Airhead: It’s rare but happens especially with experienced aviators who have too much pride to read back the entire clearance (which, would have revealed a misheard clearance if done) in my experience it’s fairly easy to mishear or misinterpret a quickly rattled off clearance

I always thought Mad Max was set during the last stages of worldwide societal breakdown with no more effective central governments and maybe nothing new being manufactured, hence the wait while they cobbled together Max's black Interceptor. It felt like the tipping point just before the drop off to the world of The Road Warrior - a slowpocalypse if you will.

1:31:00 -- as long as they're not crazy-long, I really like using the intros to shows to kinda decompress into the mindset for the episode. If i'm stacking a few back to back then sure, skip away. But if it's week to week i'll always watch em.

I’m just going to throw in marons new stand up on Netflix. Toward the end he spins a yarn that depicts the end of the world, and it’s pretty messed up. I highly recommend it.

The "disaster" in The Wandering Earth is just the prelude of the movie, it actually is more of a soft sci-fi. It's easier to digest if you go into it knowing that.

I won’t even lie... I absolutely adore the movie Sunshine. And can’t help but agree completely with it being worth at least a watch if you like some gritty sci-fi. 3rd act is a bit strange... but the movie as a whole is fantastic with every re-watch.

I've been wanting you guys to do cheezy 80s third rate adventure/apocalypse movies for a while. Like "Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn" or "Hawk the Slayer" or "Space Hunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone" or "Megaforce: Deeds Not Words" or "Exterminators" where this is this guy named 'Mandroid' who has tank treads for feet. WTF?! There were SO MANY of these cut rate adventure movies filmed in abandoned parking garages. Where do I send this request to get your attention?

They were flying Earth towards Jupiter so they could use it for a gravity assist. Doing so would give a pretty big speed boost for free and shorten the travel time by centuries.

Threads is somewhat worse than The Road, but both are very depressing. The Road is more like The Book of Eli. Most people die in threads, 200 megatons is dropped on the UK, the dead are the lucky ones. If you do survive then you only live for 10 years anyway. Siberian winter weather for a decade.
