Other way to get slices to drum rack: Open your track in Simpler, select the option to set your slices by "manual" vs "transient" (transient is default). Manually click in your slices. After you're done slicing, right click on the wave form and then select "Slices to Drum Rack".
You can simply zoom the sample and find the zeropointcrossing and save time. Also, if you hit the arrow in the drum rack, you can zoom the sample section. Now this is a dope tutorial. I know how to use the simpler but this is doper 😈
I still think simpler is king…especially if you use the warp markers to get your sample in time. For my workflow this wouldn’t work but for someone else it just might. Enjoying the content tho
Is there a knob to move a slice from left to right around the sample once you set the slice lenght? I would like to know how to do that and map it to a knob on my controller.
Yes you would. Would be easier to make a Slicing preset so you can map certain global macros like transpose so it would apply to all chops in the drum rack. Or just use the manual mode in simpler, and select your specific chops and then you only need to use the transpose in simpler
