The NordicTrack 1750 Treadmill is the model that we recommend to most. It folds up, has a quiet 3.5 CHP motor, inclines up to 15% and declines to -3%, plus gives you the option to use iFit on the 14” touch screen. This model of the 1750 has a 22” x 60” running surface and soft cushioning.
For a treadmill that doesn’t require a subscription, check out the Sole F80. The F80 is a hop-on-and-go machine but its high 350 lb weight capacity and large 22” x 60” running surface make it appropriate for most users. It also comes with included streaming apps like Netflix. The F85 is also a great bump-up option.
Our pick for the best treadmill overall is the NordicTrack X32i Incline Trainer. This treadmill is very impressive with a 40% incline and -6% decline range. The X32i is extremely comfortable and it has a massive 32” touch screen that displays iFit to give you thousands of trainer-led workouts to follow along with. Check out its sister machine the NordicTrack X22i Incline Trainer if you want a slightly smaller and more affordable alternative.
The Horizon T101 Treadmill is an entry-level model that we love for walking primarily, however, if you have a short running stride, jogging and even running are possible on the 20” x 55” belt. It’s priced well under $1000, but the overall quality is comparable to models priced hundreds of dollars more.
The ProForm Pro 9000 has a 22” touchscreen that’s enabled with iFit. It’s foldable and features a 20” x 60” long running surface to give you plenty of room to run, and it has a powerful 3.6 CHP motor. Another great option from ProForm is the Pro 2000. It has a smaller screen and is less powerful, but a little more friendly on your wallet.
The Bowflex Treadmill 22 is a heavy-duty folding treadmill. It inclines up to 20% and declines to -5%. There’s plenty of room on the 22” x 60” long deck with the 4.0 motor. The 22” touch screen is easy to see and features JRNY to offer a variety of training content such as trainer-led classes, outdoor-filmed workouts, and even streaming from Netflix, Hulu, and HBO Max.
The Horizon 7.0 AT is an affordable running treadmill at just under $1000. The 7.0 handles light to moderate use. For heavy use, like training for a marathon or high-intensity workouts, the 7.8 AT is the treadmill to go with. It’s the beefed-up version of the 7.0, plus it comes with the Sprint 8 training program for interval training workouts.
The NordicTrack 2450 has been updated. It includes a large 22” highly adjustable touchscreen that’s iFit-enabled, as well as a 3.6 CHP capable of handling heavy training. We love this treadmill for running because it’s interactive and powerful, with comfortable cushioning underfoot.
The Sole F63 is an entry-level model from the brand that is the best treadmill under $1500 on this list. We love that it includes the high-quality construction of Sole treadmills while being available at a nice price point. The 3.0 HP motor, 20” x 60” belt, and easy-to-use console make this a great pick for light to moderate running.

bought my bowflex recently, and as someone who loves to run outside and at long distances, it's perfect. I don't even care about the netflex or other watching options, lol, i cant run and watch stuff, I like my mind to go on auto pilot and zone out on my breathing. This thing is built like an absolute tank and nice and firm, so if youre a conditioned runner I highly reccomend it.

@@TreadmillReviewGuru yes I did get the newer version, as I have a garmin watch, and it connects easily to it, which was important to me, as someone trying to lose weight. The fan is almost useless for me, I don’t feel it much at all. And at my weight, 252, I definitely get a little bounce or shake going, but I’m heavy and it’s to be expected at the price point, it doesn’t bother me. The warranty is what really made me pick it.

I would love to see a comparison between the Sole F85 and the NordicTrack 2450 with the updated 2023 treadmills. I am looking for a treadmill which will allow me to train for marathons and eventually ultras. I would think the F85 would be a better option for a user like me since it's a.) several hundred dollars cheaper, b.) has better overall warranty, and c.) the motor is a 4.0 HP vs. the 3.6 CHP from the 2450. Thank you!
@TreadmillReviewGuru

Thanks for the suggestion! That would be a great comparison, we'll see if we can get that video on our content calendar here soon. Both treadmills would be great for marathon training but you are correct with those 3 points. The F85 has a firmer deck as well so it might be closer to what running a marathon or ultra might be like. One plus for the Nordictrack would be softer cushioning for those "recovery" type runs and also using the Google maps feature to map out your course. We'll try to get that comparison filmed soon, let us know if there are any other specifics you'd like to see in that comparison.

I have a 15 year old Sole treadmill that I run on almost every day. I’ve never had an issue with it - ever! I want to upgrade and get the NordicTrack but the reviews are mixed. Thank you so much for this. As an almost authoritative voice of Treadmills on RU-vid, would you be able to comment on the issue of Nordic's and ProForm's treadmills being bricked after firmware updates? I understand there is a class action lawsuits? Your take on the matter would be greatly appreciated as one looking to purchase. Do you still recommend 1750, 2450, X32s and PF9000 despite the possible bricking issue or is that blown out of proportions? Thank you in advance.

We've found both to be really reliable and durable. I think it just depends on if you'd like a larger screen then the Pro 9000 is the way to go or if you want a little softer cushioning, the 1750 is the one to go with. I personally prefer the 1750 a little more for the layout, deck cushion, motor, and reliability, but both are great models.

Peleton just wasn't good for me. When I had it I hated how the screen just shook like no tomorrow (older model). No matter what I did, it would just shake. The problem was it was all connected as one piece, so when you incline the whole screen and everything inclines. This one looks like a newer model, so not sure how this one is, but the other one with the 32 inch screen was the one I hated. I am glad I was able to get a full refund when they decided to let people return their treads because of the what happen unfortunately with a few kids. I ended up getting a X32-I and can't be more happier. The cushion on it was by far better than Pels (the older model). Pels is for people that want to feel like they are running on sidewalk/street. If you have bad knees you do not want that thread (not even sure if they sell that model anymore). Also the classes outside is just top notch with Track. Pels their outside classes (I have no clue if they changed it around since I had it over a year ago) would skip around. So like instead of walking a set course with the trainer, the screen would be at one place then would be at another place a couple of minutes down the road. I didn't like that at all. I like when it's one continuous walk. Now the peleton interactive screen is a lot better than Tracks. I do miss that. Also miss the knobs that let you go up and down and faster or slower. However those are really the only 2 things I miss. Their in studio classes seem to be better than NordicTracks also but I did not do that, that much.

I have a 20 year old Proform 545S which has a 2.0hp motor that I bought to walk on but now my teenage son runs 3 miles usually at top speed (10mph) when he's not playing soccer and my daughter walks and runs on it - they are both in 150/160lb range. It has a really small belt compared to what I saw here (20 by 60 is the minimum today) - I measured it at 18.5 by 50 which has never been replaced. On paper, it looks ultra-bad (I found a review that was pretty critical and said "So many times, people buy treadmills for all the wrong reasons. This treadmill gives you those wrong reasons."😄 Ouch!) but they seem to be fine with it. I do find some of the prices for these treadmills pretty high (they seem to cost $2,000 or so) but we do spend a lot of money on training and it would be justifiable especially if we use it for 20 years. Should I replace it? Should I at least have it serviced? Is that even worth it?

Any treadmill with the belt width of less than 22" is not a good treadmill. That's half the list.

How come?

Three reasons: safety, running form and comfort. Narrow belts restrict movement and have a smaller margin of error - injury waiting to happen. Running on the 20" belts promotes poor running form and distort runner's stride. Lastly, doing long workouts on the narrow belts is just dangerous - accelerated fatigue, discomfort, joint aches, and just miserable. If you own a dog that needs exercise, buy a treadmill with 20" belt. If you want to walk, jog or run - 22" belt is a minimum. @@TreadmillReviewGuru

Thanks for responding, genuinely wanted to get your thoughts on this. What are your thoughts on manual treadmills that only have an 18 inch wide belt?

The manufacturers can build you a treadmill with any belt width, manual or motorized, with all the bells and whistles. Just because it's sold and marketed to consumers as the next best thing, it doesn't neccessarily mean it's a good ergonomic product. I mean that's why you have this channel - to educate consumers and weed out the good from the bad. No?@@TreadmillReviewGuru

By this reasoning a belt width of 24” would be better. Or better yet, 40 or 80 inches.

7 minutes into the video and still no treadmills 😳

I think if manufacturers lose the electronics and focus on minimizing space with intense workout durability for the average urban that does workout w/o much space, they would sellout. Shoutouts to Echelon stride and a few others.
