Megatron looked always menacing because of his more raw cybertronian look but there he looked like a human in a sleek armor. But they aswell showed less and less transformation with parts more like right away switching modes that not looked making "sense" unlike 1-3 Bots. Also disliked how humanoid they got resulting in somewhat kind of clothing(coats, helmets, beards), faces, some smoking, using ammo/regular weapons lookalikes like a shotgun or then just use metal melee weapons..not to mention the mess of personality of Decepticons in the 5th..
Bay didnt do shit in terms of cgi or any of the transformatiom animation work. You people are such idiots thibking the director somehow is in control of how the cgi turns out lmaooo
Blackout's transformation is my number one scene. Actually, his whole first appearance is my number one scene. It just completely set the original tone for the movies and the Decepticons. Having what seems to be a normal helicopter suddenly transform (with the old sound effect), completely ignoring everyone shooting at it, tearing apart the base until the number of survivors are in the single digits... Just amazing.
I was 10 years old when that movie came out, and my only knowledge of the franchise was a very vague memory of Armada from when I was even younger, and Energon wich was running on the kids channel every morning that summer I liked it, but that scene alone made me hyperfocus on transformers for the next 5 years
Blackout’s helicopter blades suddenly stopping before his transformation will always be top tier. Edit: Just to sum it up for you guys, I saw it opening day with my pops and was skeptical as to what the cgi would look like and when those freakin blades stopped me and my pops said “oh shit” at the same time lol. Even everything leading up to that moment (the suspense of the pilot not communicating) made that one of the coolest scenes ever.
Do you remember the feeling ? You are in the theather and, all of nowhere, you understand there is something very wrong with that chopper and, suddenly, he TRANSFORMS ! Like in the cartoons, but even better...the first transformation. Gosh, that scene gave me the chills... And, then, came the rest of the Bayverse and the magic was gone.
4:51 I love how the one orders, "Hold your fire..." and then mere seconds later they all start shooting without a word as if they all collectively thought 'fuck this, I've seen enough.'
Optimus’ arm reaching out 3:00 and then punching the ground was pretty slick too. Gets the audience involved with him reaching toward the camera which I think is a nice touch
It’s been a long, long time since the first movie came out and my goodness, does the CGI still look amazing after 15 years. It was absolutely groundbreaking back in 2007, and it still holds up perfectly. Mad respect to the CGI team and ILM for these scenes, cuz they are such a spectacle to watch.
@@bongumusangcobo4474the sounds in most the movies are amazing but especially the first 3. Those sounds are the reason I learned to beatbox pretty good, cause I got good at mimicking the transforming sounds with my mouth when I was a little kid. No cap on that either, it’s all due to this movie.
05:20 I like how you can just tell that’s a Decipticon transforming. You can just tell how uncomfortable and agonizing it sounds hearing the metal smack against itself as he transforms then he just starts yelling in anger
I always thought it was like "Welp, I can't send a 'crew' out for them to see, so... Cover blown! Time for Plan B: Kill every organic in a 5 km radius."
So true, too bad he fires like noob and that gun were akin to that of Front Mission Evolved Wanzer's SMG level, not cool compared to how he came and goes
One of my favorites is from the Bumblebee movie, when Shatter and Dropkick transform from their aerial modes into their car modes, then right into their robot modes. That sequence was way too clean
The first film from 2007 still really holds up. I actually think the last few movies (in addition to just being bad films, with the exception of Bumblebee which was great), went too far with the sort of “nano-technology” of the transformations where every character is a shapeshifter, instead of the vehicle form having a bearing on how they change. In the first 3 movies they actually looked realistic, which is what blew people away.
@@jacobpainter1962 I agree, but after the Mark Walberg ones, my standards were low by the time that one came out. :) Besides, I liked that Optimus looked like his animated G1 version instead of the one that turns into the Peterbilt style truck in the previous films….
@@mihaelbosnjak4647 And missiles from jets. That just shows how powerful the Decepticons were in the first movie. It took all that to bring Blackout down.
Fun fact: Devastator was a devastator for the animators. Apparently one of the lead animators, Shawn Kelly, said that when they first tried to render in Devastator, a computer actually caught fire due to just how much it had to process
#1 is the best scene for all Transformers movies, maybe one of the best in the franchise across all media. The movies may get better way better overall, but as far as individual scenes go, the Arrival to Earth will always be the GOAT.
Well, the series is more of a gladiator showcase than a complex story, so to me, narrative takes a backseat, so that we can see metal titans smash each other to bits. And the absolute behemoth devastator is makes for a very formidable opponent. Shame that he was defeated cheaply by a ship, would’ve made more sense for prime merged with jetfire to take him down.
I cant forget the visual impact that the first TRANSFORMERS movie showed in 2007. Though the next series of movies didnt get good critics, Michael Bay still brought a classic icon of memories.
Megatron first transformation where he does a backflip inside the hover dam is highly slept on. Pluse Starscream is the coolest mf period. When he makes those high pitched sounds while he’s transforming. Cmon now.
Yes! His inside the tunnel flip and turn around and then flies through a small ass tunnel is insane. One of my favs. And his transformation after killing Jazz
What I love about Transformers is how they aren’t robots, they are aliens that have the capabilities to transform into vehicles and now with Rise of the Beasts, they are introducing Maximals, Predacons and Terracons which are basically animals and dinosaurs. Love how much work and detail goes into their transformations
La primera vez que se armó Blackout fue hermoso y escuchar el golpe en silencio, y más aún con Bonecrusher transformándose y deslizándose en la calle es épico
_The most memorable for me __4:23__ (10) - The most amazing (2) - When he jumps up he becomes an F15 fighter and takes off in free flight - There's no better scene - __8:28_
Starsceam, Lord of the Seekers. Definitely the most bad ass one, comes in at Mach speed, transforms and lays down a quick beating and takes off before you even know it. Black out scene is goated as well, however my favorite is when star scream takes down the other jets, transforming in air back and forth
Bonecrusher and Blackouts transformations were my favorite childhood transformers moments. They never get old. Those scenes still remain my favorites from these movies
@@Lu1zF3l1pe how on earth do they even animate these transformations?! Especially the ones where they transform mid momentum, still keep that momentum in their newly transformed state, and still have it all flowing so perfectly. Those transformations look the best in my opinion. But DAMN with so many hundreds of moving parts. How on earth does one even begin to animate such a thing? Talk about an animators nightmare. Where do they even start?! Regardless, im thankfull as fuck for the animators unbelievable skills. Cos this is such a visual treat its unreal.
In my opinion, number 10 should be number one. I will never forget the first transformation we saw. The chopper coming in, the hologram, the transformation, then the sound effects of the emp waves and guns. Sorry but i just cant understand why that one is below so many bad ones.
This is the one that I immediately think of as number 1. Seeing the first one for the first time as a child, I remember being in the theater with my brothers and dad and just seeing this, the feeling was unreal - and from a CG standpoint this was just incredible. I still smile seeing it.
After watching the video, i saw a transformation missing, optimus transforming in mission city… that makes me think, how about making a poll with all the movie transformations and let the fans choose ;)
The best scene is this entire franchise is and always will be when the Autobots first arrive on Earth. The music, sound design, visuals all work together in perfect harmony. The cybertron sequence from Bumblebee is a close second.
The amount of work and detail that went into the first 3 movies transformations is amazing. So many moving parts and so much attention to detail not to mention every Transformer has their own signature transforming sound effect like you could tell who was transforming just by the sound alone. The last 2 Bayformers, the Bumblebee movie and Rise of the Beasts dont pay as much attention to the little details which bugs me a little, well a lot actually. They reuse a lot of sound effects for new characters, reuse character models and even reuse transforming animation.
totally agree with #1, that whole scene, the autobots arrival from space, their taking earth vehicle forms, coming to Sam and Mikaela and transforming always gives me chills
9:33 I remember having the toy of Rachet when I was younger and even the toy transformed with his chest rotating exactly like it did in the movie as the final part of his transformation!
Ironhide saying Optimus Prime was pissed, and then seeing the steam or smoke whatever coming out of exhausts was a nice touch to the cartoonish steam out for anger. Subtle detail there is awesome
I think what i miss about the bayformers are the transformation shots and the sound design ( it has a wow factor to it) , the bumblebee movie and the upcoming Rise of the beast movie is great but they lack some of those extra topings
