My oldest sister died of cancer. Before passing she requested this song and a couple others be played at her funeral. I made a cd that was played during the service. Afterwards i put it in her coffin so she can hear it play in Heaven. I miss you sis and think of whenever i hear this song.
I too, want this played at my funeral services. This is on my top 3 favorite songs of all time and I was fortunate to see her in concert some years back. I sometime tear up hearing this song; I sure many do also.💜

My dad just passed away this weekend from cancer. He was originally diagnosed with a four month prognosis. He ended up defeating the odds and lasted 14 months. I will always cherish his wisdom and love for me. Rest in peace, Dad.

One of my favorite songs. It reminds me of my sister, she was the wind beneath my wings. She always took steps behind me to let me shine for years. She was my hero. Because she supported me in everything I tried to accomplish. Always supportive and a best friend I will never forget. She said I want you to do things I never did and reach for the very top. my dear Beth Midler you have touched so many lives with this song. I was privileged to be one of the caregivers 2 an elderly 95 gentleman. every evening after dinner he would sit in his comfortable chair and listen to all your songs we had on tape over and over again everyday his favorite was The Wind Beneath My Wing he would sit and cry at times listening to you because his wife loved your songs and they would play it when she was alive it would make him think of her. your songs kept his spirits High if his wife was still with him. when it was time for him to leave this life this was the song We sang at his grave site. everytime I hear your song I think of him. he had so much history of his life that he shared with all of us who cared for him. he was at Cape codder raised by a minister and loved clamming by the seashore he was a teacher for many years at the high school in Barnstable Mass and I'm so privileged to have learned so much history of this native land of Cape Cod through his stories it made me appreciate all the nooks and crannies of this little part of the world and you were the center of his life Bette Midler he loved you so much. he had tons of recordings of all your music. thank you for being a part of his life with song. you are God's Little Angel on Earth and thank you God bless you always

Wow...She still slays it everytime! This song is so special to me. It was played at my Grandfather's funeral when he passed in 1998, and my father's too. He just passed last week and his funeral was 2 days ago. I'm still grieving heavily. I'll always greive the loss of them, it'll never get easier. At 3:30 am on June 25, 2019, my wife of 28 yrs took her last breath. I got up early the next morning, was at my laptop, listening to the radio, low volume, Wind Beneath My Wings came on, I knew without a doubt I had to have this played at my wife's funeral. Every time I heard this song, no matter where I was during the day, I always thought of my wife, so I knew this had to be played. My wife would sing this song to me, she and I loved it. RIP Patti. A few years ago, my beloved uncle in my native Sweden died from melanoma. I remember one of our last conversations was at a cafe in southern Sweden over a cup of coffee and a pastry. It was a great conversation which lasted about an hour. Just uncle and nephew. My uncle played a big part in my life while I was growing up. Uncle Bengt, I miss you so much. RIP. ❤❤

It makes daughters listening to the lyrics reflect, give thanks and shed a tear too. I am so glad in the music industry today we have songs like this to help us pause, reflect and think.
