If you are tired of paying too much money for Italian Sausage in the store, here is an easy way to save OVER $3 a pound by making your own seasoning to add to ground pork, or you could add it to any ground meat.
The more of these herbs you can grow yourself will save you even more money!

Here's the recipe:
Italian Sausage Seasoning
2 tsp Salt
2 tsp Fennel
2 tsp Cayenne
2 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Black Ground Pepper
1 tsp Oregano
1 tsp Basil
1 tsp Paprika
1/2 tsp Dehydrated Leeks or Onions
1/2 tsp Thyme
1/2 tsp Rosemary
1/2 tsp Sage
1/2 tsp Parsley
1/2 tsp Celery Seed
1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
**Use 1 Tablespoon per pound of meat**

I will have to try your recipe because it sounds so good. Sometimes one of the stores in my town will put pork butts on sale for 99 cents per pound. That is when I make breakfast sausage so I will also use the ground butts to try your italian style. Thanks.

A great value is the kitchenAid 8qt mixer!! Its NSF APPROVED for commercial use and has a DC motor unlike any of the other kitchenAid mixers. So u can grind the meat & Mix the meat also!!! 8qts is about 10# and its got the power with that DC motor!! I use a #22 plate. It works real well.

We do have a KitchenAid mixer. I love it but found it got too warm when grinding large amounts of meat. We bought LEM grinder and it works great for large amounts and I also use it for vegetables when canning

Blanch the herbs and spices and seeds, it takes the bitterness out of them!!

Mine is better! You must have just started a couple years .grind your own meat you’ll save a lot more money get the meat on sale and save more make sure you have a freezer. Research all your spices your close but over doing it wrong spices.

What is your suggestion on what I should change? I'm always open to improving recipes! We do buy our meat on sale and grind our own. That was our main reason for wanting to come up with a recipe for the Italian seasoning. We have an upright freezer and 2 chest freezers we use.
