What a great interview! There is nothing purer than listening to an articulate artist discuss her own work. It sure beats hearing someone else’s interpretation of that work.

An unparalleled artist... but also such an articulate and thoughtful speaker. It is a delight to listen to her speak about her craft.

So interesting how she acknowledges the way her analyst and her physical trainer are so key in working with her in crafting her artistry.

I went to NYC in November 1983 and my cousin took me to the Winter Garden Theatre to see "CATS" because Betty Buckley was going to be in it. I loved her in "Eight is Enough" and wanted to see her up close. Unfortunatley, the day I was there she was sick and her stand-in took her place!

What an interesting story about the behind the scenes of Sunset Blvd... Sad to hear that about Patty but I guess that comes with the showbiz territory

An amazing song stylist. Her album ‘with one look’ compares with Sinatra’s Capitol albums.

I love tour on eight is enough as our you I think it was tough for her to come in and replace Diana Hyland the mom on the show who passed away when the cast had bonded with Diana but Dave said that badly in the cast did not always get along and I love her and tender mercy that song over you it’s just beautifully done she also did frantic with Harrison Ford and also was on Oz so she’s acted but she’s done more of the theater but I wonder what she feels about eight is enough because she never does the reunion shows and I don’t understand that if it wasn’t for that really be quite honest yeah she was known in the theaterBut not much elsewhere so TV really brought her out in the open so I wonder why she never did the reunion shows that’s kind of unfortunate but Dick Van Patten who played the dad on eight is enough always speaks highly of our Betty the cast the rest of the cast did not have always the nicest things to say about her

I think Betty clashed with the producers. They talked up her character like she would be a very strong, feminist career woman of the 70s but they kept trying to make her more of a housewife which bothered Betty. She also was used to working with trained professionals in the theater and some of the kids in the Eight Is Enough cast were not very seasoned. Willie Aames became a teen magazine heartthrob and got a swelled head, didn’t have patience for “actor” stuff and that bothered Betty. But from what I gather, the conflicts settled down after the first couple of seasons and she wound up thinking of it as a dream job.

Wonderful reasoning on your part. Still in elementary school, eh? Let's just end this here because you're either yanking my chain or there is something seriously wrong with you.

@fountainchain126 Now you deserve criticism. Autism is a serious disorder that is not meant to be casually thrown around so you can make a colorful insult. Grow up and think twice before you write something so insensitive again.

Well said? What part of that was well said? The part where he insulted the autism community??? Geez.
