fresh upload on the gaming channel: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zYyfl55x38A.html Something else to think about when it comes to black equalizer - games where it’s probably most useful are where the enemy player models aren’t outlined (CS:GO, Warzone). As opposed to Apex and Valorant where the outlines can still stand out in front of a dark background.

FLAT is good! What most people associate with flat colours is in fact proper colour-accuracy. If your monitor is advertised as covering most of the DCI-P3 gammut, it will be great for HDR but not for standard sRGB applications. Colours will look "punchy" but inaccurate and oversaturated. Some more expensive monitors have an sRGB mode in the settings which corrects this.
@griffin1366

digital vibrancy is definitely a double edged sword. it makes color stand out more but at the price of making them look oversaturated. if color accuracy is your goal, the first option is definitely better (a color calibrator). for the average person, digital vibrancy if fine as long as you dont crank it up too high. personally, 65% on my gaming monitor is the highest I can comfortably go.

The GeForce driver should try and select the appropriate option for your display. A tv is likely going to use Limited (although some can detect and switch between either), and a monitor will use Full. If you use Full on a display that is designed for a limited range, you will experience color clipping which is not ideal or accurate to the intended image.

i1 Display Pro and call it a day. If you want color to be correct, calibrate it. Use its tools to get your white point, contrast, and brightness close to perfect through the OSD, then use the xrite software tool to make an ICC profile. This way even if the program or game isn't color managed, your OSD settings will at least be as close to what they should be, and what the game designers were looking at to begin with. And when whatever your looking at IS color managed, it'll look perfect.

i can bet you will not notice the Hz difference at all. From 30 to 60 and 60 to 144Hz the upgrade is noticeable and it becomes less noticeable the further you go like 240 to 360 and definitely 360 to 390 you will notice. Go for it if it offers other features you like, unless you want the bragging rights for having higher refresh rate monitor.
@353darkesthour

@@davey379 I think it all depends on the game you play and how unique every frame is. I actually can notice the 360-390 jump with or without BFI in overwatch for instance, that’s about it though. What you do notice though is how snappy the responsive the input lag reduction is. That being said, I am considering exchanging for the 1440p 270hz. His latest review was pretty convincing considering the sharper image and response time gap.

Hi, thanks for this informative video. Could you make a video to clarify NVidia panel graphic settings. For example, clarifications about the RTX settings for upscaling(sharpening) vs downscaling(DSR): these seems to be two opposite features; can sharpening upscaling and DSR work together? And all other settings to maximize the video card for gaming: a balance between best FPS and video quality? Also, how some settings affect gaming lag (maybe such as some texture filtering, low latency, triple buffering, and vertical sync).

@@sladewilson9273 so far what I've seen it acts like the digital vibrance slider described in this video. Some games benefit, others actually get worse, but mostly improvements. It really depends on how the game developer used their color pallette as to how well it works. My big problem with it is there is no control over it whatsoever besides on and off. For sdr content you really can get the same result from what he described in this video. I'm not hating on it, but don't get your hopes up too much. We like colorful things. We like bright things. There are reasons why TV/displays on the show rooms are the way they are. I respect the preferences and the competitive edge it can create. However, I firmly believe that we should not be punching up the saturation artificially. What this does is that it makes our eyes (and brain) see the punched up colors as the default (like how you mentioned going back makes the game look like black and white), when it is actually very artificial and inaccurate while color accurate images are considered "flat" in comparison which can be problematic. PS. Not sure how I feel about inclusion of "improving" colors with colorimeter towards the end. Up until then, the video mostly covers some ways to improve perceived color, not necessarily accuracy and calibration is all about getting closer to accurate, reference image (what many might feel as "flat").

However, after some time, it just seemed to increase eye strain for me, and the game didn't really look much better than standard as my eyes adjusted to it. Eventually, I reduced it to 60% before going all the way back to 50% because I ended up preferring it in the long term.

If you have a 125% SRGB VA panel like I do then it'll already be extremely vibrant. I added just 5% on the nvidia color settings and that's as far as I can go without it bleeding (red in particular). But this is definitely useful for IPS or TN panels which have less vivid colors.

Also Nvidia has filters to saturate specific games too using Alt + F3 in-game. You can use the colors filter and put all sliders to neutral except vibrancy, it works the same as the setting in the control panel but it only applies to that game.

Gotta love how AMD's saturation setting can be set on a game by game basis.

Speaking of color setting, rip for anyone find their white point to be inaccurate. You can calibrate your way out of most thing, everything except white point.

Honestly, for most people, I'd just leave it as is and not touch any of the display settings. Better set your monitor to its sRGB mode then only adjust colors through the in-game options.

Try Escape from Tarkov! I am in trouble in dark areas like interchange in that game :D

I feel you completely bro, try this: Nvidia Control Panel > Gamma +1.70 Contrast +55% - In game Post FX: Brightness 0 and Clarity 0 (The rest of the settings like sharpening are up to you) and also Color Grading: Chillwave on 33 Intensity. This helped me out a lot!! I can literally see every dark spot on any map, but it's especially overpowered on maps like Interchange!

LG ultragear monitors going with fps mode and dropping brightness down (100 by default) and black equalizer to about 70 is perfect. Seems to automatically oversaturate slightly as these monitors don't have a saturation slider. Nice because I can just toggle it on in the quick switch. Tbf the only game it's really needed is warzone tho. Colors are just awful. Also really frustrating the colors in rebirth are far better done. I like to add some digital vibrance in verdansk but not in rebirth. A lot of hassle for a game full of cheaters lol.

I'm not entirely sure, but gamma control on amd is called "brightness" instead and it's the first option.

Is there any science that brighter colours, achieved through increasing digital vibrance, make opponents easier to spot? I've got 20/20 vision and have never had trouble spotting things like a dropped screw or food on the ground with just a brief glance. I've played around with digital vibrance and didn't find it any easier to spot enemies. Does anyone else feel this way too?
@AsianBear44

Vibrancy amplifies the difference between color values, increasing contrast. It can theoretically help, especially when character models and the environment have a similar color. If it doesn't effect how you play, I wouldn't bother, as while it could give you a competitive edge, it also changes the intended visual experience.

Vibrant and vivid colours are NOT accurate. TV and monitor manufacturers have known for decades that the average consumer turns the contrast and saturation way too high. That's fine - it's their preference, but it will make for inaccurate colours if you edit photos or videos for other people to see. Alternately, you'll need to adjust for each application.
@RS-Caleb
@RS-Caleb 2 года назад
we arn't looking for accuracy of the color, but better visibility in fps or solo games. I turn vibrancy up in fps games because like he said it makes targets easier to pick out at a distance because the red will shine brightest against other colors. I turn my sharpness settings all the way up for the same reason. It makes background objects harder to see, but tbh i don't care if Im trying to shoot the thing in front of me. Solo games I pretty much turn up darker colors using a cooler color temperature, because I feel it looks best.

There is a way you can actually change the colors If you have an intel graphics card. Go on your home screen, right-click and left-click intel graphics settings. After that click on display then click on color settings. When you reach hear mess around with the "saturation" bar to get the color you want. it will look bad on your home screen but once you get into your game, you will see the change.
