I got the FS-I6S as my first transmitter. Love it for Sims with the USB port. It has touch screen and model memory. Oh and it’s cheap AF. I got it as the center stick model so had to convert it using the included spare parts. Took me 10min all in all.

after playing the sim for about a month i ordered this and got it today. i set it up , crashed it in the apartment two or three times and first the propeller cover cracked , then the little stick that attaches the propeller to the cover came loose. this thing is really cheap although it flew pretty nice for the little while it held up. i dont recommend this for indoors or anywhere thats not grass and has no crashing dangers. atleast for a beginner. you would think they would make something really durable knowing a rookie is going to be hitting ceilings and crashing walls like a beast. other than that the headset worked way better than i thought and the remote was nice as well. im going to try crazy gluing everything back into place and hope it works :) lol.

The controlled itself is available with frsky protocoll too, and OpenTx you can bind to all d8 d16 d16lbt. Then get the a meteor 65 1s bt2.0 brushless, and the cheap goggle. That's what they should sell in this set. And that's actually worth every penny. Also think beginner kits should come pre bound and set-up. +Low rates.😉

Betafpv Meteor65 acro 1s/turanis acct qx7/best goggles u can afford. Thats the way to start if u have plans to keep moving forward. Doing 150+ batts thru the meteor was what made me able to fly a 5” and not crash out of my sessions. Good review, bardwells opinion is always on point.

I own one of these kits. I can post some pretty crappy DVR footage if y'all wanna see it outside on a day with wind. It's honestly been pretty nice. You can enter the OSD and change PIDS and rates. I've managed to learn in acro from the start.

@@arekporong_08 Have you figured out the switches for different modes? I found that there are two acro modes. A high and a low. The low should be both right hand switches all the way down with top left switch in middle position. As for PIDS I recommend leaving them be unless you want to swap to props out config. However, rates can be dropped pretty easily. Hold the left stick in the middle and move the left stick to far left and the right stick up. When it pulls up the menu scroll down to rates with the right stick then flick right. Now write down all the stock numbers and then drop them 50-100. You can definitely leave yaw alone though that will help you turn well, while not wobbling trying to keep it semi flat as you fly. I also recommend you take it outside to start. Being able to just take off and have plenty of room to stabilize is best. If you're really struggling try level mod but, struggling through the acro learning curve will be good in the long run. Flying level after acro is pretty easy. Fly acro after level not so much

This is 3 weeks back before I swapped my frame and props so it was kinda bent but, I've got 17000kv motors in mine, 3 blade props, and a fresh frame now and it runs great. Anyone who sees this AKK makes some 75mm brass antennas that are awesome for these and my newer fpv footage is a little clearer. I'll post more eventually.

honestly I loved mine until I finally got a Jumper T16 a week or so ago. Like you really begin to realize the quality difference. now I go back to the Flysky and it's like... not even close

My main complaint is how overly complicated Opentx is for the average user. Granted you can't compare a FlySky I6 radio to a Jumper T16 however you have to love how simple the user interface is.

I love betafpv but I went thru 3 literadio 2 before I got one that didn't have a 20 range on center. Dead center was 20. If I roll right return to center would go to 1519 . Roll left return to center it return to 1492.. third one finally just had 8 range on center..

The information was good I have just bought this kit still working on first fpv flight I have the other types of photo drones if you will and i wanted to check out the racing drone side of things. I am a super newbie and I purchased like 12 drones now getting into the hobby (my covid hobby now). I am now subscribing to your channel not because it was so informative (and I did find it to be that) but the cute kid at the end sold me .

Hello, I just met a new pilot to fly with he spent 60hrs on a sim, it was his 6th! Time out flying his 2* 5” quads and WOW 😮 he was awesome now I’m using my sim and get better after each 30 min session... People FLY A SIMULATOR as well or first. Cheers

Great suggestion, thanks for the great video, it made my decision to get into FPV, loved all the kit, besides the remote. I just want to leave a warning to other buyers seeing this, if possible please avoid the new SE version as it comes with the SE version of this radio. Besides being more expensive It is not as good as the “normal” one, the student port is disabled, it doesn’t have OpenTx, and there is no software to adjust axis like for throttle limiting. And in my case the gimbal stopped working after 10hours of use.

To be honest, Joshua, I started with a brushed micro quad and I really don't regret it. But I build it myself! So it was cheap, I crashed a lot, but never broke anything. So... I would definitely recommend starting with a brushed micro. 😊 The kit is nice... Would be nicer if the radio was D8 compatible, but... Not bad. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Happy with the tinyhawk kits you recommend 👍.very durable compared to my beta fpv quads wich seem to not handle crashes as well IMO. but all these cheap goggles are a terrible fit . ✌ kinda a shame if they fit better more people would use them for something other than bench work 👍

So I fly DJI stuff, cinewhoops and 5", but I recently picked up the lite radio, goggles, and a tinyhawk ii and it was definitely one of the best purchases I could have done. A little more setup, but its perfect for flying indoors and getting my family into flying! edit: I also tried out the 5 blade prop that you mentioned on your last video in a flywoo chasers frame and honestly it doesn't have that much of an improvement. It might be interesting to see a video comparison on as many cinewhoo props that you can get your hands on, and seeing which one performs the quietest? I absolutely can't use racing 3" props indoors because I would have to give actors noise cancelling headphones for them not to have actual hearing damage lol. My best experience so far has been with lower pitch HQ cinewhoop props.

Silverware has multiple ways to link to a PC. An st link is the go to option, but the betafpv boards include a USB port that is useable with silverware after a quick firmware update. Silverware has a huge community behind it.

The advanced rtf starter kit is a better way to go, even with the extra cost. It moves you up to a 75mm brushless quad with much better performance.

JB the one to get, which I think tops the choice is the "Advanced Racing Kit 2" with the Meteor75 Lite included. Sure it's $199USD... The "Starter Kit" is more designed to undercut the Emax kit for the noob with absolutely no exposure.. I'd buy the Starter kit for a child at Christmas, wouldn't necessarily buy the Advanced kit.

The goggles look to be the same layout as my Makerfire goggles I got a couple years ago, only in white. I had the same issue with the nose and fixed it with duct tape.

But since its my first fpv I.m having too much broken signal when flying and I like to know if there is an antenna upgrate or something for the BetaFPV VR01 googles that came wih the kit and a Meteor 75 Lite quad??

Tell ya what. This woulda been a good starter for me back in the day. I did the cell phone FPV thing with the 2.4 Ghz live camera feed from the toy grade camera multirotor for learning FPV Spatial awareness. In hindsight that was a BIG mistake because of the video feed latency was up to 1 second, and I trained my reflexes to that. Well over a year or two later to this day flying the realtime FPV hobby grades I am having to consciously retrain my muscle memory reflexes because of those "first days" learning experiences over compensating obstacle avoidances. I'm still having fun though but I believe for the price of this product as thoughtfully considered (compared to what I started with) in this video I would recommend this to my friends whom would wish to occasionally dabble in the Epicness that is FreeStyle MultiRotor FPV ..... Just saying.

Bought the Advanced Kit V2 to play with whilst your Xilo Kit comes back into stock at Getfpv (The wait is killing me) It's alright, the brushless version seems better, along with the Lite2 being more compatible for future ventures. However the ONLY gripe I have with the goggles is the range - it's shocking! My Eachines perform so much better (almost 3x further)

Hi JB... Posting for my brother... He bought this quad V3 which has Frsky SPI receiver. He could bind the radio master T8 Lite to the quad and can enter into OSD menu... But when he tried to arm with channel 5 or other channels the quad is not arming.. I am lost on what is the cause as this quad doesn't give any arming status flag .. what do you think could be the issue? btw we caliberated the radio multiple times but still no luck.

The beta65 lite is hands down the best brushed whoop on the market, bar none. It's right out of the bat one of the cheapest 65mm brushed whoops. The build quality is excellent, and it has the powerful 7mm motors which really haul butt. The frame is also unbreakable. I flew my beta65 lite for two hours a day, four days a week, for a year before the motors finally wore out. And by then, I had crashed it a few thousand times... with nothing worse to show for it other than a cracked canopy. ... The bayang protocol is really a wonderful protocol. It's lower latency than frsky, so a whoop racer would really benefit. The silverware flight control software is in my opinion vastly superior to even a tuned version of betaflight. And when you add NotFastEnuff silverware, this thing really screams. The camera is great too. I really think the beta65 lite is the pinnacle of brushed whoops. I would get one, and a jumper t12 or t16 to control it. Trust me you won't regret it! EDITEDITEDIT You are incorrect JB, you can and absolutely should plug it into your computer.

No you can't. Those motors have different type of powering and controlling therefore different flight controllers are used.

So I won a EMAX ex pilot giveaway and the drone just came in today. This is my first fpv drone. I was a little bummed out cus it doesn't have acro mode but I love it eitherway as a begginer drone. Probably a better audience for anybody under 15, but it is still an awesome drone.

Hi, joshua I'm thinking about building tyro 79 and replacing its camera with runcam split 3mini, do i have to buy receiver for the runcam or the included one will manage? I'm thinking i will buy that light radio 2 from beta fpv since i'm on a tight budget. What do you think about this configuration?

Hey Bart, I'd not recommend putting in a split if you're not experienced, because there isn't really any space for it in the tyro 79. Also personally I don't like split cameras as the fpv feed is worse and has more latency than a normal fpv camera.

Hey joshua i only have one question does the controller on the starter kit supports bayang as well as frsky? Im confused cause on their webpage you can choose which protocol you want to buy the controller.... and the advanced kit has the frsky controller which ultimately is better, which means that if the starter kit controller only supports bayang is future garbage.

There are two versions of the LiteRadio -- one with Bayang and one with FrSky. The $129 starter kit is Bayang radio.

Depends a lot on what I'm flying. Unify or Rush at 800 mW no problem.

It's a hard choice to make, invest a bit more, get better quad. If you don't like fpv flying after all, being out less money is better. But if you do like it, you'll wish you got something better. I learned on a tinyhawk2, love the quad, but not the gogs and radio. You can use the goggles as loaners though so that's ok, but the radio will never be used again once you upgrade which seems like a shame. Dunno where I was trying to go with this except choosing is hard

i started with the literadio 2, been loving it for sure. I feel like your analysis of whether or not to buy it seperately was pretty bad; you seemed to forget there was a regular version, not the bayoung or w/e, which you can use with many quads.

The fact that the FrSky version of the radio exists doesn't matter since it's not a part of the kit that is being reviewed in the video. If I were doing a separate review of the literadio then it'd be different.

saw this and thought, yep, I'll give it a go. so I ordered one through JB's link from BetaFPV. that was a week ago now. So far nothing from BetaFPV except an order confirmation. No ship date, no reply to emails, entered a support ticket this morning so I'll see what happens next. I Hope JB get's his cut from the $200 because so, far I've got nothing to show for it. Not even an email.

@@ELValenin Hi,, yes, all arrived 2 days later. Great fun although I had to dial down the rates to 40% to fly indoors. Out doors was much easier. I'd recommend getting some extra batteries and the 6 way charger as well if you buy it which made learning to fly fpv much more enjoyable. .

129 bucks what a time to be alive. Those Googles are sold on European Amazon for about 60bucks the drone is just the beta65lite with a new frame and canopy also around 60 bucks. The radio is 40 something. So this is a very good kit pricewise

i had/have a beta fpv radio. used it for around 6 hours of simulation before the first wire inside snapped. soldered it, and 3 hours later another wire snapped, this time it was too short to resolder. i cannot recommend this radio. (this was the version with the internal charging). also tried to contect beta fpv, who 9 days later havent returned to me. and when a gimbal breaks you have to buy an entirely new controller it seems.

I have a question for you I wone the ready to fly Eachine wizard x220s and Idk any thing about Fpv drones but I have no goggles yet would I damage it if I tryed it with out goggles???? And do I need to do anything special to get started??

It won't be damaged if you don't have goggles. You can fly it line of sight.

I know I'm pretty late putting up a comment, and hopefully you look and answer, but I'll ask anyways...New pilot, no FPV flight time yet. I got the emax TH2FS RTF kit. I absolutely do not care for the controller at all. My question is: would you recommend the Betapvf literadio 2? or the Radiomaster TS16S SE? The SE version, not the full blown version. Yes i realize the Radiomaster is 2x the cost. Just looking for your feedback.

Between the two, I like the Radiomaster because the game-controller form factor is not my favorite. But that's a personal choice.

@@JoshuaBardwell I just took out my Tinyhawk 2 freestyle with the emax E6 controller and the emax goggles for the 1st time. I ran the quad on 1 1s battery to try out. I didn't not like the goggles at all. I had difficulties seeing in them. Also, the controller was not very fun to fly with. i flew it VLOS only and it was ok. I'm seriously debating if I want to return the kit and maybe look into something else. I have some sim time, but the sim and the real thing were so different. I'm discouraged because i so want to get into this hobby.

Always the starter drone. But what is the next step up from this. There is never a class between beginner or super drone. Like i have a larva x. Love the size but what's next like a simple build. The step from bnf to building your own build.

It sounds like failure after failure. Firmware has no access. No angle limits and brushed setup (is it still 2016?). My 9 year old couldn't help herself but using full sticks all the time before she started to gain control. Latency. Radio binds only to this exact quad. Honestly most boys or girls receiving this will be heading into a wall as soon as they build their real first quad. Emax has way more to offer as the gate into FPV. What was BetaFPV thinking? $80 or less maybe for this. $129 and after the first month or so they will need to start spending when they realize they should have had an Emax bundle.

I think, from my personal experience with brushed tiny whoops like that, the durability is lacking. It's a short matter of time until the motors wear out etc. Plus, flying acro on that looks near impossible. Other that basic controls I feel like basic skills such as beta flight usage, acro etc. Wouldn't be developed. I'd recommend the tinyhawk over this myself.

Emax tinyhawk series are trash too, the fc from that thing can't take any hit, many peopel alreay broke 2-4 of them (freaking 200euro on FC, 55€ each)

@justvoorfun I have a dead fc board too, but not to any manufacturing it design defect - one got ESC burned after trying to fly with debris b stuck in a prop and other was bitten though by my dog :) I have other tree drones based on the same board (TH2, TH2 Race and TH2 Freestyle) which fly fine for quite some time now. I do agree it is a pain to replace an entire $60 integrated board after single busted ESC, but this is true for every tinywhoop style drone. This is the price we pay for miniaturization.

I just bought the Advanced kit, and i´m really happy with it, today was my first day flying it. outside i get a lot of noise on the video . a better antenna will improve that ? can i use a good CP omni antenna with this whoop? or i must use linear polarized one?

Is the pro version of this kit not much better 178$ BRUSH-LESS, and binding controller, and nicer quad? They should send you the Advance kit, turtle mode, wattage adjustment, nicer camera, and i would love to see you run that one, (brush-less motors). you need that.
