A quick and easy way to tie your drop shot rig to increase your hookups on bass! This knot will lock your hook in place, upright so that your hook set is exactly where it needs to be every time.
That is the slickest way ever to tie a drop shot hook. I always did the Palomar and then loop back through but this is way easier and holds hook out nicer. Thanks for sharing!
100% agreed on the part where you clinch knot once, at first I was like once? So I’ll lose it but then your right if it gets caught up between rocks or laydowns enough force should pull it out and give back my hook and lure! Simple step by step and effective and multifunctional. Very nice video. Stamp Summer 2024
already have caught a 30# Blue Cat off of these (going to try to get a 60#+ next year). ru-vid.comUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 Definitely very strong, and sharp. Additionally, the gap is wide enough to actually hook a fish (not always the case with circle hooks). I purchased the 8/0, but probably should have got the 9/0 (they seem slightly smaller than other 8/0 hooks). Additionally, having the point in-line helps if you drift fish. I have yet to get a serious snag with one of these hooks.
Out of the gozilllion videos I've watched on how to tie the drop shot this is by far the slickest easiest smartest way to do it....in my humble opinion. Thanks a lot.
Good point about the overhand. When you mentioned it I was initially skeptical, preferring a trilene. But makes sense. Kind of an old timer trick your uncle might impart to you. Much appreciated tutorial. Thanks.
Probly one of the most clear, straight forward vids. I appreciate that a ton. Nice work. Fished my whole life, but basics like this are what matter most. Great video!
@@tysonstightlines3082 that's awesome. I've been scouring YT for tips on fishing fast river current. I bank fish as I live close to st. Joseph river and dont have a boat at moment, but get defeated most of the time due to current . Any tips , advice , rigs . I apologize if you covered it already, have yet to get thru your channel!
I just got into bass fishing a couple of months ago so Im trying to learn all of the good techniques and styles of baits to use. This video was very helpful.
A fellow angler dropped this vid for me after he saw me struck out with no fish at the river spot. I tried this on and got myself 3 different fish the next outing! Very nice and easy to learn!
Great video. You actually went step by step. Some of us new anglers, out on our 1st kayak. While I troll, I can sit back and rig up. Other people assume we know the 100's of knots out there. A+..🤟🙏🎣
What a cool way to tie a drop shot! Can't wait to test it on Lake Washington for smallies. Not too many of us Tyson's (first name). Keep up the good work dude!
There’s no way I just did this perfectly my first try after a long time…. I’m wowed! Thank you brother bout to watch your whole page I’m going large mouth striper and catfishing Saturday
Thanks for sharing this video, I’ve also learned a new knot which is much easier than using the Palomar knot. I’m also a new subscriber today, thank you!
Let me Just say!!! I have tried the polomar knot on the drop shot and have hooked up on fish. This know is way more simple and faster than worrying about running a tag through the eye. I used this knot and it has had a better hookset for me. The main reason I like this knot as well is in tournament fishing it doesn't take long to tie at all.
Freakn awesome!.. I hope this can hold a quick heavy hook set specially for our big pikes here in Canada... where ever we have bass, we have stupid pikes waiting to ruin your whole rig.... thank u for sharing your wisdom. Cheers
