The first run up to the bar scoop on the 12th fret B sounds SO much like a tune, but I can't place which tune or who it's by. I can hear this run and the next (which sounds basically the same, just ends on a lower note) in my head, but no more. I know this is only a fraction of info to go by, but by chance, does anyone know the tune that's trying to come to me? I noticed a couple of people compared this lick to Vai, and it IS possible the tune I'm thinking of is his, but for the life of me I can't nail it down. I wanna say it's either Vai or Malmsteen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
@leopower7 I thought legato was us used in classical compositions to have notes flow together. Kinda like the opposite of steccato. Sorry for splelling, i am a music noob.
@robertlucky The idea is that he plays something you can't. The best guitar licks, and riffs are the ones where the guitarist holds themselves back, at least a little bit.
@guitarnoize Yeah I understand the humbucking stuff. But in my oppinion, I'd rather buy a Gibson if I want to play rock, buy a Dean/ESP/Schecter/etc for metal and Fender for classic blues and classic rock. I don't know if you can agree with this, but it's my oppinion...
@xboxnissan people have been doing it for years look at guys like andy la rouke and like all of maiden, a guitar is a preference some people like the feel more than like a bc rich or an esp or anything really
@guitarnoize Yeah I understand your point.. I must admit that I'd rather buy a Fender Strat to play Hendrix than buy a Schecte Hellraiser C-1 with EMGs. It's really about what you'll play with your guitar. There's a troll on the Dime Amplifier by Dean Guitars reviewed by Guitar World that says that Dean Guitars sucks as well as their amps... It's no sense to say such things, Dimebag, Dave Mustane and much more use/d 'em. This kid doesn't have a clue why.... The tone... but I like Fenders.
@bmd900 Ok can you play me some... let's say something impossible to do with fender: Metal. Play me Lamb Of God - Contractor. Or what about Are You Dead Yet by Children Of Bodom?
@guitarnoize Still, you must be very famous since 80's (Iron Maiden) to keep playing Fender guitars for metal... I never ever see Dimebag/Zakk Wylde/ Randy Rhoads having Fenders for their sounds...
